I absolutely loved every minute of staying in this cozy cabin and am tempted to make it back to this area just so I can stay here again! The host is very communicative via text and made sure that things were going okay during our stay. I love that they have a guidebook of the area for guests to help plan their trip and the little add-ons (cookies, bread, etc.), though I did not get them, are a very nice touch as well. I would happily recommend this place to anyone wanting a peaceful, cozy cabin experience!!

Thanks for the five-star rating! Glad you loved the cozy cabin and found our communication and local guidebook helpful. We appreciate the recommendation and would be happy to host you again at Woodland Escape!
We came here to do some winter hiking, and the cabin was perfect for our needs. It was clean, well-stocked, and there was a lot of attention to detail. The host was super helpful and responsive.
This is not a house for anyone with bad knees. The kitchen and living space is up 16 steps. All your groceries etc must be taken up the steps and back down again. There are no stairs outside off the upper deck. The view is fantastic and the space is comfortable. Also, the steps down to the beach are use at your own risk. They are a bit treacherous. There is no television, but maybe that’s a good thing.
It’s was exactly what we where looking for! Peaceful cabin in the woods. Close drive to several adventures sites. Kid and dog friendly. We had a great time!

Everything you need for a good night stay. Private getaway all of the Area highlights were listed for us in a great book. Cute small friendly towns. I’d definitely stay again.
Beautiful property surrounded by woods. Conveniently located near lots of hiking trails and water sports. Lovely cabin and the host was very helpful and informative. Would definitely stay again.
Great little cabin in the woods near Lake Superior! The cabin had a very strong musty odor upon arrival but it got better once the windows were opened, however, it was off-putting at first impression. Nice vintage decor, cozy and comfortable for two nights.

hmm, we aren't sure what may be causing that musty smell, but with the heavy humidity we have had all summer, these rustic cabins will show their age at times. we had only had one other person mention it this year, but we will be doing our best to see if we can figure out where it is coming from so we can try to nip it in the bud. sorry to see it had such an impact on your time in our beautiful neck of the woods.
Fun place to stay! Quiet and peaceful. The main room was a great place to gather and make meals or play games. We enjoyed walking down to the beach and seeing the changing mood of the lake. Erin was very helpful and responsive. Would stay again for sure!
The cabin was perfect and met all of our needs! We were just minutes away from Lake Superior, and hiking trails and waterfalls were just a short drive away. The surrounding towns of Port Wing, Herbster and Cornucopia offered great places to shop and eat. We will definitely be back!
