This was the perfect little place for my husband and I to have a quick little getaway. We had so much fun seeing all the alpacas and other little animals. Perfect location between St. Mary’s and Emporium making it easy for us to travel back and forth between attractions.
Husband and I had a wonderful stay at this cute little red barn/ alpaca farm!!!
Robin was a wonderful host who actually taught us a few things about the animals and farming. We are grateful to have had this wonderful experience!! Will come back again !!!
My favorite part of coming to pa yearly is put phones down because you have no service anyway and enjoy the beautiful land! The property with goats alpaca and friendly cats!
Alpacas, Goats, Cats, Ducks and a Rooster- Perfect Farm Getaway!
We stayed here instead of Benezettte to see the animals! Anything you’d need is there. We didn’t have any issue with the slight smell and honestly I hate all smells and only noticed it the first time we walked in! The STARS!! Amazing! The rooster woke us up but what do you expect on a farm haha! Robyn is very kind, friendly and helpful!
We loved being off grid, just wish we hadn’t ended up having 90 degree weather that week! Still, we were able to talk, read from actual books, and give our eyes a break from screens. The alpaca’s and goats, cats and ducks, all were delightful sights to see and hear which added to our relaxation! We’d love to come back!!
Everything great. We arrived in the dark and fumbled with the lack of lighting. We are older and not as nimble as we once were :)
A light on by the side door would have been terrific.
Loved flipping on light and seeing the kiddos!
Thanks!
We were a bit bummed nothing stayed in the barn and there were no animals to see while we were there. And it was a bit shockinf to find the bathroom door doesnt cover the doorway😅 But the property is lovely! The location is great! Everything was clean, working and obviously cared for! And the bed was so comfortable. Great place to unplug! Wed be happy to stay again when theres more time to enjoy it all!
This place was what we needed. The stars at night and the farm animals by day were very inviting. For those who wonder about privacy, there was no need to ask the hosts on the property for anything. If it weren't for me seeing him feed the chickens and ducks, I don't think I would have known they were there. We were also greeted by Loki, an affectionate cat that allowed us to take him in. We played games together and enjoyed the atmosphere.
The kids loved the animals. We just recently acquired a stray kitten and so the kids loved having our visitor Loki. They were also excited to see what other animals could be viewed from the apartment. Only down fall (with no fault to the owners) was the lack of service in parts. Did not discover until we were leaving that we could get some service on the porch but none inside the building. My 6 year old said he was sad to be going home. ☺️

We saw one review that mentioned something about the animal smell upstairs, but thought they might have been a "city sleeker". My wife and I both grew up on a farm so we can handle some animal smell, but the animal smell was horrible upstairs. We ended up going to a motel instead. I was able to contact Robin about the smell. I did give a few suggestions to try to minimize the smell. They did refund us most of the money, which we very much appreciated!
Was a great place to enjoy the fall colors and night sky. Took a walk by the pond and stream and enjoyed all the critters on the farm. Place was comfy and fun.
We had fun looking at stars, relaxing, and watching the alpacas. There were goats, chickens, and a cat named Loki. He was fed well.Everything was not very far away. The landscape was absolutely stunning. Beautiful time of year!
Super relaxing. Loved the roosters crowing and the little orange welcome kitty. Pet friendly was refreshing. NO TV was the best surprise! The cool air at night made for a great nights sleep!
This was a pleasant surprise. The unit is spacious, clean and well-appointed. All instructions were clear and easy to follow. I really loved the star-gazing opportunity and, of course, the animals. My doggos loved the aromas of the farm :) Thank you so much for a great adventure. Only minus was my own fault since I didn't focus on how far the unit was from State College.
We had the most wonderful stay with Robin and the crew. We were lucky enough to help her milk one of her goats. The night’s were beautifully cool and beds were comfy. It was so peaceful just the break from busy suburban life we needed.
My husband and I enjoyed this cute little unit as a getaway during our visit to Emporium. The farm is very scenic and is located right along the West Creek Rail Trail - which I highly recommend for biking or jogging! The farm animals were very amusing to watch. We were here in July, and as the listing mentions, there was no AC. Thankfully it was overcast, but it was still pretty warm for us. Other should keep that in mind when visiting.Robin was very communicative and accommodating, working with her was super easy. We would stay here again!

About the host
Hosted by Robin Kuleck
My husband Mike and I bought the Filling property in 2007 to fulfill my dream of owning a farm with alpacas. I enjoy creating - whether it is knitting, crocheting, tatting, and now weaving.... having fiber animals seemed a natural extension. I have followed a circuitous career path, registered nurse, family & consumer science (home economics) teacher and certified financial planner. Mike is retired and I am the certified school nurse with the Cameron County School District as well as owner of Kuleck Financial Planning.
Why they chose this property
Over the years we created an oasis that we are now able to share with others by providing an apartment rental without internet and limited cell service. Visitors to the Pennsylvania Wilds will experience country life in Cameron County where the state owns about 80% of the land in state game lands, state parks and state forests.
What makes this property unique
The farm is bordered by the Rails to Trails connecting Emporium to St. Marys. The West Creek Branch of the Susquehanna river runs through the property. We have a stocked fish pond for catch and release of small and large mouth bass. Flower and vegetable garden, apple orchard and about 16 acres of fenced pastures for the alpacas and dairy goats to graze on. Visitors often take in the Cherry Springs Dark Skies, Kinzua Railroad Bridge, Allegany National Forest and the Elk Visitor Center in Benezette PA.
