Excellent experience

The cabin adorable. The property was fun to explore and pick berries. The accommodations were excellent. We were able to cook meals so we didn't have to eat out all the time. Very peaceful place to spend time at. We appreciated that everything was labeled and easy to find. I would highly recommend!!

What a cute place!! This is a really charming cabin out in the Lakebay area and was perfect distance to the venue for our friend's wedding. The cabin is well equipped with all amenities, including ground coffee, sugar, toiletries, and a comfortable bed. WiFi works well and is easy to connect to. It's a quiet area with very little road noise. The only downside is the property sits in front of another cabin that has roosters, and they like to crow early in the morning. Bring ear plugs to drown them out. Would highly recommend this property if you stay in the area. Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to crash your cabin!

Amazing!

Easy process to check in. The cabin was probably even better than advertised. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay and longer. Really close to 2 state parks. We got to see a deer in the yard our first morning and what looked like a big sea otter running though at night. Highly recommend!!!!

Tiny home

I had an amazing time at the tiny home in the trees! The place was so clean and the location was perfect to go swimming either in a lake or at the state park. My mom and sister want to come back with me to stay and I will definitely recommend this place to my friends

Cozy & Perfect Stay

My daughter and I had a perfect stay at the Magic Lantern tiny house. The design was perfect for maximizing space (it didn’t feel small at all!) and all the windows really brought nature in. We enjoyed eating berries off the vine and watching the chipmunks and birds do the same. Penrose State Park has a wonderful beach (turn right at the T for the best access) as well.

Perfect stay in a cozy cabin in the woods.

Michelle’s cabin was private, clean, and perfectly equipped for a multi-day stay. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked, and we were constantly surprised by the thoughtfulness of the amenities. Great communications and better than the description. 10/10 would stay again.

We stayed for a couple days and enjoyed the tiny house in the woods. Comfortable and quiet. Also, ADA accessable, which was a must for us because my daughter is currently on crutches. Well stocked kitchen, hot water, comfortable beds. Very clean.

Beautiful forest getaway

Get away from it all in a charming tiny home cabin (that doesn’t feel at all tiny). Extremely clean, well appointed, light filled, comfortable cabin - in the woods but not completely isolated. Wildlife sightings, Penrose Point State Park very close. Responsive host. Green all around. Rejuvenating. My cousin visiting from LA, and I from Portland, LOVED our stay! Highly recommend!

Oasis in the woods

We loved our stay at this beautifully constructed and thoughtfully designed cabin. The house was super clean, super comfortable, and had everything our family of four might have needed. Our youngest has some mobility impairments so the accessibility features were really helpful. And we all loved the tall trees! Thank you so much, Michelle! Hope to visit again in the future!

What a Joy

This house was so comfy and inviting. All amenities were thought of. And it was so close to family. Everything was just wonderful. Master bed was more comfy than our bed at home. Thank you Michelle for sharing your tiny home with us. A return visit is definitely in the future.

Cozy

We stayed for 1wk and we absolutely loved it. Cozy, warm little cabin in the woods with all the essentials. Perfect getaway for my spouse and I. Location was great too, a little far away from State Parks and Seattle but we loved the distance from any hustle and bustle. Still able to easily drive and check out Rainier National Park, Seattle, Olympic National Park, Hoh National Forest also numerous Disc Golf Courses. Thank you for this stress free experience!

A fairy-tale cabin!

The cabin was wonderful! It was clean, well stocked, and private. I got there late at night and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see a thing. But Michelle left the lights on for me. So I was greeted by a cozy, well lit cabin that was surrounded by all the outdoor lights. We had a terrific time. Barbecued on the grill and made a bonfire one evening. It felt like a magical place to rest and unwind. We will definitely be going back!!

