Escape from it all at Creeks Edge Cabin. Picturesque setting with private creek frontage, fenced yard and classic cabin styling that has been updated for total comfort. Generous indoor/outdoor living spaces, including a huge 3 season sunroom, three bedrooms and a beautiful kitchen. Fish, tube, and swim in the creek by day and roast marshmallows in the fire pit at night. Rural setting with good proximity to many Up North destinations including beaches, skiing, hiking and charming small towns.
6 adults or older kids maximum. 7 guests considered if group includes young kids or babies.
You get the best of both worlds at Creeks Edge Cabin. Enjoy the details of a classic 1950s cottage with many modern updates to make your stay comfortable. The beautiful pine tongue and groove interior, large porches, sun room and wooden dock leading to the large creek will instantly put you at ease. The spacious interior and modern updates throughout will make your stay easy for the whole group. Downstairs you will find two nice sized queen bedrooms, and one of them has private access to the porch and gorgeous views of the creek. Upstairs is delight for kids and adults alike with two beds in a cozy loft. The bathroom is large and guests enjoy access to a washer and dryer. The kitchen has been updated and flows seamlessly into the living space for easy conversations as meals are being prepared. Enjoy cable TV and wifi.
The 3 season sun room is the perfect space for dining, spending the day with a good book and playing with children. This is a dog friendly property (please see the pet rules) and you will enjoy a fenced yard for comfort with your pet.
You can enjoy the creek for fishing, wading and swimming right in the backyard of the house, or you can take a mini tubing or kayak adventure. Across the street and up the road a private property owner allows you to park and access the creek on his property for a small fee. Drop off a car and then head back to the house to make your way in a tube or in your waders for a day of fishing.
We aim to provide a totally clear description of the property, here are are few things to note:
- Use of the dock and swimming is entirely at your own risk. We provide some basic safety items like a life ring.
- The property does border a road with a 55 MPH speed limit. Very few cars pass by (we usually count less than 5 cars per hour) and the property is fenced for safety.
- The creek goes under the road right at the end of our frontage and there are 3 large culverts at the edge of our property. They are plenty big to pass through and we don't mind them at all, but please see the photos for a view of what the frontage looks like.
- Per our insurance provider, we cannot provide any tubes or other floatation devices. Please bring your own tubes and kayaks if you'd like to use them. You can also rent kayaks nearby.
You will have total private use of the home , backyard and creek frontage*. There is garage on the property. The may be available for guest use seasonally but do not expect to use the garage unless we have previously discussed it.
*note that Michigan Riparian Rights allow for public use of navigable lakes and streams. But that right does not extend to the uplands of riparian property owners while in such waters, or in entering or departing waters from those privately owned uplands. While unlikely, you may see a fisher or tuber passing through the creek that they entered on public land or their own private property. This is permitted by law but they may not come up on the shores of our property. We never anticipate an issue with Riparian Rights, but if you feel someone is using the creek within the confines of our property in an unlawful way, please message us or contact the police if it is urgent.
We give our guests privacy and autonomy to come and go as you please.
You will have contactless access to the house and a comprehensive welcome book with all of the details you should need. As your hosts, we are available through the Airbnb ap for any questions you have about the space or about the region.
