The house was my childhood home and has been in my family for several generations. My husband and I couldn't bring ourselves to sell it when my father passed away so we decided to completely restore it. The house is like new with everything updated. We lovingly remade or restored all the best the house could be.

I believe you will be surprised by the quiet country feel of the neighborhood. The location is perfect for just about everything.
- New Braunfels is several minutes away with two rivers and the best waterpark in the country.
- Some of the best shopping in the state is less than 30 minutes away.
- San Antonio and the riverwalk are 45 minutes to the south and Austin is only 1 hour to the north.

- And the Texas hill country is at your back door.

Cozy stay

We very much enjoyed staying here for our weekend trip. The hosts were excellent. The house was clean. It was close to everything. We loved seeing the deer and the animals out back.

Birthday Weekend

We had a wonderful stay at this charming house and property for my fiance’s birthday. It’s close to Gruene and decorated impeccably for Christmas. The owners were easy to work with as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect weekend getaway to relax

This property is a great location close to Gruene and New Braunfels for all related activities. The grounds are very relaxing and the house is stocked with everything you need. The owner is super responsive, friendly and accommodating. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

Rahe House is quiet, well equipped, and where you watch deer, miniature horses and goats in a serene setting. It feels remote but you are right by historic Gruene, Texas. A perfect place for a perfect stay!

Perfect House, Great Stay!

We really enjoyed this property. It was very cozy and comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. 4 adults (one couple two singles) stayed and were very comfortable with the sleeping arrangements. The extra mattresses were regular sized and comfortable. Thanks for a great stay.

Lovely Hideaway Close to Historic District

My family had a great stay while visiting Gruene for a wedding. The ambiance of the house & heavily treed lot was just what we were looking for. We enjoyed coffee on the porch while watching the many deer and butterflies. The home was well appointed with anything one might need and the Gruene historic district was only about a 5 minute drive away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this home when in the area again.

Beautiful home

We had a wonderful stay! This is a beautiful house in a great location. Right around the corner from Gruene Hall and the Grist Mill. We enjoyed watching deer in the yard every morning. Check-in was a breeze. We definitely recommend this rental!

Lovely & Quiet

This home is tucked back in a quiet neighborhood near Gruene. We enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. The house was perfect for us and very clean. We were thrilled to have such a nice place to stay. There were deer, goats and miniature horses on the property. It made me feel at home to be there.

The Little Rock house with the hobbit door was lovely. And the herd of deer in the neighborhood was amazing. Marjorie was such a sweet host and above and beyond helpful as my new car battery went dead and neither of our cars had jumper cables. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will return

Great house, responsive owner

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Went for the eclipse. Drove 20 miles for totality and it was a dud (clouds), but the house was stellar. Great WiFi if you need it, good appliances if you’re cooking. Well-stocked. Both Keurig and drip coffee makers and tons of Keurig pods if you are so inclined. Marjorie was very responsive to questions re: AC thermostat and the intricacies of lowering blinds (operator error on my part). She comes over every day to feed the deer in the back area but is not intrusive at all. Got to meet Chubby and Elsie, the goats. Nice quiet neighborhood. Train comes by occasionally but wasn’t too close to spoil the atmosphere. Would definitely stay there again if in the vicinity.

Quaint and comfortable cottage close to NB and Gruene. Lots of deer roaming around. Very peaceful. Fully stocked and clean. Friendly and helpful owner.

We stayed at the Rahe Guest Haus for a quiet family getaway. This house was perfect and a real gem. Communicating with Marjorie was great as she was very responsive to all messages. It was nice to meet her upon our arrival too. The property was extremely clean with plenty of fresh linens and towels provided. No details were spared as Marjorie provided all the "little things" that make a BIG difference. Such as, providing coffee and creamer, shower toiletries, laundry detergent, and a completely decked out kitchen; those small details always make a VRBO so enjoyable. My husband and I enjoyed drinking our coffee or cocktails outside while watching the many deer on the property.They were so cute! There were many sitting areas outdoors and we enjoyed a dinner outside on the picnic table too. The property is a very short drive from Gruene, maybe 6 minutes or so. So it was not too far but just far enough. We also enjoyed an evening stroll taking in all the scenery and wildlife. Again, the Rahe Guest Haus was a real treasure and we can't wait to come back. Don't pass on this beautiful home!!!

What a relaxing stay we had at the Rahe Guest house! The bed was so comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Marjorie the owner lives next door and is a lovely person! She is right there if you need anything, but does not intrude on your privacy. The house is in a quiet area, with deer roaming the yard daily! Plenty of restaurants and things to do in the area.

Marjorie was an excellent host. She was very flexible with timing if there was not another renter back-to-back. Since she lives next door she was able to quickly resolve a minor maintenance issue before we arrived, and clearly communicated timelines with us while we were traveling.The property is beautiful, and just around the corner from Rockin R on the Guadalupe and downtown Gruene. New Braunfels proper is only ten minutes away.We enjoyed seeing the deer, ponies, and goats, and the house itself was cozy and clean.
