This vrbo was the best experience we have ever had.. darling place for our sibling family weekend..it felt like home , clean , cute and cant wait to make a return vist..
Perfect location to stay as we had 4 adults from work visiting RV Factories in the area. The location of this property, cleanliness, and modern updates would give it 5 STARS.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful bungalow. The house is very clean and the owners have thought of every single detail. We hope to return sometime next year for another visit. Highly recommend this property. Thanks for the cookies! They were delicious.
House was beautifully decorated and super clean. Close to town and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Short drive to other towns nearby for shopping . Owners great to deal with and ease of communication. Plan to stay again next time we visit the area.
This was our second stay at the Bungalow, and we enjoyed it as much our first. My group of 8 were traveling to attend a Notre Dame football game and stayed over the weekend. Our experience with the property and the host was excellent. There was great communication, attention to detail, beautifully decorated spaces and even some extras like coffee and cookies that made us fell so welcomed. My entire group wanted to stay longer so we could enjoy more of the property and the surrounding area.
Rose and Mike leave no stone unturned as the perfect hosts! We stay in several vacation properties a year, and these two pay so much attention to every little detail. This darling cottage home lends a feel of luxury in the heart of Amish country!
The house is beautifully done! Comfort for the 4 of us for the week. Great sitting room with gas fireplace. 3 options for making coffee! Great all around.
My Mom and daughters and I stayed to celebrate my Mom’s 75th! We had an amazing weekend and we absolutely loved everything about this house! From the ribboned towels to the fresh baked welcome cookies to all the little extras! We can tell the owners put so much thought into the decor, stocking the kitchen and overall making us feel right at home. We will definitely be back!
Sweet place with lots of thought put into the amenities
Very pleasant and luxurious, and we want to come back for a more lengthy stay. It had so many thoughtful extras, such as latte machine, cookies, snacks, water bottles, kindling for the fire pit, full rack of Keurig coffees, games, and bathroom extras. The only drawback is that there is one tiny bathroom for the three upstairs bedrooms, but it is worth working it out amongst us.
The home is absolutely beautiful and a mixture of old and new…Beautiful woodwork, a unique entry, built-in shelving and huge closets, large bedrooms and a beautiful updated kitchen with everything you would need and more. Every room was perfectly decorated and gave such a welcoming feel. The hosts truly thought of everything and had so many wonderful touches and amenities. Great location and easy to find with shops and restaurants close by. We loved hearing and seeing the Amish buggies go right past the house. Already planning our next trip in warmer weather when we can enjoy the great backyard.
We came to the area to attend a ND football game. What a gem we found in the bungalow. It has been updated beautifully. There are so many little touches that the owners have added. Yummy coffee bar and cookies, water in the fridge and SO MUCH MORE. The front porch was a great place to sit and watch the world go by (including the horse and buggies!) and there are so many comfy little reading corners. I regret not having time to try them all out. We are planning to come back and spend more time at the bungalow.
One of THE BEST places we’ve ever stayed. Our host went over the top to make our stay comfortable. We had plenty of room, cookies upon arrival, beautiful back yard, comfortable rooms, great location. Just loved everything. Booking Shaina for next year!
Our group of 5 ladies stayed in this lovely home for 4 nights in Sept. 2025. We loved sitting on the front porch with the horse and buggies going by. Everything about this home is so comfortable and inviting and beautifully decorated. From the delicious "Welcome" cookies, providing bottled water, coffee, etc to the comfortable sitting areas, large dining room table, and spacious bedrooms. The home was spotless, and Mike & Rose assisted with all of our trip planning questions and requests. We appreciated the upstairs bathroom which a lot of older homes do not have. It is on the small side, but it met our needs. We did not have time to enjoy the back yard with the fire pits, croquet, bags, etc., but it would be perfect for a family! It was a short drive to Shipshewana with beautiful countryside. You absolutely cannot go wrong by choosing this "Charming 1912 Bungalow." We hated to leave and if the opportunity ever arises, we will be back!
Beautiful older home that was very clean and tastefully decorated. Very comfortable furniture and accommodations. Roomy bedrooms and living areas. Large kitchen well equipped with complimentary coffee and delicious cookies. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
It was an easy choice picking to stay here again. A block away from West On Warren and very convenient for our work trip. Plenty of room for us! Appreciate all of the included amenities and the cookies are the best!
We so much enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and spotless. Rose responded immediately to any questions. The extra touches - a coffee bar, extra toothbrushes, cookies from a local bakery to name just a few - are so thoughtful. We’re already planning to book again.
Best girls trip ever! This rental and the owners’ attention to detail, their helpfulness, and hospitality made a great trip even better. Mike & Rose went above & beyond and I would highly recommend their home to everyone. Perfect place to stay!
Most amazing home away from home house I’ve ever stayed at! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was exactly as described in the listing (and then some!). Quiet neighborhood, cute shops, close to hardcore shopping in Shipshewana. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

About the host
Hosted by Mike and Rose
My husband is a semi-retired Agronomist and I am a Sr. Sales Director with Mary Kay. We both have an eye for detail and love to host, whether in our home or in our STR properties. We also have 2 STR properties in Hilton Head and 1 in Sisters Oregon. They are all unique and different and we enjoy them all.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I, we purchased this bungalow in July of 2022. We fell in love with it and have lovingly updated it and filled it with items that we love. It is a fairly large, open house with lots of interesting built-ins and unique closet space, along with beautiful, original windows upstairs. It was built in 1912, and is amazinly open on the main floor. We are located in downtown Middlebury, 1 block from the pumpkin vine nature trail, where you can ride your bike or hike to Shipshewana or Goshen. Shipshewana is about an 8 mile drive. Goshen is about an 8 mile drive as well. Notre Dame is about a 27 drive.
What makes this property unique
I love our front porch. It takes me back to days of my childhoodl, where we would gather on the swing and talk and laugh with our neighbors. I love our back yard. It is shaded, semi private, with a deck, lights, grill and adirondack chairs to relax in. I love the serinity of our home. I hope that when you enter, you will feel the quiet comfort of knowig that this is a place you can shake off all the worries of the outside world.
