We stayed three nights while visiting Yellowstone. It was less than half an hour to the North Entrance. The schoolhouse is just as nice as the pictures show it to be. The setting is so quiet and peaceful and the schoolhouse was nice and cozy. I highly recommend staying here. The host was easy to work with and the driving directions were easy to follow.
Very nice place to stay with a lot of history. We were pleased that all the essentials (including bear spray) were thought of and included. It was so nice to unplug and spend time in the mornings drinking coffee on the porch and looking at the mountains. The location was perfect for what we were looking for! It was far enough away from people to feel secluded, but still close to Yellowstone/town for necessities and dinner when we wanted. We will absolutely be back.
A Beautiful Space! Unlike anything you would experience at some Inn. It felt like I was a child in the 90s again left with just my imagination! We loved the views and the ability to unplug for a few days! We would gladly do it again! & we could never forget HARPER! The wonderful dog on the property! We loved him!
If you love peace and quiet, history or great restoration/design, you will love this stay. The old log cabin has been carefully restored and so many details were accounted for. It was cozy, comfortable, and easy to find. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The 5 country miles were not an issue for my husband, but if you aren’t used to rugged roads, just take it slow! It will be worth the drive!
Remote cozy cabin, quiet countryside. Drive was a beautiful gravel road with stream views, narrow in places but did not bother us as we are used to gravel. Great history with the cabin being an old school house. Good location for visiting North half of Yellowstone.
Great getaway for our 40th anniversary. Amazing views to drink coffee in the early morning and a drink in the evening after a long day seeing Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons
We had an amazing stay! It was nice and cozy inside and plenty of open space to enjoy the outdoors. Loved the rocking chairs on the front porch! Very comfortable bed, and the place was well-stocked with everything we needed!

the property is cute if you're looking for an "off the grid" experience.
Beautiful views and a great location, close to the north Yellowstone entrance and the town of Gardiner. The kitchen was small but had everything you could need and the property manager was great.
This historic ranch is perfect if you’re craving some quiet time. No TV, no cell service, no Wi-Fi. Get back to nature and take in the views. We stayed three nights which I learned is about my limit without communication, however, we LOVED it! The schoolhouse is located on the same property as the owner’s house and other rental cabins. Stacy is a fabulous host, she was available and incredibly nice. Tyler guided our trail ride, he’s knowledgable and has very nice quality horses. We recommend this family ranch for a stay or just a trail ride. It was a favorite memory on our recent trip. If you must have cell service, it’s available at the nearby town of Gardiner.
We love staying at the school house. This was our fourth year staying here. Place is spotlessly clean, scenery is spectacular and the hostess is amazing. We will be back next year!
The renovated schoolhouse was a dream stay for this retired teacher! I loved all the history and added touches with the decor. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing! The proximity to Yellowstone plus the remote feel of the cabin set on the ranch gave us everything you could want in a vacation. We saw a bear cub along the road to the cabin on 3 separate occasions. Harper’s visits to our front porch were the best!
The 1916 schoolhouse cabin has been perfectly remodeled to give you everything you need to get away from a hectic life, while preseving the character and history of the schoolhouse. Sits atop a small hill, surrounded by the mountains.
Such a cozy place to unplug and enjoy nature! We loved how peaceful and beautiful the mountain scenery was! We saw mule deer and elk on the property, and we loved the owner’s sweet dog who greeted us when we first arrived. The schoolhouse was charming with lots of little details to make our stay comfortable. Stacy was very responsive if we needed her, but gave us plenty of privacy. We enjoyed our trail-ride and were so impressed with how well-trained and patient the horses were, especially with unpredictable Montana weather. Our guide was great and we enjoyed her stories about the property’s history. If you’re not accustomed to driving in the mountains, I would suggest checking in during daylight hours. The road leading to the ranch is a winding, remote mountain road. Not a problem, just a bit easier to navigate in the daytime the first time you drive it. That being said, it was very easy to get to Gardiner and Yellowstone, and we enjoyed having a relaxing place to stay away from the crowds.
