Peace on the pond

Beautiful, tranquil place. Saw moose a couple of times during our 10 day stay. Close to town, Columbine Lake and literally feet away from RMNP. We enjoyed hiking, boating, fishing and visiting w/friends and family in this peaceful setting.

Best stay ever

We have been renting cabins in the Grand Lake area since 1979 and Renee’s place is the best ever!!! The view overlooking a small pond was super fun with ducks and muskrats and on one day, a bear taking a bath on the other side. Location is super easy access to RMNP, Grand Lake and beyond. Ranch-style home is super nice, it had all the amenities we needed, and the fun part, everything was nice and everything worked.

Holiday Getaway

Our family of six had a wonderful holiday stay. We couldn't have asked for a better location: next to a snow-covered pond outside Rocky Mountain National Park. The home was spacious, and the kitchen was well-appointed. Communication with Renee was a breeze, and she gave us a quick tour when we arrived.

Perfect location for snowmobiling

Everything was great… private location on the edge of town and only a block or so down the road from the snowmobile trail… easy access to town and the main corridor to the trail system. Enjoyed the time and will hopefully be back.

Beautiful scenic location

We had an amazing time. The cabin was exactly as described. It was clean and neat. The owner met us at the door to give us the key and give us the tour of the house. The view from the porch was absolutely beautiful. The location couldn’t have been any better. Right in of everything you would want to do. I would stay there again for sure.

Perfect location, beautiful cabin

A 3-minute drive to RMNP entrance, this place was a gem. Lovely, secluded, everything you could need and want. Lovely patio for morning coffee watching the pond. Comfortable beds and two bathrooms, everybody had a lovely space. The park boundary is right next to the cabin, making it even more amazing. The hosts were gracious and welcoming and truly thought of everything. It’s rustic and modern all at once—perfect. If you are planning a trip to the Grand Lake side of the park look no further!

Amazing!

The property and house were perfect for a relaxing family vacation!! The location was great!! Close enough to town and RMNP but quiet and beautiful on the lily pond. We saw moose and mule deer almost every morning or afternoon. We saw a momma and baby moose most days and on our last morning a bull moose came through the yard. Renee was a wonderful host and so easy to work with! Our family had the best time and hope to return in the future!

Delightful Retreat

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at this mountain home which sits on the border of the Rocky Mountain National Park and minutes away from the main street in Grand Lake. The kitchen was well stocked for making meals. Added touches of fresh flowers, chocolates, and soaps and lotions made us feel welcomed and well cared for during our stay. The moose and her baby were a delight to watch, from inside the house, as they bedded down off the back porch at night, and were there in the mornings, grazing and playing. Thank you! We'll be back!

Great relaxing vacation

We had a great stay at the lily pond house in Grand Lake. The house borders Rocky Mountain National Park so it is really quiet and peaceful. We were treated to moose sightings daily. We also had plenty of deer and elk visits. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck bird watching on the lake. And we enjoyed staying at the house to cook and visit with family. The house is rustic enough to get the sense that you are in the mountains and has everything you need. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need to make meals, grill, sit by the fire table. The beds were comfortable and there is plenty of all the bedding, towels etc for the whole family. Renee is super attentive and communicative. We would go back for sure! The whole family loved it.

Rights of Passage

The home entry invites you to unload your worries and cares right-away, leaving them on coat hooks and boot benches. The foyer full paned glass door leads to the heart of the home. A wall of windows introduce you to the wilds of the outdoors from the ease of cushy arm rests indoors. From the stone hearth windows into the kitchen, two full walls of granite counter space and appointed appliances, everyone cooked their specialty in this kitchen. If it wasn’t the smoky bbq ribs from the deck and stone yard bbq it was a breakfast quiche chased by many cups of coffee alto late evening scoops of ice cream over warm pie for dessert. Our family culinary inner-chef was set free at every meal. The temps were 45-78 degrees, this made the outdoor yard spaces our in-and-out leisure time. The back of the home is waterfront, full of chatter from laughing squirrels, clacking ducks and fly-by trills of Osprey. Which was the best view of the water, from indoors or out, was the days voting challenge. The home offered tv related options and the internet was better than our home. The split bedroom floor plan made it convenient to serve the night owls and the early risers of our family. The outdoor setting of the home calms the senses and the indoors hosted our style of family experiences. What we appreciated was just “a-phone-call-away”, we had access to the host. This is not often experienced after your reservation has been paid. A great asset. Thank you for opening your home.

This cabin is absolutely beautiful and the location is equally beautiful! Cabin was extremely well-kept and clean. Very spacious and had more than enough space for our family of 4. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was modern with everything we needed. Outside space and view from the cabin is amazing! We enjoyed grilling out, making s’mores on the fire table and just relaxing by the pond. Our host Renee was great and very responsive to any questions that we had. She even brought us sticks for making s’mores!! We had an awesome time and would definitely stay again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This property is amazing! The view is breathtaking, and even when we weren't out and about on an adventure in the area, we came back to the rental and still felt like we were out on a wilderness adventure from the comfort of home base. Watching wildlife, eating meals out on the patio, the close proximity to town, and relaxing in the general atmosphere were our favorite parts about our stay. It was great for our pup, although he was worried about the bear that showed up every night. It was certainly a wild time! From moose, to deer, to ducks, chipmunks, squirrels, bugling elk, and roaming bears we definitely knew that we were right in the middle of nature! Almost like camping out in the park. Renee was warm, friendly, welcoming, accommodating, and great about communicating. She and her husband, Mike, live right up the driveway with their adorable pup if you are in need of any assistance. The cabin is the best mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. My only trouble was that the wood burning fireplace had been used by the previous occupants and kicked up my asthma immediately. I aired out the cabin when we got there though, and it did help for the remainder of our time to open windows in the daytime whenever we were at the cabin. Ultimately, we truly enjoyed our stay. So much so, that we didn't feel the need to be out and about as much because the beauty of RMNP was at our back door! Thank you, Mike and Renee, for this amazing opportunity!

Owners were very responsive. Property provided everything we needed to grill and cook every meal in our 7 night stay. We enjoyed watching a moose cross the back side of the pond, ducks swimming, and deer munching on flowers. We heard elk bugeling at night. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and also relaxing by the fireplce after long hikes in the park. The proximity to the park made it easy to enter and had to worry about timed entry only twice. Grand Lake is a cute town and very close, but we hiked 6 days in a row instead. Would stay again next time we visit RMNP!

Great Location, Great Amenities

The house is gorgeous! The kitchen is up to date and well stocked with everything we needed to cook. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The house is very dog friendly. The owner is gracious, and the whole process was easy. Lily Pond is tranquil and serene. We were visited by moose and deer several mornings, and we could spot elk, eagles, owls, ducks, and a Kingfisher. We will come back!
