What's the craziest thing you've ever bought off FB Marketplace?? This caboose is ours!
BEDROOM: -queen bed -reading lights -white noise machine -smart TV -small dresser -remote controlled LED lights that illuminate the ceiling in different colors -blackout pulldown blinds
PARKING: up to 3 cars may park at the caboose (off-street driveway for 1-2, street parking for 1-2)
HEATING/AIR: ductless heating & air with remote
POTENTIAL FOR NOISE: This industrial experience will NOT be for everyone, especially those looking for total quiet. You will hear the sounds of trains going by, construction forklifts beeping, etc. The factory works through the night. Some nights are more noisy than others, and unfortunately this is out of our control. Sunday nights tend to be the quietest as often the factory is off work!
Our family lives nearby and is not usually bothered by it, but we realize it's not for everyone, particularly if you're a light sleeper. The caboose has sound-proofing and double layers of insulation around the bedroom area, and we provide a white noise machine and portable fan for your added comfort.
*You must be 25 years or older to reserve James Station.
ADDITIONAL GUESTS: If you have more than 3 in your group wanting to stay, we also offer a 1 bedroom apartment AND a separate 5 bedroom home nearby that you may rent in coordination with your stay. Look up our listings (under Amy's profile) "River View Downtown Historic Apartment" or the "Candy Apple."
HOSTED BY: James Station is hosted by All Belong Co, a local small business dedicated to providing 5 star stays. Our team will take good care of you!
SMALL GATHERINGS: Gatherings and small events are considered on a case by case basis and include an event fee. Please message our team & provide as many details as possible.

We took a quick little getaway from Norfolk for my husband to have a jeep excursion at the George Washington National Forest. He is an avid lover of trains and James Station did not disappoint. We loved everything about our stay even down to our cute little neighbors, the beavers! We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

What a fun trip! We're glad that the caboose was such a hit with your husband and we'd love to welcome you back anytime.
Great place to vacation. Very cozy and peaceful. The noise from the foundry didn't bother us at all. And it was so interesting to watch. Great communication from our host. We were there when it was too cold to be outside. Highly recommended.

Thanks so much for vacationing with us, Judy! The foundry is so neat and we are glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent communication with the hosts from the very beginning. Darling caboose with everything you need to have a lovely stay. The view overlooking the dam was lovely. The manufacturing plant at the bottom of the bluff wasn't really a noise problem unless the forklifts are running. The host has anticipated your every need by providing earplugs and a "sound machine" that certainly did its job. Worth noting is that when we visited we had a huge change in temperatures that required us to use the heat one night. The unit takes several minutes to switch over from cooling to heat, so don't be impatient like me. Just give it a sec because it works like a charm. Highly recommend Cast Iron Pizza on Church St downtown. But you have to plan ahead, as they only make so much dough per day and when it's gone, it's done for the day. Plan on doing carry out as there are only two table, or make a reservation as they do cute wine flights and have a great wine list. Overall, a great stay that we enjoyed very much!

Thank you so much, Barb! We are so thrilled that you enjoyed your time at the caboose and the area. You are welcome back anytime!
Wonderful stay at the caboose. Excellent communication with the hosts! They were great to work with. As mentioned in the listing, it is on top of a hill overlooking a working steel mill, but once inside you could not hear anything! They did a grea job with insulation and blinds so it does not disturb you at night. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed staying at the caboose. The decor was aesthically pleasing while being very comfortable and the rental had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We stayed overnight for our son's 6th birthday. The location is so close to everything downtown and what a great novelty place to stay! The bed was super comfortable and the view was great! We wish it had not been so cold the night we stayed because we wanted to check out the firepit! If you are looking for a unique place to stay, this is a great choice!
We loved this adorable and quirky caboose! What a unique opportunity! It was tastefully decorated/renovated and clean.

I cannot say enough good things about both this property and the host. Terrific experience and a magical renovation of an old train classic caboose. My wife and I stayed here and were blown away by the attention to detail. Thank you All Belong Co.
The Caboose was exactly as described except better! We loved it. It is in a historic area of town. The view is phenomenal, the amenities are everything that is needed and it felt like home. We would stay here again. Thank you for opening the Caboose to us.

Thank you so much for that wonderful feedback, can't wait to host you again!
The caboose was as described. It was nice and comfortable. There is some noise from the factory below but you could hardly hear it inside. The setting inside was very neat and clean. The neighborhood was ok.
The Caboose was exactly what was described. Very clean and welcoming.the view overlooking the James river was memorizing. Slight noise from the factory below but not bad at all. History in the making! We loved our stay and will be back! Thank you for your hospitality!
