Guest access
Situated on nearly 1/2 acre, with beautiful plantings, perfect for playing or enjoying lake views. Large wood deck with both a conversation area and a dining set. The 60" glass table sits 8 people, but there are 10 chairs available. The property is on a cove shared by one other house, and we freely share our dock, lake equipment and access to the lake with our neighbors. The cove has a shallow sand-bottom entrance to the lake, and on our side a large dock with sitting area, deep enough for a shallow dive off the end. The house faces west and gets great sunset views. The property has lots of trees in front and back and remains cool even in hot weather; although all bedrooms and main floor have air conditioners. The rear of the house faces the street with an uphill driveway with a garden on one side and open lawn on the other. WATER CRAFT, all shared with our neighbors: 1 sunfish sailboat, 1 double kayak, and 2 single kayaks. Lots of life jackets of varying sizes for adults and children. We also have a 12-ft. trampoline and a tree house.
Other things to note
Located minutes off the Taconic Parkway, Roaring Brook Lake is nearly 4 miles in circumference, with houses along its shores which belong to a private lake association. The lake has a few shared sand beaches for the residents of the surrounding streets; one very nearby is for children and provides a lifeguard. The lake is very clean and no motor boats are allowed on it, with the exception of electric 'egg beaters' for those fishing. Residents can use canoes, small sailboats and windsurfers, kayaks and paddleboats. The fishing is supposed to be excellent. Please note $150 cleaning fee, plus $30 for grill use.
