Cottage & waterfront were lovely. Hot tub was completely unusable, due to the smell. We were quite unhappy with this, and took all of the owner’s advice to make it work, but every time we tried to use it, nothing changed. We were disappointed to say the least, as one of the main reasons we booked this cottage in the first place was the hot tub.

We’d like to clarify that the hot tub was fully operational and safe to use during your stay. It is treated with bromine to keep the water clean and sanitized, which results in the typical smell found in all hot tubs that use bromine or chlorine. This does not make the tub unusable, and it has been enjoyed by hundreds of guests in the same condition without concern.
We were only notified of your concern on day five of your seven-day stay. In addition, we were at the property the day you checked out and found no unusual odor beyond the standard bromine level required to keep the water safe for use. For these reasons, we believe a three-star rating is not a fair reflection of the quality of the property or the experience provided.
We hold our property to a very high standard, and the consistent positive feedback from the vast majority of our guests reflects the care and attention we put into every stay.
We stayed at this home on Sturgeon lake for a week in July.
It was clean and well equipped with everything you’d need for an amazing vacation. There was ample space, a beautiful kitchen/grand room and the beds were comfortable. The home was wired for excellent internet, cell phone reception and Netflix for those rainy days.
The highlight of the week was the three different levels of decking equipped with comfortable patio furniture and fire pits.
The sunsets were stunning and Stephanie was amazing making sure we had everything we needed.
We would definitely recommend this rental for anyone visiting the Kawarthas!
