The second bathroom can be found at the bottom of the stairs just off of the living room. There is a queen bed hidden in the sofa. Up the stairs you will find bedroom #2 with a double bed and bedroom #3 with 2 twin beds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and two blocks off the main road (state road 5) close to the Blue Gate restaurant. Very quiet and plenty of room for our entire group. Both bathrooms on the main floor which was a little challenging for the ones that stayed in the upstair bedrooms but worked for our short stay. Definitely would stay here again on a future trip to Shipshewana.
The bike trail and shopping are so close. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with a great outdoor space to relax after a full day. The host is very responsive.
We stayed two nights in March. The house was cozy and in a great location relative to the downtown area. It was a very relaxing weekend with low stress and the clip-clop of the horse and buggy always in the background. We will stay again!
The home was clean and conveniently located near just about everything. We came for a quilt weekend and we did lots of shopping and sewing. The first floor bedroom is great. Two upstairs bedroom were very cozy, just some steep stairs to climb. The owner was very nice and quick to reply! Would definitely stay again! All the Amish buggies were quaint and fun to see!
We bring our sewing machines and have a mental health week enjoying each other’s company, a clean house and a beautiful community. The local shops are delightful. We are repeat visitors to this property. Highly recommend!!!
The house was very well kept and nicely decorated and worked great for our group. Jessica was always quick to respond to our questions and provide information about the home and things to do in the area. Would definitely book this home for any future trips to Shipshewana!
Perfect place to stay for a girls weekend. House was very clean and well furnished. Within walking distance to almost all shops. The back porch was especially nice to sit out under at night. Very easy instructions for arriving and leaving. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!
Property was as advertised, just a couple blocks from downtown, and owner was responsive. We would stay there again!
Appreciated the nice sized kitchen table for playing games, and the spacious living room. It was also great to have two bathrooms.
Cozy home, nice bedding and towels. Beds are a little squeaky and the stairs are steep, but overall a great place to stay. Only 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom so bring your own. Plenty of room for the 5 of us and there were extra blankets and pillows if needed.
The reviews of this home give a very accurate accounting of the home - we walked everywhere in Shipshewana, it’s super cute, calming, all we needed for a weekend with family. We appreciate the attentiveness of the owner, and had no issues. We would stay here again and we’d recommend it. Upstairs is better for younger legs but we were a multigenerational group and planned accordingly.
The house was cute & very clean! Location was perfect for walking to things! Will definitely recommend to friends. Big enough for 2 couples to stay if spouses were to go with us.
Only awkward thing was parking on the street. I drive a Suburban & I was the only one parked on the street the whole time. I took up half the lane. Ha!
Very nice little house to stay in, close to shopping/restaurants. It does have steep stairs, but we had seen this in the reviews. I would suggest more light in the separate downstairs bathroom. Host was available if needed questions answered. They were redoing the curbs/sidewalks/roads around the house, so this made it difficult to get in/out of the house(nothing the host can do about that), but she was accommodating about that. We enjoyed our time there.
We enjoyed our stay in this home very much. It was very clean. It had everything we needed and more for our stay. There was even a basket with some granola bars and pods for the Keurig Coffee maker. They also provided pamphlets of all the attractions in the area.
My husband and I, who are in our 60’s, slept upstairs and it was no issue at all as the handrail was helpful. Other posts had concerns about the stairs but we found that to be a non issue.
Communication was good with the owners.
Our friends who were with us agreed with us about how homey it was and nicely decorated inside and out.
I hope to stay here again with my daughters for a trip to Shipshewana sometime in the future.
My adult daughters, cousin, and I rented this cottage for a ladies weekend away. i highly recommend both the cottage and the property owners! The house was clean, comfortable, well maintained, and well stocked. The owners were responsive and concerned about us having a relaxing and enjoyable time while we were there. The cottage is right around the corner from the Blue Gate Restaurant and the Subway/Gas station, so everything we needed was within walking distance, except for when we wanted to travel further down the road to explore. We are a board game family, and there was plenty of room to relax and enjoy some games in the evenings. The new covered deck on the back was a pleasant place to sit and relax. If you have issues with stairs, be aware that 2 of the bedrooms are upstairs, and the stairs are slightly steep and narrow. Both bathrooms are on the main floor. Window air conditioning units were in each upstairs bedroom, so we were able to stay comfortable on a very hot weekend. Overall, I highly recommend this cottage for your next stay in Shipshewana!

Raised in Shipshewana, I have loved exploring this town and the surrounding areas. I actually attended the elementary school located just down the street. After getting married I moved to a town nearby but love to take our 3 young kids to "Shipshe" regularly.
Why they chose this property
This cottage was where my grandmother called home for 30+ years. It is filled with so many fond memories for myself and my entire family. It is our hope that this house can continue to fill many other hearts and minds with wonderful memories of times shared together.
