This triple mint renovated prow front chalet home was gut renovated in 2025. No expenses were spared, top quality products right down to the brand new Pillow Top Mattress in every room! There are also 8 wall mounted LED LCD TV’s. The game room consists of a Pool Table, Foosball Table, darts & 8 person poker table. The Den & Great Room both have 60 inch TV’s. Virtually everything in this home was purchased brand new in. The home sits on 1 of the largest lots in The Hideout community.

The Hideout consists of 3,000 homes that are fully gated with tons of amenities, to name a few :

-6 private lakes
-golf course
-ski hill with lift services
-bars & restaurants
-multiple pools
-tennis courts
-basketball courts
- baseball fields

Its a 1 stop shop vacation wonderland!

Please note: you will need to fill out forms, gate registration and rental application, provide ID and Major Credit card before gaining entry to the gate. All forms and docs should be filled out at least 3 business days in advance of the rental and within 36 hours of your booking or the community will assess a $150 fee that you must reimburse me on. Absolutely no more than occupancy laws of 13 people and 4 cars are allowed on the lot. Fines start at $1000 per day. No other guests can visit the Lot while you are there. All names and ages must be registered on the application when submitted. Only up to 3 unrelated adults are allowed.

Hot tub- serviced by separate company, additional rental fee and contract. Must be arranged well in advance

Work Trip

Needed a nice convenient place to stay for the week for work. Place was perfect location for us. The house is great with lots of Amenities. Communication with the owner was fantastic. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone.

Something for everyone!

My children and I really enjoyed this home! Their ages range from 9 to 21 and there was something for everyone! They are very active and between the bikes, basketball, pool, movies, fire pit and community amenities, they were all busy and happy all the time. There is also a horseback riding stable right down the street. We brought 4 of my children's friends so I was cooking for 8, the kitchen was very well equipped and the seating indoor and out was great!

Great get away spot!

I rented this place out for 4th of July with not the greatest expectations. Usually a place in the Poconos for this price in a gated community?? boring usually. This was not. First off i wasn't sure if we were at the right place. The place was SPOTLESS - thought we broke in to someones house for a second. Everything is new, clean and well maintained. Did i mention there's a Dave N Busters in the basement?? LOL. Bonafide game room in the basement with pool table, poker table, foosball, darts and flat screen TV to watch the game. Very nice place to relax and kick it. The community itself was very impressive. Private lakes, golf courses, ski lifts (what?!), beaches, pools, bars, restaurants - you name it they have it. Not to mention if you ever get tired of going to the private places, there's a great sports bar ACROSS THE STREET from the community. Convenient? Just a little. Anyways, had a GREAT time - completely changed my opinion of the Poconos. Not just a place for quiet stargazing anymore :)

Needed Change!! Not quite what I was Expecting. Video Camera's Everywhere even over the hot tub!!

Johnny's Love Shack has lots of potential. His place is a excellent size on a well maintained lot compared to some of the other properties. The community is very nice, and I really enjoyed the 9 hole golf course and lake. But do yourself a favor, read this before you rent and maybe look at renting a different house! In regards to the house, lets just say it feels like a rental. Everything is locked up to include the thermostats and laundry. Make sure you read the fine print. If you want to use the washer it will cost quite a bit extra. I stayed a full week and made the assumption that a house that size for the price He charges would include the use of the washer and dryer. Johnny has all kinds of technology for the ac / heat, problem is, it didn't work properly the first few days and to be honest I'd like to be able to control the heat or ac. Instead I have to call him on the phone to make adjustments if the desired setting are not to your liking, no kidding!! The pool table was nice and we enjoyed that, but the dart board did not work as all the darts were old and it was non functional. The TV's were hard to work and only had a few channels on cable. You can't check in until I 5PM and you have to be out by 10am. Not sure why they need so much time to clean the house because it didn't look all that clean and the floor was so sticky it reminded me of my college days. He advised it was due to the cleaner needed for disinfecting. Yeah, right. Then if you like privacy forget it. He has cameras everywhere. Even one directly over top of the outdoor hot tub! How creepy is that! He had a fire pit and grill on the deck but only one propane tank so I had to keep moving it back and forth. If anything is missing he blames it on the renters and says he is tired of replacing things. The final thing that got me was I left an expensive bike helmet at the house. I asked him if he could ship it back and I would pay the cost for shipping. He told me he would have to charge me an additional $25 for labor to pay the cleaning service to take care of this matter. Really!! Apparently Johnny doesn't believe in customer service. I have rented house of this size many times in the past. This is the first time I have ever come across something like all of this. So if any of this resonates with you, do yourself a favor and keep looking for another property to rent!!

Great house, great spot

Short answer-we stayed here for 5 nights and really loved the house and location. Long answer- we stayed during Covid so obviously some things were closed. John is good at communicating, but there is some upfront documentation that makes renting slightly more complicated than a typical place- this includes not guaranteeing anything outside the home (firepit, hot tub). The smart home functionality is well-intended but temperature control isn't as easy as it could be. Overall I would recommend!

Great place to stay in the Poconos!

Had all the amenities you want in short term rental. Large communal kitchen/ living space, outdoor deck, multiple grills, game room, hot tub, etc. Close to several restaurants and grocery store. Close to lake Wallenpaupack, hiking trails, other Poconos attractions, not to mention plenty of amenities within the community.

