About the host
Hosted by Ruann Larson
The history of the property you will stay at on your vacation is rich. The Ephraim Village Cottage property was originally owned by Daryl's grandparents and was part of the Larson Cottages property that is seen from the highway. In the late 60's Daryl's dad, Roger, purchased the piece of land that faces Larson Lane, where the Meadowview Cottages sit, and with Daryl's mom Norma, created what was called Meadowview Cottages until the buyout in 2006 by an investor who turned the property into Ephraim Village Cottages.
In 2019 Daryl had the opportunity to bring the property back into the Larson family and on March 5, 2020 it became official. He is now the third generation owner of the small resort.
Daryl and Ruann live on the property full time as owners and as your hosts. Daryl has a lifetime of hospitality experience raised on the property and then managing the property for the investor. Daryl also served as a US Marine. Ruann is a sign language interpreter by trade and uses her craft to communicate with deaf guests during the vacation season and via remote work during the off season.
Seeing families with children, couples, and friends enjoy their "backyard" on vacation brings them immense joy. The sounds of children playing on the playground, friends laughing around the firepit, family reunions gathering for a picnic, and smelling delicious food barbequeing on the grills makes the resort come alive in the spring, summer, and fall. Then in the winter the whole property beds down under a blanket of snow for a long winters nap while Daryl and Ruann think about and put into action plans for upgrades to the cottages and improvements to guest amenities.
Welcome Home to Ephraim Village Cottage. You are now family.
May your stay be in a peaceful and secure dwelling in an undisturbed place of rest. Isaiah 32:18.
