About this property

Tipi Tranquility-Glamping at it's best

Tipi is located at 302 Peachtree Rd Cullowhee, NC 28723. It is 5 miles from WCU. This Tipi has all the amenities with a great mountain view. Interior includes a handmade King bed with a 12" mattress , Dining table & benches, double futon with 8" mattress, whiskey barrel sink, 3.4 cu ft refrigerator, floor A/C unit and 2 space heaters, 3 nightstands, hanging antler chandelier with dimmer switch, compost toilet outhouse, 2 person hammock, fire pit, gas grill and outdoor shower w/ water temp settings. IMPORTANT: During the months of November thru March there will be NO running water in the outdoor shower or indoor sink due to freezing temps. However, there will be a five gallon Igloo container of fresh water to drink and clean with. The outdoor shower will not be in use.
Tipi is located on a grassy 4 acre hillside which accompanies my other listing which is a cabin that sleeps 12 approximately 200 yds from the Tipi.
This is a Nomadic (company that furnished tipis for movie “Dances with Wolves) 24’ diameter Campground tipi model. It has an inner 9’ liner with a rain catcher above and a rain cap on the outside poles. It has a 5mil floor covering and carpet/rugs and a mosquito netting and critter guard and sand tubes along the flooring.
Guest access
Guests will be able to access the entire tipi and outer area to include fir pit (wood bundles can be purchased at either the Ingles grocery store or the Caney Fork general store for approx. $5.99 per bundle) and outdoor shower and outhouse.
Other things to note
Very few are familiar with using a compost toilet. There are simple instructions on how to use this toilet attached to the outhouse wall. Please read these instructions carefully prior to using the compost toilet.
The tipi is only one mile from Judaculla Rock which is a curvilinear-shaped outcrop of soapstone with quarry scars and contains more petroglyphs than any other known boulder east of the Mississippi River. It holds a sacred place in the hearts of the Native American Cherokee. It’s worth visiting since it’s so close.

Native explorers
Great glamping experience! A nice location for exploring the surrounding forests, waterfalls and small towns. Much more private than tent camping in a campground. The Tipi is in a class all by itself.

Wow!
My husband and I brought our 2 young boys to stay the weekend here. Mark was so hospitable and informative. He showed us around the tipi and gave us tips for during our stay. We made a fire and watched the stars. Seen a few deer and visited Judaculla Rock. The bed was very soft and large. I would recommend this for a unique experience. The tipi was decorated perfectly and the tipi it’s self was clean and orderly. Book your trip and have an adventure!

I've always enjoyed travelling to and spending time in the mountains, now I actually live here. A transplant from Jax, Fla about 6 years ago. I enjoy offering guests the peacefulness and activities that surround this area. I've been a host to the mountain cabin also located on the property for 3 years and am proud to be identified as a super host. Whatever I can do to make the guests feel welcome and experience a wonderful time during their stay, that's my goal. I've been blessed and grateful to have friendly and respectable guests that treat my property perhaps better than their own.

Why they chose this property

The close proximity to the many hiking trails, waterfalls, rivers and lakes not to mention the abundant wildlife that occasionally visit. I love to see the deer eating fallen apples from the trees on the property.
