Great space but lacking some amenities
Really wonderful space! Large enough to feel like a home away from home. Great views from the two balconies. Very private location. 15-20 minute drive to get groceries, pharmacies etc. The drive up to the house was simply amazing! Close to outdoor recreational spaces. Bed we slept in was very comfortable. The bathroom was huge, with two sinks. The upstairs open space would be perfect for someone who needed to catch up on work. Laundry was a breeze with the newer washer/dryer. Downsides: No drip coffee maker, just a Keurig and French press. The kitchen was not fully equipped, lacking kitchen essentials like more than one small pot, tablespoons, scissors, wooden spoons, mixing bowls, and saran wrap/tin foil. The outdoor space was quite small and therefore not well suited to our large dogs. There was no grass, just pine needles and rock. The yard was not completely fenced in which wasn't an issue for our dogs, but could be for others. We went to Fern's restaurant just down the street and the Burrowing Owl which is farther away; would highly recommend both to anyone out there who is vegan/vegetarian. We stopped off at High Roast Coffee for fresh roasted coffee beans, which we highly recommend. Also stopped off at Wimberger's German Bakery; their baked goods were simply to die for!!

Wonderful spot
The location is ideal. The duplex unit is friendly. The hosts are very considerate with amenities provided (i.e. decent mattress and stocking some household goods) and their description is accurate. You are close to attractions in the area; yet, feel far away from civilization. We had a wonderful vacation there.

Wonderful Stay!
My husband and I had a wonderful 3 night stay here and the home was perfect for us. It was equipped with everything we needed. We loved that it was nestled in the trees and that we could easily pick up food or anything we needed in Manitou Springs. We would definitely stay here again! Many thanks to the hosts!

We moved to Colorado in 2012 as an alternative to the hustle and bustle of busy, and hot, Dallas, TX. Since then, we’ve been exploring the mountains and found so much to offer. We’ve come to love this area and want you to see and feel that it’s one of the most special places in Colorado. This packet lists some of our favorite hikes and activities but is just the tip of the iceberg. If you’d like more recommendations, we would be happy to share what we can, just give us a call.

Why they chose this property

Enjoy Everything that Colorado Springs has to offer, coupled with this great location on a secluded 3.5 acre lot, close to so much more that the mountains have to offer. The scenic mountain community of Cascade is nestled among the Pikes Peak foothills just minutes from Colorado Springs. Named for nearby waterfalls, Cascade beckons to visitors as the front door to Pikes Peak, the country's most visited mountain.
Every year, more than a half-million people reach the peak's 14,110-foot summit. Cascade also houses historical businesses like the Adobe Inn at Cascade, with Southwest-style accommodations.

Hiking trails to local waterfalls include the Heizer Trail in Cascade Community Park and the Catamount Trail in Green Mountain Falls. Afterward, head to The Skinny Taco for small-batch salsa and a well-seasoned menu. Then continue on to nearby Manitou Springs, home to cliff dwellings, the Cave of the Winds and the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, the highest train in the nation. Be sure to saddle up for horseback-riding tours through the stunning Garden of the Gods, located just down the road.

What makes this property unique

Location Location Location. This area is a springboard to adventure, wildlife, mountains, and tours, including Garden of the God's, and Old Colorado City, and Manitou Springs. Oh Yeah did we mention Colorado Springs, is just minutes away!
