About this property
Lookout Lodge - A Rocky Mountain Getaway with Views: only 1.5 hours from Denver
“Lookout Lodge” is a wonderful place to unwind, relax, and recharge. The floor to ceiling windows in the great room, paired with its open concept, creates a comfortable, connected, and luxurious feel. Outfitted with custom log furniture, beautiful hardwood floors and ceilings, and stunning views, you will quickly discover why we call this special cabin “Lookout Lodge”.
Built in 2020, the cabin is practically brand new and has modern amenities. With stainless steel kitchen appliances, a beautiful gas fireplace, wireless internet, a smart lock for contactless entry and exit, and installed Amazon Firestick 4K for streaming, you are sure to feel right at home.
The beds have new, fresh linens and the bathroom is stocked with new, fresh towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, a drip coffee maker, a mini Keurig coffee maker, an electric tea kettle, microwave, toaster, crockpot, handheld blender, and all your basic cooking needs. Our kitchen table comfortably seats 6 and we have an abundance of glassware, silverware, and stemware.
In the family room, you can kick up your feet in comfy chairs or the cozy loveseat. The family room has a flat screen TV and DVD player with movies supplied. Additionally, we provide cards, card games, coloring items and cribbage.
Our finished upper level, with 2 bedrooms and the bathroom, is just over 1000 sq. ft. and the unfinished entry level is just under 1000 sq. ft. There is a king size bed and queen size bed on the main living level and the ground floor has an additional king size bed. The entry level offers space for relaxation and play with air hockey, an activity table and 4 chairs, games, and a handcrafted practice putting green with golf balls and putters.
While you can savor gorgeous views from almost all windows, getting outside to soak in the scenery is easy with access to the spacious deck from the ground or main living area. The deck is equipped with a picnic table, benches, 6 Adirondack chairs and 2 kid size Adirondacks. The deck is also accessible from the primary bedroom. This cabin perches on just over an acre of land so you have space to throw frisbees, run, play, and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Whether you are working remotely, vacationing for an extended time, or searching for a beautiful change of scenery, Lookout Lodge is ideal for that needed "recharge" the mountain lifestyle has to offer. So, get off the beaten path and let the solitude and grandeur of the surroundings inspire you!
When staying at our cabin, you are close to many fun activities and opportunities for adventures including: hiking, fishing (3 Gold Medal rivers), skiing, horseback riding, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hunting (national forest), and excellent photo opps!
Nearby places and activities include, but are not limited to the following:
The Indian Mountain recreation area: nearby (5 miles) with frisbee golf (discs in metal box on site and we offer some at our cabin, too), kid's playground, and sledding hill (we have 2 sleds at the cabin).
Fishing: The Tarryall Reservoir, Jefferson Lake, Arkansas River, Spinney Reservoir, DREAM STREAM, 11 mile reservoir, and Antero reservoir are a short drive away.
The Colorado Trail is on top of Kenosha pass with great hiking and is known for it's beautiful fall colors (25 minutes away).
Breckenridge resort and town: Just over 1 hour away where you will completely avoid I-70 traffic.
Fairplay is 20 miles away and provides a quaint mountain town atmosphere with restaurants, shopping, breweries, distilleries, and live music.
Buena Vista: The Cottonwood and Mt Princeton hot springs are 65 miles away.
Historic Cripple Creek is 1.5 hours southeast.
Horseback riding: Safari Ranch provides open range and forest riding: 14 miles away.
Mountain biking: Among others, you could try the Gold Dust Trail (Intermediate) in Como.
Pasture Golf: 6 miles away. 9 hole rugged golf course with no reservations needed. Clubs are provided on site. Bring your drinks. Archery is also available.
Shooting range: 9 miles away at the Park County Shooting range.
River rafting: Royal Gorge and the Arkansas Rivers provide some of the best rafting in Colorado.
Denver International Airport: Just under 2 hours away.
We aim to make your visit an enjoyable one. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have special requests so that we can try to accommodate you. We want you to have a wonderful time at Lookout Lodge!
Sincerely, Bob and Laura
