We loved our short stay at the cabin. It was the perfect size for our family, also clean and loved that we could bring our other family member, our dog. The mission was to star-gaze and with the clear skies and open view of mountains and flat land, mission complete. The owners were prompt and easy to communicate with.Bonus, foosball table!
Beautiful views from the living area with several areas close by to explore and soak in nature. Breckenridge and Denver are an easy drive away if you desire more amenities than FairPlay has to offer.
My stay was absolutely perfect! This cozy 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat was spotless, well-equipped, and nestled in a stunning location with vibrant fall foliage painting the landscape. The cabin’s modern amenities, comfortable beds, and serene atmosphere made it an ideal getaway. The hosts were responsive when I had questions. Highly recommend this gem for a peaceful mountain escape! Note for travelers to plan accordingly: Many shops in Breckenridge are closed on Tuesdays, and in Bailey on Wednesdays, as these are their slower days during this season.
Couldn’t say better things about this spot. If you’re looking for a complete escape from the loudness of the city or the suburbs, but still close enough to be near society, look no further. From crystal clear skies filled with the entire Milky Way, to beautiful Mountain views that stretch out for miles, This little gem is the perfect escape. Surrounded by hiking trails, and 40 minutes away from the world’s best ski resort (Breckenridge), you’ll fall in love and never want to leave. The house is completely spotless, and I felt so incredibly safe the entire time. I was very worried at first that I would be too cold at night, considering I’m from Florida. However, its easily the most warm and comfortable cabin I’ve ever slept in. The hot tub makes the stay so much more worth it, offering an incredible view at both night and day. Fairplay it’s about 15-20 down there the road and offers a convenience store with everything you will need for a prolonged stay. It’s a very cute small town, which is actually the real life town inspired by the show South Park. There’s so many amazing things I can say about this little spot, you’re looking for that ultimate getaway this is it!

It was super cute, lots of room, very clean, well stocked with items, and view was amazing. Property owners were great, fantastic with communication, and worked with us to let us in day earlier. That was greatly appreciated. Had great time sight seeing. Lots of beautiful things to see.
The town of Fairplay has some cute shops and good food. We really enjoyed our stay thanks so much
This place is beautiful! The views are so much better in person! Scott & Randy were very easy to communicate with and when we had an issue at the house they went out of their way to make it right. The location is great! Quiet, with plenty of trails close by, or drive up to Breckenridge (45 mins) for the day. We would love to stay here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful cabin. It was super clean, the view from the deck was amazing, even the bed was very comfortable. We loved watching elk, pronghorns, cattle and the horses on the property next to us. It was a perfect location for leaf peeping as it’s located close to Boreas Pass. We could see & hear traffic from hi-way 285 however compared to the fabulous view, that was a minor issue.

Not enough blankets. My parents were cold and there wasn’t an extra blanket and comforters we thin
The pictures do not do this cabin justice! The views from this cabin are AMAZING! The drive to Breckinridge was very easy and it is not as remote as you would think but the driveway does get covered in snow and ice so you do need all wheel or four wheel drive. The cabin has everything you need. The upstairs and downstairs both have couches so two different couples have privacy. I think more than four people could stay here.
Cabin was as advertised. Clean, up to date, adequately equipped. The location seems remote but once there you realize there are more residents than you thought. Managers are easily contacted and respond in a timely fashion. Road from highway to cabin driveway is rough. Antelope and elk visit daily but present no threat if you give them their space. Nice and enjoyable stay.
We had the most amazing vacation! There were so many details that were thought about with this house that at no point did my kiddos ever say they were bored. The property is close enough to all sorts of places we wanted to visit, or we could all just hang out and watch the storms form in the distance since we were basically almost in the clouds. The night sky was incredibly beautiful. We could sit out on the balcony almost all night and just watch the stars. We had an incredible 3 day game of Coloradopoly (monopoly but everything Colorado). Thank you for such an amazing place to stay! We will definitely be back 💜
Delightful log cabin in rural Colorado with reasonable drive to ski resorts
This was an excellent place for our Christmas ski vacation. The property is exactly as advertised. It is perfectly situated on a hill overlooking open plains with a picturesque backdrop of the Colorado mountain range. The big picture windows and wraparound porch made it easy to enjoy the sunrises with a cup of coffee each morning, warm inside on the couch or bundled up on the camp chairs and log seats. Stargazing was equally impressive. The property was great to explore with our teenagers and dogs. The split-level cabin was a great setup. My teenage daughters shared the downstairs bedroom and game area as their teen hideaway while my wife and I had the upstairs room. The fosse ball table was a neat find and a lot of fun. While there isn't a full dining table, we found the cafe table adequate for the four of us. The full kitchen contains all the essentials and made it easy to have meals at home every day. Wifi was reliable. Roku enable TVs in every room made it easy to stream a movie. We skied / boarded Breckenridge and Keystone which are about 50 minutes and 1hr 20 minutes away respectively. Vail, Monarch, and Arapaho basin are also within driving distance, but we didn't visit them this trip. We hiked a portion of the Colorado trail in Jefferson which was only 15 min or less away. A firepit would have been a nice addition but not essential. We would definitely like to come check this place out again.
This place is sooo much better than the pictures! Can’t wait to return!!! We absolutely enjoyed this cabin. You feel disconnected but have all modern conveniences.
Location: driving from the county highway in is all dirt road, the driveway is through beautiful aspens. You are half way in a valley so you can see the mountain range and there are elk & deer in the “front yard.”
Cabin: it’s easy to get in with a code, the place feels secure. The outside looks like a regular log cabin but the inside is just beautiful…great modern finishes, counters, tile, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked…great supply of everything. Also, a choice for coffee…drip pot, keurig, and French press. There isn’t an ice machine but there are ice trays. The cabin water is good to drink too!
The beds are good quality, and firm. All the towels & sheets are nice quality as well. I brought my own pillow so can’t comment on that.
Both of us work remotely and the WiFi handled our heavy traffic well. The TVs are big and have good streaming & cable.
Communication with the property manager was fantastic. He answered my questions fast, he was super helpful!
We booked this trip to get away from the stress of life, and this was the perfect place. The home is beautiful, but the patio and the amazing view was exactly what we were looking for. Even when it was raining, we were still able to enjoy the view from the large windows in the living room.
My Mother has trouble with stairs, so I appreciated that everything she needed was on the ground level. The basement living room / bedroom were great for my husband and I.
