Wonderful place to stay!

This was a great place in a perfect location! Very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The water pressure in the guest bathroom sink was bad but other than that, it was great!

Great area and property

We love this place! This was our second year. We heard it will be 28 day rentals only starting at Christmas and we are heartbroken.

Perfect location!

We had the best stay at this condo! We had stayed in a different unit in January. We thoroughly enjoyed it until we stayed here. A huge deck and 5 steps to the swimming pool. The unit was just what we were looking for. Very comfortable and well equipped. The location to restaurants and Mallory Square is perfect. We love to watch the cruise ships come in! Can’t wait to stay here again! The customer service was top notch too!

Comfortable. Great location and beautiful grounds and pool area!

The condo unit itself is comfortable. The master bathroom needs some maintenance (the toilet is not properly fastened to the floor, the drain stopper on one of the sinks does not work). But the proximity to Duval St and other KW sites is fantastic. The grounds and pool area are gorgeous and right on the water. The deck is wonderful. Overall the unit is very nice. Had a great time here!

Perfect location!

The location of this property is second to none! It is within walking distance of the best that Key West has to offer. The unit also has excellent amenities. It is located just steps to the pool while maintaining privacy. The outdoor terrace is huge. The parking garage is also situated very close to the unit so there wasn’t a hassle lugging bags very far. It was quiet and family friendly. Communication from the property management was spectacular. We feel like we made a great choice staying here and will rebook in the future. Our only critique is that the unit is a bit dated, but everything is in perfect working order and had everything we needed.

Sundown Refuge - Sept 2023

Condo located in Truman Annex and close to everything in KW. Enjoyed daily walk to Cuban Coffee Queen in Mallory Sq. Overall had a wonderful trip. Lisa in the office was awesome. She was very helpful in our surprise of our guests. Just a few things needed to be done to condo... - Sink Faucet in Hallway Bathroom has very low pressure. - Gate to Deck needs to be fixed. Bottom Hinge coming away from wall and is sagging. Otherwise a Great Trip was had by all. Would definitely return to Sundown Refuge

Always a great time in Key West!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time using your company and I will say very friendly and easy to work with. Lida was very responsive and kind. Location was perfect. A couple items need addressed. Toilets kept running each time you flushed. Had to open the tanks to fix each time. Kitchen sink needs to be looked at. The faucet needs replaced or fixed. and the bath tub needs some drain work. Although your instructions said to park in 9, security told us to park elsewhere. We followed your guidelines. Lastly a resident was upset with us for laughing in the hall at 6pm on our first evening - we were to loud I guess. So we never used the front door again. I’d probably not rent at this location in order to avoid “residents” who clearly aren’t tourist friendly. We apologized but fear that wasn’t good enough.

Good location, bad service

This property is managed by a company. The company is closed on weekends. Most renters checking in and out are on the weekend. They gave us keys that did not work to the exterior gates. We had to walk .5 mile to the main gate to exit the complex and .5 back from the main gate to the unit the first two days. They brought us keys that worked on the THIRD day. If you are going to check people in and out at least hire someone to take care of the renters if you are closed. Someone should of brought me the correct keys on day ONE. That’s what I paid for. Nowhere in the listing does it say that if they screw up, you’ll have to wait until we reopen to fix. I even called their emergency number which they said they couldn’t answer because they were closed. VRBO should not allow listings from these types of properties that aren’t even open to service what they rent. Service should be available for every day that you stay.

Sandi, Thank you for leaving a review. We do take every single guest comment very seriously. We are a small local company known for excellent guest services and having many repeat clients. Our office is open during season (also during your stay) till 4PM on Saturdays but closed on Sundays, open regular business hours during the week. We do have a 24 hour emergency line so we can be reached at any time should any of our guests experience issues. This information is given to our guests prior to their arrival, it is included in their check-in packet and is also part of our after office hours voicemail recording. Your party was given the correct and working keys at the time of the check-in, they were returned to us bended and damaged by inappropriate usage which caused them to become unusable. We have provided you with a new gate key upon your request. However we felt that the amount of calls and emails (and the tone) received even after the issue was already resolved was highly inappropriate. We hope that your stay was otherwise pleasant.

