Place was great for our stay for 3 of us seeing my son at SIUE! A grill is the only addition I would suggest. Wish we found this place before our last trip to Edwardsville.
We stayed for 3 days. House itself was clean and in a nice location. Was stocked with everything you would need for a short term visit. Beyond the rental itself, there was construction going on during the week, which was super loud and shock the whole house. The neighbors dog barked for hours straight daily. Which was more then frustrating.
The property was immaculate and well taken care of. The host was friendly and responsive and granted me a later check out time even when my message didn’t reach her. She arranged to have the property cleaned later. It was a perfect spot for me and it was nice to have quiet and privacy. Great place to stay!
I was here for an extended period for work in the area and this lovely little cottage was wonderful as a home away from home. Very comfortable and clean. The host, Sophie, was very responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Close to Glen Carbon bike trails and some pretty great eats with The Cabin and The Wooden Nickle, and it's within a reasonable distance to hop over the river and explore St. Louis. I would 100% stay again if back in the area for vacation.
This place was perfect for our trip. We were worried about the road being closed due to construction, however, it’s not hard to follow a map to find this cute cottage. The weather was perfect. We had all the windows open. Beautiful breeze at night with the morning sun shining in the front sun “reading” area. Super quite! Nature, birds, life. We spent a lot of time with family. This cottage gave us the space to come and go, whenever. Great kitchen nook for game play.My husband and I came to the cottage very late and there was a container with filtered water and coffee in the freezer. A black makeup towel. Hospitality 100%. Thank you. Had to leave goodies behind in fridge, hope you enjoy.
The cottage was perfect for our needs, fully equipped kitchen, pleasant not overwhelming decor and comfortable king size beds. It was close to everything you could possibly need but still located in a quiet neighborhood. The village library is two maybe three minutes walk away and a cozy bar and grill about five minutes away. St. Louis is a quick trip across the river and easy to and from the airport. Edwardsville and Glen Carbon are packed with shopping, dining, and loads of day and night time entertainment. We will definitely be seeking out this cottage for our next visit.
Sunset cottage was a nice older cottage. It had been remodeled and was nicely decorated. It was clean and had all the amenities that you might need. Access was easy with clear instructions. Location was awesome, easy to get to SIU-E and any shopping or restaurants you might need. Communication was extremely good, Sophie replied within an hour of any questions I had. Would recommend this cottage to anyone staying in the Glen Carbon/ Edwardsville area.
The place was great, it was very clean and cozy, we had everything that we needed. The whole process was really easy, thank you for the great experience!
This charming ranch house was the ideal spot for our recent birthday getaway!
Overall, this ranch house was a great choice for our birthday celebration. The clean space, functional kitchen, and convenient location made it a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would definitely recommend it to others looking for a relaxing weekend getaway near SIU.
We loved the location right next to the trails. Walked to the Wooden Nickel and a short drive to the Cabin. Only used the toaster, but the kitchen was well stocked. Sophie was great! We will definitely stay there again for long stays. Not economical for shorter stays because of the cleaning fee.
Great house, good proximity to the city, surrounding area has everything you need, walking distance to a good restaurant. Air conditioning worked great when it was hot outside, and all the appliances seemed brand new/worked great.
This property is exactly what we were looking for. Our daughter goes to SIUE and we will be visiting her often. We plan on staying here every time as long as it’s available.
