the cottage has been in the current family for 4 generations of Leland Summer season residents. Since 1930 their families have enjoyed making memories in this wonderful original Up North Michigan retreat. Sailing and boating with family and friends, spending summer days and evenings on the expansive private lawn playing games, jumping off the dock, swimming to the raft. The family has thoughtfully preserved the "authentic" sense of a summer season experience from a bygone era. With purpose guests will immerse themselves in the woods on the shore of Lake Leelanau in this special original gem.

Why they chose this property

It is rare to be able to stay in a private residence in town Leland on North Lake Leelanau. This location is exceptional as it is indeed private in the woods yet close to all the village of Leland and the North Lake have to offer. Close to the Leland Country Club and Leland Yacht Club. LYC provides sailing classes for all ages every summer just a few paces from the cottage. Leland Country Club is a private club yet does provide access to exceptional golf and tennis lessons during peak summer season to visitors.

The cottage is ideal for a family looking to get away from it all and immerse themselves in the Northern Michigan - Leelanau County life. Enjoying time together on the lake swimming, boating, paddling, relaxing. Play games at night, read books, sit on the dock and watch the fireworks or star gaze. Take in the natural beauty of still pristine Lake Leelanau. Walk or bike up the street to Lake Michigan beach access at North Beach, Vans Beach, or Reynolds/South Beach all just a short distance from the cottage.
