Everything was perfect ! Super clean and a perfectly stocked and outstanding kitchen to cook in. The sounds of nature , the view , the house, the fire pit , the pond. Can’t wait to return!
This home and property is everything that was stated in the description. So much room for our 6 adult family members. The home was spotless and had everything we needed and wanted. We spent a lot of time of the deck overlooking the beautiful property and rolling hills. Sunrises were spectacular. We will definitely be back to this property!
The property was beautiful, had every amenity we needed, and was absolutely perfect for our family vacation! The kids loved fishing at the pond and walking the trails. The adults relaxed by the fire pit and took in the views. It was one for the memory books. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!
Exceptional property, we had zero issues really for the most part. Owner was very accommodating and responsive. We will consider the same property for next years trip. Money well spent!
We really enjoyed staying at this property. The home is beautiful and spacious. The property is a combination of open grass areas, pond, forest and trails. Everything was well kept.
The house & property are amazing! The views from the deck & all the rooms-also incredible. We were able to watch the sunrise both morning's from the deck. The family loved the lake. Lily pad & kayak were a great addition. House was clean & beds were very comfortable. It was the perfect setting! Highly recommend.
This property was perfect for a weekend away with family! The home is spacious, welcoming, amenities galore (the owners didn’t miss a thing), and the views absolutely stunning.
Great house on a beautiful property just outside of Elizabeth, Illinois. It's a 50 acre property with great views from the house over the rolling countryside. Lots of space to hike the property and let the dogs run, very quiet and secluded. Not too far from Galena (about 30 minutes). Be prepared for lots of bugs.
Our family really enjoyed our stay. There is a perfect mix of things to do (hiking, fishing, playing games) and time to just relax. The view is amazing! Galena is just 20 minutes down the road. Will definitely stay again!
We would like to keep this place a secret as it was one of our best VRBO experiences. The home is beautiful, spacious, well equipped and overlooking a quiet/peaceful setting. Sarah (owner) was pleasant and prompt in responding to our questions. We'd stay here again and will recommend to family and friends.

Perfect guests! I made a mistake of putting a 4 star rating under house rules-sadly I not vrbo can’t edit it once posted. I Want any other owner to know they were kind, respectful and took great care of the property while there.
Stayed at this house for a quick family getaway. Very peaceful, quiet and pretty location, with great views of the rolling terrain from the large windows and the large walk-out deck. This is a beautiful house that is very well appointed with games and activities, and is about a 30 minute drive to Galena. Would definitely recommend/stay here again.
This property was amazing ! Home was incredibly stocked and prepared for every need possible and really clean! We hated to leave it was gorgeous! Owners were very helpful and kind always super responsive to any questions we may have had ! A true Galena gem thank you so much ! We are hoping to be back again in future !

We got away from the Chicago suburbs for a long family birthday celebration.. The stay exceeded expectations.
The house had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was loaded with items you would need.
There were nice walking trails and a lovely pond.
The place was warm and inviting. Highly recommend!
Great house and property really enjoyed the relaxing time we spent there.a little fishing hiking relaxing around the fire pit . Sitting on the deck watching hummingbirds house is very clean and comfortable plenty of room to spend time together and enough room for privacy.only. Views are beautiful. House is easy to find well kept property. I would stay here again thank you
Beautiful home with the most gorgeous view! We spent a lot of time on the trails and fishing in the pond. The open floor plan made it easy to enjoy using the chefs kitchen while still feeling connected to the rest of the family watching the football game. It was really quiet and peaceful, and we couldn't recommend this place more. The
We spent a long weekend at this glorious property with 2 other couples. The house is impeccably decorated, warm and inviting, with plenty of room to spread out. We stayed in and cooked all of our meals out of the exceptionally well-stocked and thoroughly labeled kitchen. Made good use out of the beautiful fireplace and comfortable furniture, all placed to make the most of the space and views. The property grounds are extremely inviting; we were blessed enough to have warm weather in February and were able to take advantage of the trails, fire pit and balcony overlooking the hills of Elizabeth. We’ve rented many houses over the years, this was by far my favorite and we will be back!

