House had Pro’s and Con’s

Before I list the negatives the house did have quite a few positives. The video game system was great for playing old school arcade games, had 60 choices. Grill start button worked on one try which is rare. Bathrooms were remodeled and nice, good water pressure and hot water. Bed was comfy and the home was close to the Tuckaleechee Caverns. Host was quick to respond to any emails or questions. We didn’t like the home as much as we thought we would. Nothing inaccurate in the listing or photos but the home just wasn’t as nice in real life as the photos. Wifi worked but not great, didn’t have enough connection to watch a movie on Netflix. Couldn’t get cell phone service or send/receive texts. The noise from the street was audible, recommend bringing a white noise fan. Thought we’d be able to hear the moving river water but couldn’t. Didn’t like the driveway and was worried we’d get blocked in by a neighbor at the lower house. Home is just at beginning of the hilly area, if you want true Mountain View’s I’d recommend renting closer to Wears Valley.

Cozy mountain cabin close to area attractions

This cozy cabin sits high atop the mountainside with a great view of the Smoky Mountains. it provides stunning views from its many decks that overlook the river and the area’s lush landscape. The cabin was tastefully decorated and clean, and it included everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was spacious and relaxing. We enjoyed morning coffee on the upper deck, late night hot tub soaks on the lower deck and a rainy evening on the screened-in side porch. We traveled to Maryville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg on short day trips, taking in the scenic Great Smoky Mountains National Park on our drives. We visited area antique malls and dined at a lovely outdoor space up the road and a 50s-themed diner in Maryville. Our hosts were gracious and responsive throughout the stay and provided great details on site with labeled light switches, and a host book full of useful cabin information. We didn’t have kids with us but there’s plenty of things to keep kids occupied such as video games, air hockey, books, board games, coloring, etc. This is a great place and we hope to stay again!

Family vacation at Paddingtons place

We loved Paddingtons place. The location was perfect proximity for hiking in Cades Cove. Great views of the Smokies!

Relaxing Getaway
