The property setting is wooded yet the cottage is full of light. Guests might sit on the end of dock to meditate with morning coffee, do yoga, and catch the sunrise. Or sit on the patio for late evening sunset over the Manitou Passage on Lake Michigan to the west. The sandy shore offers easy access into shallow waters keeping little ones comfortably swimming and paddling near the shore. the bottom is sandy and easy for wading or quick swims. The long private dock is for guests use only providing moorage for guest's boat buoy/anchor between shore with sandy lake bottom. What makes this property unique

Long Dock Cottage is rare opportunity to stay on the coveted North End of North Lake Leelanau in a very private setting. it is quiet, wooded, and yet close to everything Leland and Leelanau County have to offer for a premier get away. The cottage has been thoughtfully maintained with much of the original character and intent retained. Originally built a family summer cottage it remained so for decades. Current owners continue to make improvements yet do not want to lose the charm and character of this Leland gem. Visitors will find a lovely cottage prepared for their visit with modern interiors yet charm intact as they anticipated when from the city or suburbs. The cottage has a delightfully long dock with nice shallow water with sandy bottom making it easy to jump right in or slowly ease your way out for a swim. You might not see another person all day while resting on the shore or patio. Or enjoy a long lounge on the end of the dock watching boats go by during the peak of the afternoon.
