About this property

Secluded Waterfront Hideaway- Pet Friendly-Close to OBX and Duck Hunting

Come "Turn Back Time" with a relaxing vacation at our secluded family home. If a peaceful, serene, waterfront oasis without the hustle and bustle of the busy beach area sounds like the break you need, we might just have your ideal getaway spot! (plenty of room for your pup, too!)

VIEWS, VIEWS & more VIEWS! Come relax at our soundside retreat on the historic Church's Island in Coinjock NC! We are only 30 minutes away from the beaches of the Outer Banks, 20 minutes to the Elizabeth City Waterfront and 25 minutes to Virginia.

Our home offers 4 full bedrooms, lots of bonus spaces, 3 spacious porches with water views, a private dock in the backyard PLUS a community dock on the sound (just 1 block away), and so much more.

The space
Welcome to Emperors Isle. We hope our guests can enjoy our home while getting used to being on island time here on the banks!

Home Features:
Waterfront Dock & Sound Access
Backyard Fire Pit
Hammock
Screened Porches
Game Room
Gas Grill
Pet Friendly
Gorgeous Water Views
High-Speed Internet (perfect to telework!)

We love our sweet slice of paradise and can’t wait to share it with you. Step into the house through our open living, dining and kitchen area with gorgeous water views. Enjoy the spacious decks (3!) facing the sound for the perfect morning coffee or sunset cocktail spot! Our top level suite offers a private king bedroom with full private bathroom, private deck with water views and optional bonus space with futon and designated work space. Choose your favorite bedroom on the main level, offering a triple bunk bedroom and a queen bedroom with its own private screened-in porch and a shared hall bath. Our main floor also features a laundry area with washer and dryer for our guests convenience. Head downstairs to the game room with a ping pong table, foosball table, dart board, additional bunk bedroom, Kitchenette, full bath and access to outdoor amenities.

Access the Currituck sound for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing at our soundfront access 1 block across from the house on Waterlily Road. The water stays warm longer than the ocean and is usually shallow for the kids to have a fun filled day on the water. Use our Kayaks and life jackets, or bring your own water toys! (we have 1 adult and 1 child kayak for your use) The house is within a few miles of 2 boat launches, including the public Coinjock Boating Access Area on Waterlilly Rd. There are great fishing and crabbing spots all over the island and duck hunting is the main attraction during hunting season. The marsh makes for beautiful views from the back of the house (but is not swimmable water.)

Cleaning & linen
Cleaning is very important to us and we strive to make sure our home is cleaned to all our guests standards. We have enhanced our cleaning to include sanitizing high touch points regularly and providing our guests with cleaning products to wipe down surfaces during their stay.

We also give our guests the option of bringing their own linens or using our linen (for an additional fee). Our rates are set up to include the linens and towels being provided. If you would like to OPT OUT, please shoot us a message and we will return that fee to you.

All most Heaven
The location, peacefulness of the marsh was fantastic, away from the hustle of commercialism. The interior of the home was adequate. A few frustrations of missing supplies, but we compromised due to the location. The ability to bring our pets was huge, the neighbors were very nice and inviting. My biggest concern was the condition of the exterior of the home. The listing would have been accurate if you were able to use the listed amenities. The environment of the marsh is not always friendly but the house, decking, and furniture were dirty with assuming some sort of animal (frog) feces, thus pretty much unusable. A shame since the sunsets are amazing! You would think knowing guests were arriving it would have been cleaned. The outdoor grill was very well “seasoned”. Could not use as it had food, grime build up. We spent 10 days there and made the best of what was there but there definitely needs to be some up dates to the home.

Great place
Listing and pictures were accurate. While it was a drive to the beaches, the quiet of the area was appreciated at the end of every day. The sunrises along the Sound and sunsets from the backyard were prefect. Would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect
We were looking for a place for my extended family to gather near the Outer Banks. This place was perfect. Enough room for all of us. The location is perfect - nice secluded neighborhood surrounded by wildlife and nature. But also close enough to get to the beaches. Lovely place that had us contemplating moving there.

We are a large military family (Dad + Mom + 6 kids + Neapolitan Mastiff)
We love spending time together at the beach and being on the water. We stay busy with all of our kid's sports and any free moment we get, we run to the beach house!

Why they chose this property

We chose this home because of the space and tranquility. It is a beautiful place to relax and recharge away from any hustle or traffic. The views are absolutely breathtaking and when we stepped out on the 3rd floor porch the first time we visited we both said "we have to buy this house!" Every time you look out the back you see bunnies, ducks, turtles, or some other wildlife going about their day. Drinking coffee on the porch in the morning is one of my favorite parts of the day and the evening sunsets will literally take your breath away.

What makes this property unique

As a family with lots of kids, we love that it is on a quiet dead end away from the main road, but still a short walk from the water access. We absolutely love the dock and our kids spend hours swimming, kayaking, and hanging out in floating tubes. It is not in a touristy area and most of the neighbors are year-round residents. This adds to the charm and peacefulness of the area. This is our home away from home and we are excited for you to enjoy it!
