This classic Northern Michigan get-away is from a bygone era. The cottage is an authentic Up North experience built mid-century in the A-frame style. Quintessential cozy family gathering space. A private dunescape setting in the woods on the shore of Lake Michigan. This location is the premier most spot in all of Leelanau County. If you could take a pin and place it at the center of all Leelanau has to offer AND be right on the big lake this would be the precise destination. Quiet and private nestled in the forest yet still close to the villages of Leland, Lake Leelanau, Suttons Bay, Northport, Omena, Maple City, Glen Arbor. Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore starts approximately 1/2 mile down the shore with access to pristine beaches, dunes to climb, and endless fresh water to enjoy. The cottage provides a picture framed floor-to-ceiling window view from the living-dining space with panoramic views of the expanse of Good Harbor Bay, Pyramid Point, and the Manitou Island Passage. From the beach, you may take in the view to the north of Whaleback Point and on a clear day the Fox Islands archipelago. Favorite things to do are walking the beach rock hunting, swimming&snorkeling in Big Blue, stargazing, reading, or enjoying a family meal on the expansive deck overlooking the water. Bike out your door to world class cycling along M22 or the Heritage Bike Trail 3 miles to the south. Leelanau Conservancy's Palmer Wood mountain bike trail is 3.5 miles to the south. Easy access to Leelanau Conservancy hikes at Whaleback Trailhead and Clay Cliffs just south and north of Leland approximately 6 miles to the north. The property is unique not only due to its exceptional lakefront location yet also due to the rare sense of seclusion in the woods and dunes giving the feeling of getting away from it all. Family Time

My husband and I rented this sweet house so we could be with our daughter and two granddaughters. A very relaxing time. We walked on the beach, went swimming, cooked, played cards, put a puzzle together and enjoyed being with each other. Our Christmas in July! A very comfortable house.

Amazing Beachfront Cottage on Good Harbor Bay

My family and I had a lovely time at this charming cottage right on Good Harbor Bay. If you don't know, Good Harbor is a hidden jewel on the Leelanau Peninsula, the beach is amazing and great for little children (mine are ages 2 and 4). Whenever we come to Leelanau we always make a stop at Good Harbor Bay Beach and have always wanted rent a house there, but have never found one, until now. This property was charming, clean, and had all of the amenities one needs for a pleasant stay. Melissa was very easy to communicate with and even left us some scrumptious biscotti from 9 Bean Rows (a must for anyone visiting). From beach towels to skewers for roasting marshmallows, not one detail was overlooked. We especially loved the rock collection, a very unique detail for a special cottage. We had a lovely time, even when the weather was crummy there were board games for the girls to play with. Overall I highly recommend this quaint and charming cottage with amazing beachfront access and sunsets that can't be beat.

Two weeks of heaven

My husband, 11-year old son and I spent two glorious weeks here. The cottage location is perfect - 10 minutes to Leland and 10 to Suttons Bay. We didn’t eat out very much though. Instead, we spent the evenings dining outdoors and admiring the sunsets. We felt as though we were the only people on the beach! Beautiful waters, lots of fun walking the beach and finding cool rocks. I really can’t wait to go back.
