Wow great experience. Was historic. Walking distance to Hackney and all great food in whole town. Coffee shop 100 yards as well as breakfast sandwiches where local go 200 yards. Host great, house great and town great.
Second year staying at this wonderful location. As always- everything perfect, immaculate, well stocked and welcoming. This year we were able to enjoy the swing on the covered porch. Nothing beer than a warm cup of coffee on a cool, rainy day sitting on a porch swing!
Lovely stay in a beautiful and clean upper floor of an historic building. Easy parking and walk into town, with a great choice of restaurants. The owners are wonderful and went above and beyond to make our stay special.
We had a girls weekend and it was the perfect location. We walked everywhere we wanted to go. The host was very nice and helpful. The space was clean and very comfortable. We also enjoyed sitting on the front porch! We highly recommend and would definitely return!

Staff was wonderful. Very polite and cordial. We had a wonderful time in Washington
The suite was clean and well maintained. It was beautifully decorated and the hosts made sure we had everything we needed. The location was in a perfect area, not in town but everything was in a walkable distance. Would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful day at Swindell Inn in Washington, North Carolina and would absolutely give it five stars. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and we especially loved the privacy of the second floor along with the private sitting room. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made it easy to fully relax, and we had a great night sleep. Keith and Gail were warm and welcoming hosts and you can really feel the care they put into the experience. We’d happily stay here again!
Such a great place for a weekend in Washington! My friend and I came to town for a wedding, and it was great walking distance for our events during the weekend. Keith & Gayle were wonderful hosts, greeted us both upon arrival, and gave us the grand tour. They also pointed out some favorite restaurants and things to do!
The property is a beautiful Queen Anne Victorian home on a quiet street surrpunded by similar historic homes. The rental space is large, clean, and well appointed; the hosts gracious and helpful. A wonderful experience all around. We look forward to visiting again!
Our host, Keith, met us upon arrival and provided a tour and some excellent restaurant recommendations. The house itself is just adorable. Two nice bedrooms with comfortable beds, a cozy sitting room and a modern bathroom. A Keurig and mini fridge are provided. Plan to eat out.
The owner was very cordial and extremely helpful in suggesting things to do and places to eat. A three block walk to the historic downtown with great restaurants and shops and the waterfront boardwalk/park. Two bedrooms and a sitting/TV room on the second floor.
The house is lovely. The beds and linens were super comfy and cozy. There was plenty of coffee, tea and water available for us. They are working on an upstairs sitting room which will be a nice addition. Street parking was convenient. We were able to park right in front of the home the whole weekend. You also can't ask for a better location. The river is directly across the street and all the downtown shops and restaurants are within walking distance.
What a find for a two-night mother-daughter trip to Washington, NC! Keith could not have been nicer, both through online communication and in person. He greeted us when we arrived, gave us a brief history of the house and the renovation of it, and told us everything we needed to know about the upstairs rooms we had use of, which also included a sitting room that contained a large tv, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and dishes/utensils/cups/mugs. The beds and linens were very comfortable. Perfect getaway location for a mother-daughter or best friends trip. I will definitely recommend it to anyone I know planning a trip to Washington, NC!
Historic home within walking distance of downtown Washington NC. Guests have upstairs. Plenty of privacy. Owner is responsive and easy. House is updated with modern bathroom. Upstairs has 2 large bedrooms with comfortable beds. Plenty of chairs for reading. A separate living room with a small fridge, microwave and Kuerig. I discovered English breakfast tea. Multiple tv,s. Can walk down multiple streets to view historic homes. Less than 10 minute stroll to center of downtown. Restaurants, cafes, 2 breweries and multiple small shops. Less than 5 minutes to coffee shop and Dairy Queen. My wife and I hope to return.
The whole process with booking to meeting with Keith when we arrived was pleasurable. His recommendation for the area were spot on and much appreciated. The house was beautiful. A little put off as there is no way to close off the second floor from the front entry and step. I could lead to compromising positions. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends.
Wonderful long weekend. Our second year staying here. Upstairs rental in a historic house. Plenty of privacy. 2 bedrooms, bathroom and a living room. Small fridge and microwave. Keurig. Porch for reading. Can walk among the historic homes. Close walk to downtown for food, shopping and places to sit along the river.