We are so happy your group was able to enjoy our home away from home. It makes us so happy to share rush creek with others and hear how it brought them joy, thank you! Each time we go ourselves we find something to bring a little more enjoyment, a little more comfort, a little more beauty and interest to every nook.
Happy to host your group again anytime!
Rush Creek Farm is a beautiful home and property. My spouse and I spent 3 nights there with our dog. We had a great time with our small group, but the house can easily accommodate many more people comfortably. The house was immaculately clean and furnished with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, and the outdoor grill (Weber Genesis) was excellent. The beds and furnishings were extremely comfortable. The fireplace and deck were perfect for the early spring weather. We watched a gorgeous sunrise each day from the living room and primary bedroom. There are lovely views from every window - even the powder room and laundry room! There are so many ways to entertain yourselves while there; we enjoyed bags, shuffleboard, and hiking the miles of trails on the property, but we barely scratched the surface of things to do there. The location is excellent, close to Apple River Canyon State Park, Mississippi Palisades, Galena, wineries, and much more. We can't wait to come again, hopefully with a larger group next time.
We had a really fun stay at the Farm. The drive up and the lot it’s on are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The house seems relatively new and is well appointed. Everything was clean and spacious, and we really appreciated all the toys/games/activities for the kiddos.
The only things we’d mention are that while there were many cooking accoutrements, we couldn’t find any aluminum foil/plastic wrap/ziploc, which would have been useful. We also couldn’t find the propane tank or the pizza peel which rendered the grill and pizza oven unusable to us, even though we planned several meals around them. We also would have loved to have use of kid life vests for the pond, or a note that we should bring our own.
Otherwise, we'll definitely stay again! Thanks so much for having us.

The grill has a permanent gas line behind the grill itself, so it doesn’t need a propane tank.
Just turn the nozzle open (parallel) and then operate from grill controls. The gas has to be shut off when not is use.
There is a house notebook with grill instructions and other useful house, property and local information on the kitchen island.
There are plenty of zip lock bags and foil, wrap, etc in the kitchen. Drawer above the trash can has them all plus a variety of pyrex containers with lids are in the cabinets.
Life jackets are available in the fishing room for use in the pond now, as well as more noodles-thank you for that suggestion.
Please don’t hesitate to call us with questions. We want you to have the best time possible and are always happy to help make that happen.
My husband and I chose to stay at this property with our dog over a long weekend, and we were absolutely thrilled. The home itself is stunning, with so many fine details and accents- real wood fireplace (with a massive pile of stocked wood right outside the door), multiple jacuzzi tubs, a fully stocked pantry, firepit with pizza oven(??), hammocks, the list goes on and on. The place also comes ready with so many activities and entertainment- shuffleboard, board games, jigsaw puzzles, TV games, (even a bop it!). It was the perfect home away from home, a place to fully disconnect and just appreciate the moment and company. All of this- amongst 50 private acres in Illinois's most beautiful hillside. The grand windows throughout ensure you're always looking out at the gorgeous views. The walking trails that cut through the property are nice easy walks, and the way the stars light up the night sky is truly awe-inspiring.The property manager was also more than kind and accommodating of us when we had trouble with our car when leaving. They were extremely quick to respond and very thoughtful throughout. This is hands-down the best experience I've had with any rental property, I promise you can't go wrong choosing this place!!
This is a new property listing for us! We have had previous rental properties on VRBO and AirBNB for about 3 three years. Our previous listing was 5 stars and we are working to book rentals to get this one at that point as well. We know that reviews make possible renters feel more comfortable making a choice to book for their groups. We take great care in our properties as we visit them ourselves often. You will not feel that anything you would expect to have in a home is missing as we want this to feel like a home away from home as it is for us. Unlike many other rentals we keep our kitchen stocked with some of the essentials that you don't buy on every grocery run. (salt, pepper, baking spices, grilling spices, oils, etc) We also have a strong supply of soaps, laundry detergents, dishwasher detergents etc that most rentals only leave a days supply of. Theres too much to think about when packing for a vacation and we have done our best to leave you with some of these items you don't want to have to think about. If something is missing, let us know and we will make sure to take care of it.
We have a dog and children ranging from 9-14 year old. They enjoy this farm as much as we do. We grill, cook, fish, hike, swim, row. or kayak, lounge on the inside and outside porches, star gaze, check out town in Galena-Stockton-Elizabeth-Mount Carroll.
What makes this property unique
The views from the back of our house are amazing at every hour of the day and night. Every room and bedroom has sweeping views of the valley. Even the powder room!
