Second time at the cottage and it won't be our last! The location is spectacular and and the cottage itself is cozy and ever-so-cool! The hiking was terrific - this really is one of most favourite places anywhere.
This is a very nice house and is in a great location. It was clean and easy to keep clean and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the ocean view. There was a garage door which provided easy access to the yard and added to our enjoyment of the outdoors and oceanfront. It was very nicely located close to a sand beach and very near the Town of Cheticamp and the Cabot Trail. John was a very accommodating host
We had such a wonderful time with our children and their grandparents at this beautiful home. The views (including sunset over the ocean) were stunning. The home was well equipped and beds very comfy. I would highly recommend.
My family and I booked this charming cottage for 4 nights. It was very clean and welcoming. This little gem is located in front of the ocean and minutes away from the main st of Chéticamp. If you are looking to enjoy the trails and the maritime lifestyle, I would definitely recommend this cottage.
The location on the isle was superb. Bedrooms were comfortable. Was a serene getaway which is what we were hoping for. Unique style with the garter door and high ceilings.
At night, place was a little chilly due to the openness of the house. Heating options were not clear.
The property was everything we hoped for. Off a bit from the main road and right on the water. It was just the two of us so we weren’t concerned about the fact that it was advertised as sleeping 8. I would qualify that just a bit. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen and two double beds. Sleeping 8 adults seems a little tight. It would be perfect for a family with kids. I’d love to stay there with kids and grandkids. House was very nicely outfitted. Couldn’t figure out how to turn up the heat. Adjusting the thermostat was not clear.
Our family of 6 adults had a fabulous time staying at this very magical home on the water. The vibe of the place is easy going and welcoming.
The location is perfect for day hikes. Would recommend making reservations at the local restaurants if your planning to go out for dinner. We were very surprised when we walked thru this sleepy town during the day, how busy it was in the evening. Most restuarants closed by 8pm.
This uniquely built cottage far surpassed our expectations! Beautifully designed, clean and very comfortable. Lots if windows and everywhere you looked was a beautiful view of either the mountains or the ocean. The open air door was awesome we had it open everyday with the ocean breeze coming through. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Great wifi. Very close to Chéticamp for any grocery shopping and restaurants . A great location to start to explore the Cabot Trail. Our host was great. We needed a lobster pot for a special lobster dinner and he quickly provided us with one and a cooking burner. We had a wonderful vacation and highly recommend this cottage!
My family of 5 (3 adults, 2 children) stayed at this beautiful property for our first time in Cape Breton. The home was clean and well equipped, we had everything we needed during our stay. My children loved running to the beach in front of the home where we had nightly campfires. I loved the view! This property has a truly stunning view of the sea, the mountains, and the sunset. It was a perfect home-base for our explorations, right on the Cabot Trail. We all had a lovely time & we miss the view already! What a special place. So grateful to have been able to stay there. Thank you!
Unique property that was built for its location. Loved the open air door. We had fires on the beach and marveled at the sky. Perfect place to explore Cape Breton. Absolutely loved it!

It was everything we had hoped it would be
This cottage is truly a a wonderful place. The setting couldn't be more perfect. We wanted a place to decompress, and it fit the bill. Perfect location for exploring the Highlands and Cheticamp area. If we ever make the long trip back to Nova Scotia, we world be happy to stay here again.
Tip: you'll need to provide all your own cooking basics. The only thing provided was salt and pepper. But there is a full grocery store in Cheticamp for everything you may need.
