We're really sorry the jet noise disrupted your evening, especially with your dog along. We completely understand how unpleasant that must have been. As mentioned in our listing, our home sits on beautiful Whidbey Island, which is also home to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, an active military base. The evening of August 25 coincided with the Navy's publicly posted carrier landing training window (late afternoon to late night) — a scheduled training evening that's simply part of life on the island and, unfortunately, beyond our control. Most nights here are quiet and peaceful, but on training evenings the jets do make themselves heard. We genuinely wish your stay had been quieter, and we're grateful you chose our home. Wishing you and your dog many peaceful travels ahead!

We completely understand how unsettling that can be, especially when you're expecting a quiet getaway. We are hoping for your understanding that the information about the home being near the Outlying Landing Field (OLF), where the F-18 jets from NAS Whidbey Island occasionally train was indicated on our listing description. We do our best to be transparent in our listing so guests can be aware ahead of time, but we understand that this can still be uncomfortably loud in person. We have confirmed with the cleaner that there were flashlights at home and they are located in the kitchen drawer.