Family Connection Spot

This place was adorable and perfect for our needs. Myself my hubs and our daughters 7and 8. They Loved the loft bedroom and especially the mini fridge which could literally fit a couple capri suns, an apple, and yeah,a package of microwave popcorn. The beds are super comfy, the entire place is very clean and it is just an all around magical place. The living room is tiny, which was just fine for us. We spent a lot of time on the cozy covered porch playing cards and just being together. My daughter Juniper spent literally hours picking blackberries on the property and both the girls had a blast just exploring all the sweet magic. The water is so close. We spent our 1 full day at the bay playing in the water and exploring the beautiful trails. This was just what our little family needed right before the the start of the school year. The kitchen is stocked with decent knives (we have learned to pack our own just in case)along with tongs and all the other kitchen essentials. My hubs has been a cook for 25yrs so this is essential for us. One thing to note, the main road is closer than expected so there is some traffic noise during the day. This was not an issue for us, however if youre looking for a zen getaway, it may be distracting. Also, the local tiny mart is astronomically over priced. So come completely prepared. It is just basically a gas station without the gas and we had to pay $10 for a bag of marshmellows! So bring all the things! Overall, loved it!!!

This fabulous Tiny House is really not that tiny!

I am fascinated about tiny homes! Even more so after being here. When we walked I was so impressed that I messaged Michelle to see if we could stay a 3rd night. Here’s what i didn’t expect from a Tiny Home: * Two queen bedrooms! * The master bedroom is on the main floor, next to the bathroom. It has a pull out TV, bed stands with reading lamps on both sides, lots of drawer and closet space to hang your clothes. * A good sized bathroom with decent counter space and a very nice large shower. * The second queen bedroom in the loft is accessed by stairs, not a ladder. It’s a good size room with lower ceiling clearance, but large enough for a little table. * Dimmers on most all lighting. * The large deck is partially covered and wraps around one side of the home with nice outdoor furniture and lighting. * Lots of windows that open with forest views, high ceilings in most rooms make the home feel so much larger. * A living room with comfortable seating and Smart TV where we could watch the Seahawks. * ADA compliant (American Disability Act) . The property is fabulously secluded. The driveway is lit up with festive white lights. The home is very clean, tastefully decorated, not cluttered. Drawers are labeled with access to extra extra blankets and pillows. Pots, pans and dishes are all in great condition and there are 3 ways to make coffee! Michelle was great to communicate with and very quick with her responses. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Michelle!

This cabin is PERFECTION! There are not enough adjectives to explain how wonderful our stay was. Sitting on the deck was so peaceful and calm. This is the perfect place to take a deep breath and let all your stress melt away. The owners have thought of everything from all of the amenities to helpful information throughout the cabin. The close proximity to two state parks was also a bonus. We will definitely be back, often!

Welcome everyone! We hope to see you soon. I grew up in Spokane and have been in Kitsap county for nearly 30 years. We recently sold our sailboat (25 years of sailing the Salish Sea) and fulfilled another dream of traveling and camping in our Pleasure Way Sprinter Van. Our own travel experiences (both near and far) has given us a passion for providing great hospitality. Our tiny home, the Magic Lantern is our expression. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

The Magic Lantern is a piece of land you never want to leave. So comfortable, so open feeling and a really well made tiny home on a small knoll. It comes alive at night with the glow of the lighting and all the outdoor decorative lights. Everyone loves it. The property is amazing and filled with very large cedars and Douglas firs. The trees are fantastic and home to deer that we often see. 2 acres of private property, includes a RV site at the bottom of the hill.
We are just a couple of blocks from Penrose Point State Park. This gorgeous park provides beach access and easy trails with spectacular views. Don’t miss a visit here.

What makes this property unique

Our guests describe their visit with words like- peaceful, private, beautiful, soothing and relaxing. Everyone mentions the very large cedars. Most people see deer, numerous birds, otters, bats. Remember we are wooded and bears, coyote, cougars and bobcats also call this area home. Conveniently located by Penrose State Park for hiking and beach access (clamming when in season!). Bay Lake has natural and stocked fish. Trails in many areas and several places for your kayak launch. Only an hour from Hood Canal and the start of all the Olympics have to offer in the area.
