We loved how centrally located the house was — really close to Lake Queechy and several adorable towns. Beds were comfortable. House was clean. We used the fire pit every night and it was really fun having dinner by the waterfall. Will stay again.
Beautiful house with old school charm updated with all modern conveniences. Everything you need to have an effortless getaway with the family! Nice and clean home!

No access
I loved the location but we didn’t have access to the fire pit or grill which is the reason we chose this place. Owner didn’t respond until day before our stay that we would not be able to use these amenities.
The property didn't have many things mentioned in the listing. The outdoor was not at all setup the way it showed in the listing.Every step on the second floor made a noise because of loose flooring.
Simply loved the property! Enjoyed relaxing on the porch and sitting by the waterfall. Location was central to other sites we wanted to visit, too! We lost power overnight in the storm but made it work. Owner kept in contact with us and even started working on alternatives for us! Ran to get batteries for the lantern the house had and ice for the cooler to save our food! A few more candles and flashlights would have been great, but otherwise, a gem! Thku for your hospitality!
Our family enjoyed staying in this lovely old home with fabulous access to all that the Berkshires area has to offer. We appreciated the host’s extensive lists of things we were interested in (restaurants, local foods, kayaking, details re: Tanglewood traffic) as well as their willingness to attend quickly to small issues that arose. We even enjoyed a ‘free’ Saturday evening concert when a neighbor had a live band for a birthday celebration!
This was a freshly renovated historic home - very spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfy living room & beds and a beautiful deck (wish the weather cooperated...). The large grounds provided lots of privacy. Easy to get to from NY, CT and VT. Limited cell service in the area - which was a plus for escaping, yet easy access to the property's wifi. Short drives to Lenox were very scenic.
Of all the properties I have stayed at, this home is my favorite! Excited to be able to stay in a such a historical home in a rich historical area! Amanda was a wonderful host! Provided a comfortable stay. The home had all the necessities! The town has delicious places to eat. Grocery store is great! My hope is to return and spend more time here.

Great Outside Space Not Great Inside
I booked this home because I thought the outdoor space looked great. And it was, with a really nice deck and yard in a private location. Unfortunately, the inside of the house has few problems, some that are easy to fix like putting up a towel ring in the half bath, fixing the sliding door and screens so they close properly, and adding a few chests of drawers in the bedrooms so renters have a place to put clothes.
I also didn't realize the home did not have a dishwasher and I booked a one month stay. For a weekend this may not have been a big deal. The house also had 2 dish towels; you really need a bunch of dish towels if you don't have a dishwasher. Amanda sent two more over when I asked but there was still not enough. I was washing dish towels several times a week.
Two big problems, the bathroom ceiling is stained and has mold growing. If you open the window in the bathroom, bugs come in because the screen does not fit well. We killed a dozen moths in the first few days and then had to close the window.
The electricity in the home is not sufficient. You can't put on the coffee pot and the toaster at the same time. If you do, you blow a fuse and have to wait a few hours for someone to come and replace the fuse in the locked basement. If you plan to eat out this may not be a big problem for you.
The floors are very creaky, but this could be a problem with many older homes. This is the first tough review I have given to a VRBO but I think you should be aware.
The Warm Spring running under the driveway was the coolest
This is a solid choice for lodging, although if you are skiing be aware there is no washer/dryer that we saw - damp clothes were hung above the very strong forced hot air heating vents on the first floor but on a really wet day they might not be dry by morning. Each bedroom upstairs had wall electric heat units which we unplugged because we didn’t find them needed and we didn’t want to sleep with them plugged in or on. Since it’s a charming older home, there are a lot of elevation changes and small steps in the floor, also with no handrail into the shower tub combo, I would not recommend for the elderly. Motion lights would be awesome outside so that upon entry to the driveway you could see the house straight away - we arrived at night and managed fine with a flashlight. The hostess Amanda was awesome and very attentive, wish all hosts were as good as she is with customer service! And finally the location is in a residential area and safe to walk on the dirt road with our doggo - we really enjoyed that. Thanks for a good one day ski trip and wish it had been summer so we could have used the beautiful outdoor space (huge deck, fire pit, porch swing, picnic table by waterfall).
My wife and I loved the fact it’s a 200 year old house that is updated to today’s standards with old world feel. Beautiful finished floor on top, and when you look up you see the old wood support beams and orinigal style wood flooring from the settlers days. You have neighbors but they are far enough for privacy. The house and property is beautiful and Amanda went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home. It was in a great location for our visit with family and the host was quick to respond to anything we needed.
My family and I had a great ski weekend. 10 minutes from Jiminy Peak. The house had a unique vintage vibe with a great layout. Outside deck was awesome and fireplace was great to warm up from skiing all day. Amanda was a wonderful attentive host.
Looking forward to staying again.
