Beautiful Getaway - Right on the Lake-Close to Skiing

Beautiful 2 bedroom (plus attic loft) home brings contemporary living to this hidden gem just 2 hours from NYC. We gutted the house completely incorporating modern amenities like a stainless steel kitchen with granite countertops, hardwood bamboo flooring and a large deck to enjoy the view of the pond just steps away. Relax in the living room watching the fire or the flat screen TV or just looking out the picture window to see the fish jumping in the pond right outside . Shmooze in the kitchen or at the dining room table just steps from the sliding doors taking you out on the deck to dine al fresco. Walk down the dock just steps from the house to swim in the refreshing pond or use our kayaks or pedal boat for a leisurely paddle. Our home is a great place for all seasons; watch the leaves change in fall, the flowers bloom in spring, close to skiiing in winter and lots of water fun in the summer. Not to mention the close proximity to the Berkshires and all it has to offer. 2 hours from NYC makes this an easy drive just to get away after a hard week at work. The house is located directly on Robinson Pond; we have a tandem kayak, and a single kayak available for your use. The house is 30 miles from Tanglewood, close to Jacob's Pillow, a short drive to Bash Bish Falls. This location is ideally situated close to NY as well as to the Berkshires plus hiking, skiing and swimming. Close to Catamount and Butternut ski areas..

A Nice Lake Getaway

This was a quick weekend getaway for us and the property checked all the boxes we needed - especially the location being right in the lake. Plenty of room for the three of us and had the amenities we needed including the kayaks.

Optimal Location

Waterfront amenities and a very nicely updated interior. Quiet, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for fully accessing the Berkshires and within driving distance of Hyde Park, NY. The site offers kayaking, swimming, fishing-- more activities than we had time to pursue! The hosts were responsive and welcoming, and the property is well-priced. We will return.

A gem.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at the cottage. We love the location at about an hour from our home in the Hudson Valley. The cove it's locate on is populated with homes but the lake is never crowded. My spouse swims across the cove easily. If you enjoy watching fish jumping for a fly, fog dancing on the water and a well appointed cottage with comfortable beds, this is the place.

Lake house getaway

We loved this place especially for its easy access to the lake! They have a wonderful deck right on the water where my husband and I had our morning coffee watching the sunrise and the fish jumping (literally jumping!) Also so easy to get in and out of the kayaks. We loved this home mostly for the easy access to enjoying the outdoor area - dinners on the deck and fires at night. But the home was great too - beds supper comfortable, lovely fire place and nice kitchen and bathroom. We look forward to staying there again next year!

Excellent getaway

I was looking for a getaway with my 18 year old son and when we walked in and he saw the house and then the kayaks he said "I love it, it's perfect" and went right down to the water and got in the kayak. We had a great time relaxing in the comfortable beds and enjoyed the two man kayak as he paddled me around to catch some pretty big bass. Perfect place, will definitely come back.

Peace and quiet

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. Property is on a pond where the main activities are swimming and fishing. There is a small private beach directly across the pond from the house. Requires a parking pass, which we could not locate so we did not use it. Neighboring houses very close but they were either not there or very quiet. Very nice kitchen which is important to us since we ate most of our meals at the cottage. Did not use attic bedroom but beds on main floor very comfortable with ceiling fans. My only complaint would be the Living room which is a bit austere and sofa uncomfortable. Listing said there was a paddle boat. Asked host about this and she said it had gone missing and said she would take it off the listing. Location is lovely in a rural area but less than 30 minutes to Hudson for shopping and entertainment.

Lake was great for swimming and kayaking and fishing! Was a very nice spot! Too hot to use the fire pit but it looked good. The household essentials were all there. Had to buy or make some ice, ice maker not working. Was a great trip! Thanks 😊

Fun & Serene Location for a Memorable Family Time

We thoroughly enjoyed some family time together at this beautiful getaway house by the lake with our three teenagers. The views of the serene lake are lovely! We liked fishing off the dock, kayaking, the fire pit and dinner on the deck overlooking the water. Our teen boys liked sleeping in the loft. We were very grateful we chose this house for our first ever trip to hike in the Catskills. Although Bash-Bosh Falls was closed due to renovations we found other great hikes with beautiful waterfalls that we will always remember.

Cute cottage

Quick Get Away

One hour commute to be closer to skiing. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. This location is quiet and picturesque and would be an ideal location for hitting the slopes at Catamount or Butternut ski areas. Also, an ideal place for the summer overlooking a lake.

Beautiful property, Quiet Neighborhood

My partner and I had an amazingly relaxing stay 2 weeks ago. Ilana was wonderful! She replied quickly to all my messages and was able to accommodate our early check-in needs. The house was warm and cozy. Very clean with all of the supplies you need for a long weekend. Outdoor space was just enough for what we needed. Really wish we had a chance to kayak, but that just means, we will schedule a future date to come back!! Definitely recommend. Thank you Ilana for your hospitality.

A Nice Place to Relax

This is an interesting place. Although set in the rural atmosphere of Columbia County, the interior is classically urbane with cool art reflecting NYC, fashion, steel and glass. It blends well and relies on the windows rather than kitschy bric-a-brac, to let it be known that one is in the country. No antlers or moose prints here. Just looking out across the lake and enjoying the view is enough to put one at ease. And, during inclement weather, watching the lightning frame the clouds and the trees is incredibly beautiful. Nature at its finest. The one difficulty is the lack of a dock. Entering the water to swim is a choice between a challenging ladder and wading through a little mucky patch. Neighbors are close but friendly. We have been renting through VRBO for years. We like a variety of places and experiencing local character. We have never been to any place more than once, except this one. This was our third time here. The convenience, proximity to gardens and mountains, waterfalls and villages, as well as the fresh air make it a worthy consideration for anyone looking to "get away".

Needs some improvements

The owner of this property responded immediately each time I communicated with her. The cleanliness of the property inside and outside was a disappointment. The owner stated that she was having trouble with her cleaning service. But the entire property inside and out could use some cleaning and sprucing up.

Wonderful Girls Weekend

We loved this home! It was a perfect stay right on the water. Close enough to cute little towns and the host was excellent with her correspondence. I highly recommend this home for anyone looking in this area to have a relaxing time with friends and family.

Beautiful lake front home!

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. The house was perfect! It was clean, comfortable and on a beautiful location overlooking the lake. Would definitely come back!
