*Private hot tub for 6 *Dog friendly, extra fee *Family friendly *Outdoor fire pit *Horses, donkeys, cows, sheep, pigs and chickens *Explore 56 acres of farm and woodland *Lake access for fishing and kayaking *Security Cameras
This is one of 4 homes at Narrin Farms and the largest, making it the perfect choice if you need more space.
Enjoy the `Up North` feel while being only an hour north of Detroit, an hour south of Frankenmuth, 20-30 minutes from hot spots in Clarkston, Holly, Lake Orion, Metamora, etc.
The Lodge was custom built for the farm`s original owners over half a century ago and beautifully updated in 2020. This house sits on a bluff overlooking Narrin Lake and offers the best views of the lake.
There are three other houses nearby on the property, so you will see more of our wonderful guests. The houses are far enough apart where you will not be disturbed by the other guests and will still feel secluded while getting to enjoy this peaceful property.
Upon entering you will find a spacious, open main floor consisting of the well stocked kitchen, dinning room, living room, den (with sofa bed), wet bar, wood burning stove, bathroom, and main floor bedroom (queen bed). From the living room you will find the access to the loft space (twin bed) which is only accessible by ladder. Open the sliding doors off the living room space to find a serene view of Narrin Lake from the main floor back deck.
Up a small flight of stairs you will find the master bedroom (king bed), private bathroom and three small porches offering views from every angle of the space.
Down the stairs from the main level is where you will find a kitchenette, pool table, family friendly games and an additional living room space with a sofa bed. Access to the lower level porch area and stairs to the rustic lake shore is also located on this level.
The private six person hot tub is located at the front of the house off of the main front deck. Your bonfire pit is at the back of the house.
*Please note: there are many stairs/steps to access this house as well as stairs inside the house to access the different levels.
There are miles of forested hiking paths throughout the farm and access to Narrin Lake from these paths as well. Narrin lake is a private-access, spring-fed lake with no motorsports. There are parts that can be quite clear and deep (85’) and other sections are marshland. All of the shoreline is natural. If you plan to play in or near the water, we recommend water shoes or other foot protection. We have two different dock areas to access the lake.
With a license you are welcome to fish the lake. If kayaking is more your speed, enjoy using one of our eight provided for your use (kayaks are available in the spring, summer and early fall). Our guests enjoy wadding out into the deeper, clear water to swim as well. (there is not a sandy beach, only shoreline)
You’re welcome to visit with the barnyard crew (mini donkeys, sheep, cows, pigs and chickens) at anytime during your stay from behind the fences.
We also invite you to schedule a meet and greet session so you can join them inside their pasture to pet, brush and learn more about the animals from one of our barn team members. They will also introduce you to one of our resident horses at this time and give you a tour of the barn.
We are not offering riding lessons or trail rides at this time.
The farm is located in a rural area. Expect a country atmosphere and small-town presence. You’ll need to drive on a dirt road for about a mile to access the property.
Our little town offers a 24-hour grocery store, bars, restaurants, and drug stores within just a few miles. Nine miles further down the road is the Village of Clarkston, where you’ll find unique and upscale shopping and dining. Major shopping malls, movie theaters, and big-box retailers are 25 minutes away. Please see our House Manual and Guidebook for details.
Your Dog(s) We do allow up to three well behaved dogs with your booking (no un-potty trained puppies or aggressive breeds allowed) There is an additional fee of $30/night for each dog. Please let us know when booking if you are bringing any dogs and if so what breed they are. When you`re exploring the property with pups, please keep them leashed or at your side until you hit the trails. If you plan to leave them alone in the house, they must be in a crate/kennel as we know even the best behaved dogs act differently in new environments. Sorry, no cats.
For an accurate rate, make sure you enter the correct number of people in your party. The rate that defaults in the system is based on a 4-person occupancy. Each additional guest over the age of two is $50/night. There is a 9 guest maximum.
Special Events and Commercial Use: If you are planning a stay for special events, extra guests, parties or commercial use including photography, please reach out to us before booking to discuss your plans. We aim to provide a peaceful and scent-neutral environment to ensure that each guest experiences a healthy, comfortable, and enjoyable stay with us. Burning, vaporizing, smoking, diffusing, or cooking anything that leaves a distinct odor after your departure or finding any drugs or evidence of partying violates this policy and will result in a $250 restoration fee. Smoking is STRICTLY prohibited anywhere on the property or inside the house. No Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the ENTIRE property, or inside the house. You will be charged a $250 restoration fee if the house smells like smoke, or if smoking-related paraphernalia is found, or detected after your stay.
Neutral Scent Policy: We aim to provide a scent-neutral environment to ensure that each guest experiences a healthy, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. Please respect the next visitor by not using heavy perfumes, medicinal oils, cannabis, or air fresheners. Burning, vaporizing, smoking, diffusing, or cooking anything that can be detected in the air, or on the fabrics after your departure could violate this policy and you may be charged up to a $250 restoration fee.
Special Events and Commercial Use: If you are planning a stay for special events, extra guests, parties or commercial use including photography, please reach out to us before booking to discuss your plans. These events may include additional fees and/or permits. Not receiving prior permission can result in removal from property by AirBnB.
Barnyard: Please do not feed the horses or barnyard animals without permission from the barn crew. The fences around the pastures are electrified and are on at all times for the safety of the animals, please do not touch the fence.
For your safety, do not enter the barns or pastures without prior approval.
Dogs: If you’re one of our visitors with a dog, please keep your dog by your side, on a leash, until you hit the hiking trails (away from the residences and barnyard).
If you plan to leave them alone in the house, they must be in a crate/kennel as we know even the best behaved dogs act differently in new environments.
Sorry, no cats.
Quiet Hours: There are other guests at the farm so we ask that you respect a 10 p.m. - 8 a.m. quiet hour. No music, loud noises etc. after that time. If you will be using the hot tub or bonfire pits after 10 p.m. , we ask that you keep the noise level at a minimum so our neighbors and guests are not disturbed during the night.
Hot Tub: You must shower before entering the hot tub to remove oils, detergents and chemicals in body lotions, makeup and deodorants. They can enter the spa filters, causing them to clog and foul the spa water.
NO food, or drinks are allowed in the hot tub. Please cover the hot tub when not in use. Again, these things may foul the water.
If our professional spa company must come out for a special cleaning of the spa water after your stay, then a restoration fee of $100 will be assessed along with any additional costs resulting from issuing refunds, or cancellations to the guests who are scheduled to arrive after you and won`t be able to use the hot tub as expected.

