Lofted Studio Apartment nestled in the Whitefish Mountain Range.

This beautiful apartment is nestled in the woods with views of Trumbull Creek. Our location is just a short 15 minute drive to downtown Whitefish and 30 minutes from Whitefish Mountain Resort, where outdoor enthusiast can hike, bike, or ski. We are located 30 minutes from the gateway to beautiful Glacier National Park.
Schaeffer Mountain offers a relaxing location in the Whitefish Range of the Rocky Mountains. Our Apartment is 750 sq feet of living space with 175 sq feet of deck and roughly 1/2 acre of landscaped timber. Our rustic sheik apartment offers a full kitchen with new appliances for those looking to cook while on vacation. Private deck that over looks the camping and fire pit for those that choice to enjoy the true Montana experience of outdoor living . A charcoal and gas burning grill is available for you during your stay.
The apartment comfortably sleeps 5 with king bed in the main studio area, a full bed located in a bonus room and we also offer the use of an air mattress upon request.
The living space is fully furnished with new coach and chair.
Enjoy the lighted path to the fire pit where you can star gaze, enjoy a roasted marshmallow, or a beverage of choice. Fire wood will be provide, due to no fire wood cutting or gathering on the property!
Our property boarders FH Stoltz which allows for public access for hiking, biking, fishing in Trumbull Creek, Cross Country Skiing, Snow Shoeing, and also hunting. Hunting is not permitted on the property.

Lovely cabin in Columbia Falls

We adored this cabin. It was just a short drive to nearby Columbia Falls and the west entrance to Glacier NP. Also spotlessly clean and stocked with all of the amenities we needed to make our stay perfect. Very secluded and quiet - we enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and bbq grill as well.

Super quiet and so lovely

This property is exactly as it says. My family and I had a very enjoyable stay. This home was clean, quiet and even being attached to the owner garage, it is still very private. My inly complaint is the road to the home is a dirt road that is extremly bumpy.

Great Stay

We had a wonderful time staying at the apartment. It was clean, and everything was better than advertised. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. Beautiful, quiet setting and great access to the park, Whitefish, Kalispell, and Columbia Falls. Only 17 minutes to the airport, but you feel like you are in the Montana wilderness. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

A Relaxing Retreat

My mom, daughter, and I stayed here for a girls trip and absolutely loved it. The property is comfortable, and the hosts are both helpful and thoughtful. The beds and bedding were comfortable, furnishings were cozy, supplies were generous, and the property was very clean and just lovely inside and out. The hosts offered suggestions for places to eat and nice little touches like a welcome tin with goodies for smores, wifi access, and a suggestion box. I especially enjoyed being able to have breakfast on the deck chairs and taking in the natural surroundings. Would definitely stay again!

Great cabin style lodge

Our family loved this place. It's nestled back in a wooded area and has a log cabin feel. Really nice fire pit area and the host had everything all set up for us.

We had a wonderful stay at Ben's property. The location was beautiful and quiet - an excellent jumping off point for visiting Glacier and a comfortable place to relax after a day of hiking. We'd happily stay again!

Cleanest property I've ever stayed in!

Exceptionally clean property with all the basic items you would need for a stay of any length. Great proximity to whitefish, Colombia falls and glacier national park. A very quiet and secluded location.

The Perfect Spot

We loved our stay at Ben’s! The place has plenty of room and is cozy at the same time. The full kitchen allowed us to make breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed the ready-to-go campfire and smores package. This was a great spot that allowed easy access back to Glacier National and also to Whitefish for excellent food. We intend to spend time in this area again and will look to this property first. We happened to leave a carry-on bag and Ben has been so kind to ship it back to us. I guess we were excited for the next adventure in Banff! Highly recommend!!

This place is SUPER clean! It might not be easy to tell from the pics but you will be staying in an upstairs spot and someone lives in the downstairs spot. They enter from the other side of the building and are blocked off - a separate driveway - with fencing and black material walls/fence to keep your outside areas private. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and s’mores fixings and all the firewood we needed. Super clean and such a great spot for just me and my husband.

Short but sweet

While we were only in the area for a couple of days, we found staying in the studio to be extremely comfortable and roomy. It is really well designed and has everything you'd want for an enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

Great apartment with cabin feel

We stayed here three nights and loved it! Not too bad of a drive to Glacier National Park. The apartment had all we needed with great amenities: kitchen, bedrooms (extra air mattress to use), bathroom, and laundry. We enjoyed the fire pit and the s’mores supplies. Definitely a great place to stay while exploring the area, would recommend in a second!