Tons of rules and penny pinching

I booked this trip for a long relaxing weekend for my birthday it was anything but that. First off, John advertised his property as having A/C, washer dryer, jacuzzi, pool none of this is true. (He has since updated his listing but please note you will be hit with additional fees after booking.) Everything is for an outrageous additional fee. I paid ridiculous amount for AC for basically 2.5 days, (more than what i pay for a month in NY) and he wouldn't allow me to control it, that would be an additional outrageous fee so we were freezing at night and had no control over the AC after paying extra for something that was advertised as free. The washer/dryer is an additional fee, the jacuzzi is an additional fee, the pool is a community pool and it so over crowded and the lake is pretty much packed and gross. You pay a cleaning fee but when you read his close out rules you basically have to clean the entire place yourself, including wiping the bathroom mirrors, cleaning all the appliances, inside the microwave, wiping all the counters, check out is so early that your last day will be a very hectic morning. He advertises 7 TV and none of them aside from one was working properly. When I messaged him he said he is NOT and IT service. My group is very tech savvy and these TV were not working. The neighbors on all sides were so close, and since there are no fences separating the properties there was no privacy. There is a fine for basically everything in the neighborhood. The trash disposal alone was a gross hassle. Check in was 4:30 and he tried to push it to 5 and told me not to even go through the gates until 5. All the unreasonable additional fee add up and your better off renting place that has the amenities included. I am still in a back and forth with him about my additional AC fee that at the time was NOT advertised and he tried to tell me i want money off for a good review which is not the case since i already submitted this review before anything. is settled. I'm not sure it will be since he notified me and said he will no longer respond to me. So basically this. is just a heads up for anyone who rents this place, the host is NOT a good person and you will be bombarded with additional fees and no help.

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I stayed in the Poconos location from August 31-September 3rd. The space was large, spacious, well decorated and newly renovated. The best part of the house was the great game room (my husband loved it!). The house is near a great shopping center, supermarkets and downtown. Johnny provided great move-in instructions and was responsive throughout our stay. The house was very clean and well kept. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Awesome Weekend!

Stayed here with a group of 10 people. The house was immaculate, very spacious, and has everything you need. The driveway has enough space to park several large vehicles, the basketball court was awesome, and the porch had enough seating for 10-15 people. The house itself is in a very nice area, and there is a small convenient store just outside the community for anything you may need last minute. The dining room space was also nice, with a table that seats 10 next to a smaller table that seats 6. This house also has smart TVs everywhere, which was perfect for movie night. The game room was also an awesome addition. It had a poker table, pool table, foosball table, plastic darts, and a Wii in the den next to the game room. Overall, this house exceeded our expectations by a lot. We rent every year from different areas in the Poconos, and this is by far the nicest house we stayed at. Definitely would consider renting again for our annual trip!

Comfortable, clean, excellent Poconos getaway

We enjoyed a terrific week at John's house in the Hideout. While we could relax as much as we wanted - chill on the deck, watch tv on any of the many flat screen tvs complete with access to Netflix and Amazon - we had so many opportunities to be active. The beach and main pool were not overly crowded and tons of fun for the kids. The pool table and basketball court at the house were a huge hit, and the house is located close to a wide variety of activities. We went on a treetop adventure and zip line course, played mini-golf, spent the day on a boat on Lake Wallenpaupack, and visited the nearby Claws & Paws - all were within a 30 minute drive. Back at the house, we enjoyed cooking dinner or bringing takeout back home. The kitchen had everything needed to cook a great meal. We would have stayed another week! Only complaint... pool chalk needed to be replaced :-)

Beautiful, clean house with plenty of space!

Stayed here for a long weekend with close friends and family (7 of us in total in our 30s). The house was beautiful, well-kept, and we had plenty of room to spread out with room to spare. John is very easy-going, helpful, and great to rent from. The house itself has a ton of entertainment value. We loved the game room and the fireplace. Had a blast grilling and cooking together! Definitely will look to rent here again in the future! Thanks!

Great house, so relaxing!

Hello John, Everything was great! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your wonderful house! We had four teenagers and they were never bored! With the pool table, foosball, game system, basketball hoop, card table and dartboard, they were able to pair up and have fun, and that is when we weren't at the beach!! We had a great time, and hope to come again, only for a longer stay. We had wildlife in sight everyday from the deck! On a side note, I have to tell you about this. Your neighbor across the road, with the red Dodge truck, I may have saved him from further damage to his truck. A turkey walked across the street and walked by his truck, saw his reflection I'm guessing and started pecking the truck!! I was cracking up, because he kept walking back and forth, pecking the truck. I could hear it hitting the chrome bumper, the red paint and the rims. Best winter escape short of jumping on a plane!!!!

short of jumping on a plane and incurring a bunch of costs... I had the pleasue of spending an overnight at Mr. Lydon's home. From the play room and the auto fireplace, to the jacuzzi which is already heated and constantly running to the spacious open living room everything is as you would only hope and imagine in a winter vacation home. The game room is the ultimate man and children's cave. The place is impeccably spotless. I only wish I had more time to spend there but I only look forward to my next visit in the spring or summer and play baeketball on the court he set up there and visit the lical lakes and go boating. thx Mr Lydon for an amzing place... all the best

Perfect Family Getaway

Upon arriving and walking into the house, I knew I rented the right place. Clean, spotless and fun house was perfect for my wife, three sons and me. The kids enjoyed stomping through the woods in the back, playing basketball on the blacktop driveway and of course the basement gameroom. Plenty of room in the kitchen with a great flow to the dining and living room areas. Perfect for family meals after being out all day enjoying the Hideout amenities. Beaches, pools and row boating on the lake kept us busy. The people at the Hideout, from the security/safety people to the lifeguards, were all pleasant and very approachable. Renting from Johnny was as easy as could be. Prompt responses to any questions I had prior to the trip and reachable if need be during the trip. I will definitely be renting again. Thanks Johnny.
