The space
Our newly built cabin, located on the beautiful Salmon River, features a beautiful setting with floor to ceiling windows, stainless steel appliances and a cozy wood stove. The spacious kitchen and dining area has direct access to the porch and hot tub; perfect for enjoying the Mt. Hood forest and river views while sipping coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. Upstairs features a separate loft area where kids will love to play games or watch TV. The basement is the perfect area to spread out, play foosball or relax watching a movie on the smart TV. And don't forget to relax in our stunning new 5 person hot tub!

Step outside and you’ll find a covered patio furnished with a propane BBQ, dining table and chairs. The magnificent Douglas Fir tree on our property is 500+ years old and is considered an ecological gem. Arborists claim it is one of the oldest Douglas Firs in the area. The Salmon River is a short 1 minute walk and is the only river in the U.S. designated as a National Wild and Scenic River. While the surrounding area offers tremendous opportunities for outdoor activities, Big Tree Retreat is your personal refuge and opportunity to reconnect with friends or family.

Aside from a grocery store, medical clinic, and gas station, you will also find an eclectic wine shop, liquor store, coffee house, pizza parlor, golf course, and a bike shop, all within three miles of this home. For fly fishing and kayaking, the Salmon River is right in your own backyard! Hike and climb in the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness and Mt. Hood National Forest. Just a short drive away, visit Government Camp where you will find the Mt. Hood Adventure Park with over 20 exciting activities to choose from including an alpine slide, ziplines, a mountain biking park, and much, much more. And each winter, skiers and snowboarders will want to hit the slopes at Mt. Hood Skibowl, Timberline Lodge, or Mt. Hood Meadows.

Guest access
4X4 vehicles (or snow chains) are recommended to access our cabin during the winter months of November-March. Our cabin is near the end of a dirt road which is not serviceable by a snow plow.

Excellent stay
I will start by saying we stay in rental properties several times a year and this is by far the cleanest well taken care of property we have stayed it. It is clear the owners very much take extra care of their property and we are great full they shared with us for a couple nights. The sound of the river were amazing and the entire family enjoyed our stay. Thanks for being a great host.

We are already planning our next stay!
What an amazing experience! We truly enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin. Throughout the day and night all you hear is birds and the sound of the river. Which is so relaxing! The cabin was very clean, very well stocked with all the necessities and overall cozy. Some of our favorites things were how close the river is, hot tub, the 3 different levels that everyone can spread around, great wifi, being able to log in to Netflix/HDMI cable to connect devices, the outdoor grill, the board games, there is something for everyone to do, you will not get bored, perfect place to relax and comfortable couches. We were already looking into out next visit while being there and cant wait to enjoy the cabin with family again. We give this cabin 5+stars!