The Lodge was an amazing property! It was exactly as pictured. The home was clean and very welcoming. Check in was very easy and Carl was very responsive. We would absolutely stay here again! Next time we would love to explore more of the property and meet the animals!Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
The home was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We were traveling with a two year old and the home had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!!!!

It was our pleasure to have you and your family, Kristin! Thank you for coming!
Dreamy and relaxing stay at Narrin Farms. Lots of animals to look at and a kayak paddle on the lake is a must! A better bed configuration in the house and basement would’ve worked better for our group of friends but we made it work. We had 5 adults and 2 ended up sleeping on the couches because the fold out couches just weren’t cutting it.

There were loads of big black flies in all the doorwalls, and stink bugs crawling in every room. We shook out our luggage when we got home. Front porch and hot tub are under undisclosed surveillance. We don't know who was watching us or where the video files went. Very, very unsettling.

We’re sorry to hear this guest felt unsettled during their stay.
Our property is located in a natural lakefront and farm setting in Michigan, and while we maintain regular pest control service, occasional seasonal insects such as flies or stink bugs can appear at certain times of year. We encourage guests to reach out during their stay so we can promptly address any concerns.
We take privacy seriously. Exterior security devices are used solely for property protection and safety monitoring, are in plain sight, and do not monitor the hot tub. There are no interior cameras. We are reviewing our listing details to ensure all security device information is clearly presented to future guests.
We remain committed to transparency and providing a comfortable experience for our guests

The bed sheets were dirty, and there were numerous large flies in the master bedroom which was nasty and made it feel unclean.

Response from VrboOwner on 3 November 2024
Upon Ed's arrival he immediately made us aware of flies in the bedroom to which we immediately responded by sending both our cleaning team and the main host. They arrived at the house within an hour of the call. They vacuumed the flies up with the help of a ladder to reach the very high, vaulted bedroom ceiling where the flies were mainly at. They also inspected the entire house for any other flies. The host explained that Michigan fall does see a larger amount of flies and other insects trying to find warmth indoors and also, the previous guest may have had windows or doors open which we can not control. We use a pest control company to treat the home monthly for preventative care. The host also offered to move Ed to one of the other homes at the farm if he'd like. Ed communicated multiple times with the host about other questions he had and never once mentioned dirty sheets. We replace bedding after each guest and also use a lint roller when applying new linens to ensure they are perfect.