Hospitality at its Finest

We could not be more pleased with our stay! Ben and his wife were the most gracious hosts we've ever experienced in all our years with vrbo. They literally did everything over and above, such a wonderful property. We loved the location, so convenient to Glacier! Great night's sleep in quiet surroundings. Everything was perfect. Our son had lots of fun exploring the nearby woods and creek area as well.

Beautiful cabin like loft!!

The property was exactly as described. Although it is attached to property owners, we still felt nice and secluded in our little private area, never even seeing anyone else. The inside was beautiful, the beds very comfortable. The outside is peaceful and quiet. The owners were so thoughtful providing everything to make s’mores, and getting the fire pit all prepared while we were out so it was easy to start! And super helpful when we had to change our dates after booking, they made it easy. We would absolutely stay here again!

Very charming, comfortable, cozy and inviting. Very nice homey touches throughout the property. It was a great place to retreat to after long days of hiking in GNP. We didn't have time to enjoy the fire pit but it sure looked nice. We enjoyed seeing/watching the family of deer in the yard. We did set off the smoke detector (twice) while toasting bagels in the morning. We should have moved the toaster to the other side of the counter so it wasn't directly underneath the smoke detector. Hope we didn't disturb the host family. Highly recommend this very nice property for staying near Columbia Falls.

A wonderful place to call home for a week

We booked this rental as our home base while we explored Glacier National Park and the Whitefish area and were extremely happy with our choice! The host was friendly and quickly responsive to any questions we had. The property was very clean,comfortable, and so pleasantly decorated. It felt isolated with a great view of the woods and was very quiet, even though it was attached to another property. Be prepared to drive a bit on a bumpy dirt road to get to there. We had what we needed to prepare meals and enjoy our morning coffee (Keurig). We greatly appreciated the washer and dryer after our dirty hikes. The king bed was very comfortable. They had unexpected items like bear spray (used ours), bug spray, cooler, hiking poles,ROKU. The drive from to Two Medicine NP entrance was about 1 hr 40 min, to Apgar Visitor Center 35-40 min, and to Many Glacier entrance through Browning about 3 hours. The drives were scenic so we didnt mind all of the driving to get to our planned hikes. We definitely recommend going to Many Glacier to do the Grinnell Glacier trail hike but all of the others we did were great as well. Check out Backslope Brewery in Columbia Falls for some excellent beer brewed onsite and great food! We dont usually eat much fried food but their pickle brined chicken sandwich and Bistro burger were so good that we went there twice for the same meal. Overall, the property was just what we were looking for as a home base and we would return for sure if we travel to the area.

Above and Beyond!

What an incredible experience! The hosts did absolutely everything they could to make this experience top-notch and they succeeded. From the perfect setup around the fire pit to the pristine condition of the property, everything was wonderful. I loved the setting in the woods - feeling away from “civilization” while still having nearby access to grocery, restaurants, etc. The cabin’s decor was lovely and the amenities were fabulous. Our hosts were accessible for anything we needed but gave us a complete privacy during the stay. It rained our first day so the chairs and cut wood around the fire pit got wet. When we returned from our hike, we were delighted to find a note telling us we had dry chairs and fresh kindling/wood. We were able to end our day around a beautiful campfire looking at the stars. Who could ask for more? I will be back without question!

Enjoyed Modern Loft Cabin

We loved the loft cabin which appeared brand new with modern amenities and furnishings. It was very roomy for two (could easily accommodate 2 couples or family of 4 or 5) and very comfortable. The cabin was very well but simply equipped with everything we needed. We continually commented on how well everything was built and furnished. It provided a great base for our exploration of Glacier National Park, Whitefish and The Bison Range. The outdoor fire pit area was very inviting surrounded by towering evergreens, flagstone paved, excellent fire pit and camp chairs provided. We enjoyed the provided wood and s’mores supplies. The owners who also live on the property reset the fire every day! Although we never saw them they were very responsive and provided a couple of space heaters when we were concerned about chilly mornings ( there are other heating systems for winter). We would definitely recommend this property just be aware that the last couple miles approaching the cabin are gravel.

New gorgeous private lofted log cabin near Glacier

We absolutely loved this property. Yes it's built on top of the owners house but they did an excellent job making it a private entrance and we never could even tell they were there. We were looking for a secluded cabin in the woods (and not in a parking lot surrounded by other cabins and people.) This was perfect! Very secluded in the woods and such beautiful surroundings. I would love to stay here over and over if we lived closer. It was extremely clean inside and felt brand new. The owners even had a fire ring, wood, and benches and supplies to roast s'mores over a ccampfire. Which was very relaxing and a lovely treat after returning from a long day in Glacier National park. Inside was also spacious enough all 5 of us had room to lounge and relax. It felt like being in a big treehouse, although once inside it felt like a sturdy spacious cabin. Highly recommend! I'd love for this to be my own vacation getaway and come frequently!
