My only regret is that I didn't book a longer stay. This is a beautifully appointed space, the host has thought of everything and then some! Location is also ideal -near the base of the Cabot Trail, Gypsum Mine Lake, and town conveniences while being quiet and peaceful. Thank you for a lovely visit!

Was the perfect place to stay to see all of cape Breton. It's central, close to amenities, the place is just spacious enough to allow you a place to relax and be in a quiet place. It was perfect for our friend trip.

Nanook’s den is a beautiful , charming and spotless home !!! What a fantastic time we had . The yard overlooks the mountains and there is a gas grill . Love the way it was decorated !Everyhing was perfect and it had a brand new washer / dryer that really came in handy . We wish we could have stayed longer ! It couldn’t be better situated to explore the western entrance of the Cape Breton Highlands National park . Literally so close ! Great sandwich shop at end of the road called Last Chance Sandwich . You couldn’t ask for a better stay and the hosts were awesome. Do not hesitate to book . We traveled with two adult couples .

We had an absolutely wonderful 3 night stay at Nanook's Den! A perfect cabin and location for exploring the hiking trails of the Highlands and driving the scenic loop of the Cabot Trail. The house was very comfortable and had all the necessities, and more. We had made dinner reservations for several of our nights then decided to cook at home, to be able to enjoy the peaceful view from the back patio. Each room was tastefully decorated to embrace a touching connection to Alaska and the kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything you could need. It was quite warm while we were there so having air conditioning available was a real plus--as was having a full washer and dryer in the downstairs room (also great for storing bags). We walked to the Quarry from the house and hiked the Acadian and Skyline (especially nice in the late afternoon when it was less crowded) trails, and drove the full loop from Cheticamp around to Baddeck (with a fantastic lunch stop at Morrison's in North Cape) and back home one day. Another good lunch at Dancing Goat Cafe in Margaree Harbor and we picked up breakfast goodies each morning from Aucoin or Last Chance Sandwich Shop. The Highlands are a spectacular slice of heaven and we can't wait to return--and would definitely come back to Nanook's Den! P.S. We played golf at Cabot Cliffs at 4 pm the day before coming to Cheticamp--amazing course, views, and memorable sunset!

La maison dans La Prairie était parfaite pour notre famille. La propreté était impeccable, la cuisine était fonctionnelle et les lits très confortables. La cours arrière est magnifique, avec la vue sur les montagnes, et la maison est très bien située pour faire de la randonnée et profiter du village de Chéticamp. Notre seul regret est de ne pas avoir réservé une ou deux journée de plus. Nous reviendrons assurément.

Even though our stay was short, we absolutely loved this small but incredibly functional house. It was spotless, beautifully organized, and offered the perfect peaceful retreat away from town.Be sure to take the time to read the welcome book and learn about the story of Lynn’s daughter—it is both touching and inspiring. We also loved the opportunity to purchase the beautiful handmade tuques, mittens, and moccasins displayed in the house. They are truly works of art and make wonderful keepsakes.Lynn and Christian made sure we had everything we needed and were exceptional hosts. We highly recommend staying here. We only wish we could have stayed longer, but the Cabot Trail was calling us!

The house was exceptionally clean and well appointed. The location was beautiful and peaceful, but not walking distance to any restaurants. However the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and eating in. The beds were comfortable. One bedroom has two steps up to get into it, which could be an issue for some. The rooms lacked places to put luggage, so we put it on the floor or in the living room. The host communicated well. Overall, it was a nice place and I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Cape Breton.

We spent two nights here while visiting Cape Breton. It was a perfect “home away from home” for our family of four to relax and unwind after exploring nearby hikes. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend it to others.

Superbe logement, cosy, dans lequel on se sent bien. Il y avait tout ce qu'il faut pour y passer un bon moment, les équipements sont qualitatifs. Nous avons apprécié la mise à disposition de lessive, condiments, café pour pouvoir assurer nos deux jours sur place lors de notre road trip en Nouvelle Écosse. La vue sur la forêt est paisible mais notre séjour mi avril ne nous a pas permis d'en profiter comme on aurait aimé.
