3 min to Sugar Mtn: Modern cabin nestled in the trees - The Sugar Cube
Our 3BR, 2BA house is an escape from city life, giving you the impression that you're secluded in the woods without sacrificing convenience. A few of our favorites about living here: 1. Waking up to fresh mountain air 2. Relaxing to music on the record player 3. Nature views from any window (lush summer leaves, colorful fall foliage, winter mountain view) 4. Perfect weather days on both the front & back porches with a good drink and the grill 5. Cozying up with the wood stove on cold days.

We all enjoyed our time away from everyday pressures to explore and participate in Banner Elk activities and dining - even if only for a short weekend.
We have stayed at a number of houses over the years. The house was done fabulously, cleanliness impeccable, kitchen well stocked. The pillows and mattresses on the beds were very comfortable and allowed for good nights' sleep!
We also appreciated that toiletry items (soaps, shampoo, TP, etc.) were provided. Finally, the home owners provided a guide book that was very thorough!
The location was excellent. In a private community but only minutes from groceries, etc.
We hope we can go in the winter. The house and the proximity to the ski slopes has us won over.
We love the easy way to get there and to rent the place . and it was like we were home feel in home

About the host
Hosted by Linda Yang
We are a couple in our early 30's, and this is our first home. I analyze outcome data for a mental health provider, while Daniel works in product design. We love exploring new places, getting out into nature, and enjoying live music.
Why they chose this property
This home is an oasis for us - having grown up in Raleigh, one of my favorite activities with my family growing up was to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, especially in the fall! So of course, when we had an opportunity to buy a house, we aimed for one here in the High Country. We have put a lot of effort, energy, and love into updating this house since buying it in 2021. It's definitely been an adventure in our home improvement skills as well! We love spending time here, and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
What makes this property unique
Our favorites about our home are: Awesome window views in the living room - all 4 seasons! Tons of natural lighting Listening to music on our record player Cozying up with a book either in the living room, or the reading loft! Fresh mountain air - cool summer temperatures (no A/C needed) Views and sounds of nature from the deck Enjoying a delicious grilled meal on a nice day Easy access to amazing hiking trails, as well as walking distance to Sugar Mountain golf course and tennis courts Super short 3-min drive to groceries, and our favorite restaurant - Reid's!
