Nice view of the lake. Great acess to head out on our paddle boats and Michael's rowboat. We had detailed info about the propery. Beautiful, well equipped kitchen. We enjoyd our stay!
We had a great time staying in this house. The location is just perfect, close to different attractions, waterfalls ,hiking trails. It is located just on the lake and fishing is very fun too. Michael is a great host. Thank you!
Great location across from boat launch. Kayaks were a lot of fun around the lake. Owner was very prompt in answering questions. Property was clean enough but not spotless.
We loved our stay at the Lake House! The home was extremely clean, cozy and well taken care of. We were surprised at how well-stocked the kitchen was, everything one could want for cooking and eating was available. The beds were very comfortable. My husband and I appreciated how quiet the neighborhood is, just what we needed. Met some of the neighbors who were very friendly and nice. We brought our two dogs who enjoyed the deck (which we were able to close off), and swimming in the lake. We highly recommend a stay here.
Bucolic Berkshire getaway on the placid shores of Ashmere Lake— This capacious, well-appointed cottage features all the comforts of home, in lush, peaceful surroundings. Michael was extremely responsive and helpful; check-in was a breeze. When not out and about, found ourselves gravitating to the cozy porch swing. We'll be back! . . . .
Overall, the house was clean enough and it was clear that the kitchen had been renovated. While that was nice, it was a surprise that the guests have to make the beds upon arrival, the only towels available were beach towels. Finally, for the cost of the unit, I do not think that it appropriate that guests are responsible to resupply the basics such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.
We had a fantastic time, even though the rain kept us indoors. The host provides lots of games and cards to play! Very well stocked with everything you need!
This cottage is located on a beautiful lake with easy access for the available kayaks, paddleboat, and rowboat. We enjoyed a beautiful fall afternoon kayaking and later using the neighbor's paddleboat, which they offered when they saw us carrying our cottage one down to the water! The kitchen was very well equipped, although the dining area could use more light. The bed was comfortable. We could have spent more time here!
We had really good time staying here. It's our second time. The lake is quiet and is nice for fishing and kayaking with provided gear. The house offers pleasant view and easy access to the lake. There are also plenty of things to do nearby, like biking (Ashuwillticook rail trail and others), hiking, enjoying art, theater and music.
Michael is a great host.
My family and I stayed here for some quiet family bonding time. The property was right near the lake. We enjoyed the peddle boat/paddle board. Played a lot of cards and games. Beautiful spot with shops close by if you forget anything, Peaceful and quiet. Would definitely come back for another visit.
We were a family of three adults and 2 grandchildren F(14) and M (11). The house was as described in the listing. Clean, spacious, with all amenities. The kitchen is large and well equipped. We enjoyed using the kayaks, row boat and paddle board. I highly recommend this property and host.
The property was fantastic overall, with a beautifully updated kitchen and well-maintained amenities. The linens were conveniently placed in the dryer and ready to be put on the beds. We enjoyed kayaking, BBQ on deck, and going to the Tanglewood. We did notice that some ceiling materials had fallen onto the counter, which was a minor inconvenience. Despite this small issue, everything else was perfect, and we had a great stay.

Girls weekend
It was not an overly inviting space. However it was comfortable enough. The railing on the staircase is loose. It needs a bit of TLC.
Overall the lodgings were adequate for our annual trip to Jacob’s Pillow. Thankfully the nights were cool for sleeping. The house is very clean but a bit musty with no ac or dehumidifier. We spent most of our time outside on the porch enjoying the lake view and fresh air.

Clean house close to lake.
We rented the house with one of our children, for a weekend last summer, when we were visiting a sleepaway camp in the area. The house was clean and came with a row boat which was great for fishing and exploring the lake. The owner was easy to deal with and the price was very reasonable. We plan on renting the house again this summer.

Musty with mold on the ceiling
There was mold on the ceiling around the pipes in the upstairs room, the beds weren't made because it was too musty to keep them out on the bed and it just felt dirty and musty in general. At least 3 of the people staying were bothered by the musty and mold smell overall and there was visible mold in the one bedroom.
The house location is gorgeous. Unfortunately there had also been a tree that was being taken down and there was saw dust everywhere. I understand the tree needed to come down, but some attempts at cleaning up the porch and furniture would have been appreciated or noted.
Other than these issues it erved it purposes.

Disappointed
The host was available by phone to address questions. Once inside the house it was apparent that the place is tired and not sure linens were clean. Back of house had a black substance growing under bedroom windows. It was cold and electric heaters upstairs were not all working. Boats under porch were dirty and old. There was no refund so we left out three night stay including the cleaning fee.
