The Space:

Escape to the Kawarthas in comfort! We are new owners of an established and successful Airbnb property. Since taking ownership in the Fall of 2022, we have completed countless new upgrades including all new furniture, and new paint throughout. Our goal with this cottage is to make it a high-end vacation home worthy of HGTV! This cottage is fully updated inside and outside with modern finishes, bright colours, and has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing vacation and build long lasting memories! Starlink Internet with download speeds of 100 - 160 MB per second.

Inside the cottage, guests will enjoy a large open-concept great room with vaulted ceilings and views of the River. The great room has been recently renovated and features a brand new kitchen (including new appliances) new kitchen island and coffee bar (both 12-cup and Kuerig), and is open-concept with the new living room. The spacious living room includes plenty of seating around a wood burning stove, with views of the river.

Next to the great room is the dining room, that features a huge dining room table with 8-chairs. The table can comfortably seat 10-12 people, and also has another ‘leaf’ that can be inserted to make the table even bigger for large meals with family and friends.
Also off the great room are two bedrooms and a 3-piece full bathroom. The master bedroom features a queen size bed and an ‘office nook’ which includes an office desk, ergonomic chair, and computer monitor. The second bedroom comes with rustic wood bunk beds (double on bottom/single on top), which are great for kids and adults alike.

In the basement, the cottage features a large rec room with a 55" Smart TV, with VCR/DVD player, which can be used to watch our extensive 5-star movie collection. We also have an Original Xbox that has a hard drive with 25+ vintage games from the early 2000's. There is also a brand new pull-out couch for extra sleeping, as well as the pool table/ping pong table. A great flex space for kids or hanging out and watching movies on a rainy day!

The third bedroom is located off the rec room and features a beautiful Photo-Wall - A stunning feature wall that makes you feel like you are sleeping in the wilderness. The third bedroom has 2 brand-new queen-sized beds, and a futon. Off the bedroom is the second 3-piece full bathroom (recently renovated) and laundry.

A true hideaway – the outside features a large deck, overlooking the river. Deck includes a built-in hot tub and a dining area that is covered by a gazebo. Off the deck, guests can also enjoy a barrel sauna and fire pit. The roadside of the cottage has lots of property for yard games and sports. It should be noted that Cedarplank Rd. is a quiet cottage road.

Guests can enjoy swimming off the dock, as the Burnt River is known for being clean, deep and weed free! It is also located on the Trent-Severn Waterway and flows into Balsam lake and Cameron lake. A public boat launch is a short 1-minute drive from the cottage.

The Cottage has a UV filtration system, so tap-water is clean and drinkable. There is also a heat pump / AC unit on the main floor as well as several ceiling fans. Main floor is carpet free. Free Wi-Fi is provided. Propane BBQ is included.

Snowmobilers are welcomed! Our cottage is fully heated/winterized, and includes a wood burning fireplace. The hot tub and sauna are useable 12-months of the year. It’s a short connection to OFSC B103 / Ganaraska Trail for endless trails/destinations.

Amazing cottage week with friends
The cottage was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos if not even better in person. The river was so fun to float down and swim in, and my group and I quite enjoyed our time in the hot tub as well. Both the owner and the property manager were very accommodating and understanding, and both of them were incredibly easy to get in contact with if we needed anything, and very helpful with any questions we had. The cottage was clean and easily accessible with just a few turns from the main road. The area was beautiful too with the small town near by offering some adorable shops and great ice cream. There were lots of fun things to do and see which made for the perfect summer cottage getaway for my friends and I. Would definitely recommend staying here any day.

Great vacation rental!
The property was everything as advertised and more! There was plenty of room for our family togetherness and yet you could have private space when wanted. Our family group included 12 people. The property owner and the property manager are great to work with! We would definitely rent this property again.

Ultimate Relaxation
Had a wonderful stay at the Riverfront Retreat with several friends! From the moment we booked, the owner was communicative and accommodating, and the property manager was both friendly and eager to share information about the house and general area. General agreement among the group is that the photos did not do the house justice. It is just literal steps from the river, and many of us enjoyed sitting on the deck or the dock enjoying the weather. We got much use out of the sauna, hot tub, and kayaks. The dining room doubled as a great space to play a few games as the sun went down. We were lucky enough with weather to not need to make much use of the basement area, but it was a great spot to watch a movie as a group as well as spending a few minutes at the pool table. Linens and basic soaps being provided was a huge perk for my group, as many of us were coming from a great distance. This saved us from schlepping a lot of extra things with us, as we had limited car space. Overall, if I am looking to stay somewhere in this area again, I will be keeping this cottage in mind! Many thanks to hosts Mike, Jacqueline, and Dave for making such a nice week possible!