We enjoyed our stay and would return again. There were some minor issues that if the unit was mine Id correct. None oof these are severe enough to cause us to not return but the are issues that the owner may want to address. All minor issues that probably wouldnt be noticed except during an extended stay. Comments are only intended to make the owner/maintenance aware to improve. The unit is nice and conveiently located. Easy access to the pool. Easy access to KW amenaties. (Food, drink, entertainment, sunset views.)Improvement notes for Owner/Maintenance:General:1. Toilet paper - there wasnt enough for 4 people for 7 days. It should be better stocked.2. There weren't sufficient trash bags for the kitchen.Plumbing:1. The kitchen sink faucet is loose in its mount. May cause a real problem later.2. The toilets (both) "rocked" on thier mounts. This will lead to failure of the wax base seals. The toilet bases should be shimmed and sealed to the floor.3. The bathroom sink faucets show thier age and should be a updated (loose handle parts and clogged aireator screens)4. There is low pressure and not very hot water in the "guest"bathroom shower.5. The Jacuzzi drain in the master bath wouldnt stay in the closed position (temporary solution quickly and satisfactorily resolved by Avant Maintenence)Electrical:1. Vanity Light bulb out in the master bath.2. Lamps with 3 way bulbs are down to 1 setting or the lamp on the bar is not working at all

We truly appreciate you constructively outlining these items, as your notes are helpful for the owner and maintenance team to continue improving the experience, especially for longer stays. We’re also glad our maintenance team was able to promptly assist with the jacuzzi drain during your visit. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and for your thoughtful comments.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love the location and the condo. Perfect for 2 couples. Only issue was our initial entry. The door has a handle that does not rotate which is confusing. There is a key operated dead bolt and a second key operated device to open the door. With three devices, we couldn't figure out how to operate the door. Finally got lucky and had the dead bolt in the unlock position at the same time the other key operated the door. We gave up on the handle. The view of the harbor was better a few years ago. the trees and shrubbery obscure the view now.

Prime Location

This condo is in one of the most prime locations you can get in Key West, 2 blocks to Mallory Square, 2 blocks to lower Duvall St, endless choices for dinning, bars, music venues, shops, museums. Step out the back patio and there's the pool, continue down the pathway another 75 ft and you are in the Marina. The pool was heated and great, not too busy. The condo all in all served us well, beds were great, kitchen was stocked with all that we needed. Only draw back would be the furniture overall, the living room furniture is less than comfortable and of course that's a place you spend a good deal of time when at the property, the patio is massive and has stunning views but it equipped with low end plastic chairs and table. It's not enough to keep us away, we would return to this property.

Great location!

Excellent location - close to everything and still quiet enough to sleep at night. Can’t enter property until 4 PM and no place to store luggage if you come in on Saturday so plan flights accordingly. Master bath toilet still not working appropriately - just pull handle up after a bit and it will shut off. Overall great trip!

Enjoyed every minute of our stay

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in Key West, and couldn’t have been happier with our accommodations. The condo was spacious, very secure, yet close to all the action. This was the first time we stayed in the Truman Annex; all of our other stays had been in bed and breakfasts right on Duval way back in the days before my husband and I had children. This condo was an excellent choice for us now that we returned with a family since it had the perfect amount of space, and being in the gated Truman Annex provided extra sense of protection since now that we had 14 year old girls and an 11 year old boy. The pool was wonderful, the view excellent, and the deck was fabulous. We loved the proximity to and the private entrance from our deck to the pool. The only issues we had with our stay were the toilets, and the parking spot we were given was very tricky to maneuver, but to be clear neither were the fault of the property owner. Maintainance fixed the toilet immediately (but it was an ongoing problem) and said to use toilet paper sparingly and not to flush any other products (which we never did) down the toilet because water pressure with the toilets on the island can be a problem. Also, the parking deck has VERY tight spaces due to concrete pillars, so word of advice would be to not rent an SUV for your vacation. Our experience with the property was wonderful, and when we had small issues the property management responded to us immediately and were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again, and the family can’t wait to return!
