The Cottage at Skycroft Farm is a recently thoroughly renovated guest house of a 13 acre historic estate, and the cottage itself sits on 3private acres, situated high on a bluff overlooking the mountains of NH & VT in the southeast corner of NH on a quiet country road with access to trails, biking, the Connecticut and Asheolot Rivers for boating, swimming, kayaking, local and regional State Parks and within driving distance to Brattleboro Vt, Greenfield, MA, Keene NH and all the amenities they provide.
The historic cottage is charming and distinctively architecturally detailed, inside and out. It has a large living room salon with seating for six, including a sleeper sofa, a gas fireplace, dry bar, a dining/game table that sits 4, a stereo with blue tooth, wifi and a TV. Adjoining is a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a gas stove. microwave oven, dish washer and exterior door to a outside sitting area.
A few steps further is the bedroom entered through double french doors with a queen bed and wall mounted TV. Above the bedroom is a loft area, accessed by a petite set of stairs and has an inflatable mattress for the use by supervised minors.
Adjoining the bedroom is a nicely appointed bath with shower and a utility room, which includes a washer and dryer.
Conditioning of the air is by a min-split heat pump, and in deep winter months, the fireplace and hall gas heaters.
The grounds are landscaped with sitting areas, a gas grill, and a few stone steps will take you to an upper hill crest sitting area that has a magnificent view of Vermont mountains and the setting sun!
The living room 'library' area is full of best seller books to take your further away from the life you have set aside for the opportunity to relax, reflect, renew and rejoice.
Adorning the walls of the cottage are regional landscape paintings and others from Karen Schmitz's travels. Individual painting classes are offered on a case by case basis at the Skycroft Art Studio.
We look forward to your stay and your enjoyment of this special place that we love so much.
