Welcome to the Homerhof in Rottau!
We’re delighted that you’re interested in our farm. We run our farm full-time, so a few years ago we built a new free-stall barn for our cows that gives them plenty of room to move around. It’s located 280 m from our farm. Our chickens, which provide your breakfast eggs, as well as our rooster Giovanni and our Valais Blacknose sheep, also live there. Since our animals need to be cared for, we have specific arrival times (13.00 - 16.00:00 and 18.30 - 19.30:00) so that you won’t find yourself standing in front of locked doors.
Our house offers 4 guest rooms with breakfast and one apartment (without breakfast), all located on the 1st and 2nd floors and therefore, unfortunately, not wheelchair accessible. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house.
The breakfast room is located on the first floor, where breakfast is served buffet-style. We place great importance on regional products and try, whenever possible, to source everything locally.
All rooms have a balcony; otherwise, you can relax wonderfully in our garden, as we’re located in a very quiet area with little traffic.
From here, you can reach the mountains just as quickly as Lake Chiemsee—whether on foot or by bike, there’s always something to discover—and you can also get to Salzburg or Munich in about an hour.
Our apartment is located on the first floor and is equipped with a kitchenette featuring a refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, and flat-screen TV. There’s also access to a balcony with seating. The room also features a table with a bench and chairs. The bathroom with a shower and toilet is located inside the room. Breakfast is not included in the price of the apartment but can be booked as an extra.
We live where it’s worth taking a vacation! Namely, in Rottau, a village of 1,000 residents in the beautiful Chiemgau region. To the south of our village lies our local mountain, the Gederer. From Rottau, you can enjoy wonderful hikes or bike rides up the surrounding mountains. Lake Chiemsee is located 3 km north of us and is a must-see when vacationing here. Our village offers guests three restaurants for dinner, all of which are within walking distance. The Kendlmühlfilze and the Peat Museum are also natural attractions in our area.
We are Uschi and Hans, along with our children Magdalena and Korbinian. We run our farm full-time, raising dairy cattle. We’re always happy to help our guests learn more about our animals and farming. We serve the food we produce to our guests every morning as part of our generous breakfast buffet. We live on the first floor of the farmhouse, so you might hear the children in the morning or find a toy lying around here and there.
