Welcoming serene Delaware Beachfront cottage located in the heart of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge (8000+acres). Beautiful natural beach with Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean views. Abundant wildlife, birds, and sea life. Property is sanitized and sparkling clean with basic amenities.
After years and years of study, we have come up with an all natural, eco friendly solution to common insects at the beach. We now have a new addition to our private beach paradise, a family of resident, Purple Martin’s to take care of all those pesky insects!
Free Wi-Fi! The Cottage has cold A/C and is heated during colder months. Enjoy surf fishing. Bring your own boat, jet skis, kayak, or Jon boat and beach chairs. Free Wi-Fi!

Fenced yard for dogs. Shower off the sand in the Bath(Shed)House. Laundry & bathroom are available in Bath(Shed)House. However, Shed House is Winterized during the months of, Dec, Jan, Feb & March. So no water usage, no second bathroom.

Awesome porch/great room, perfect for entertaining! Listen to the soothing waves or relax by the fire pit under a starlit night sky. Witness beautiful sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean and in the evening, see stunning sunsets over the refuge wetlands.

Lovely place for us and our pets! It was so nice to just relax. It’s right on the beach and has a great fenced in yard for the pups!! They have just about thought of everything you need for a beach day and have it there in the shed for you to use. Was wonderful!!!!!Definitely would stay there again!

We had a wonderful stay for our anniversary weekend! Suzy is an incredible host, was so on top of communication. This cozy beach house was clean in a wonderful quiet area away from all of the tourist areas where you can really just enjoy nature. We feel so recharged! Still close enough to get quickly into town and enjoy restaurants, shops and mini golf. Our sweet old dog got to enjoy the very dog friendly beach. We can’t wait to come back with the kids!

Perfect getaway

My dog and I had a great time here. The beach is right in the backyard, and we didn't bump into any other people. The home is one of the cleanest rentals I've ever stayed in, and Suzy was very communicative. Would definitely come back again!

Great place to get away!

Our family wanted a place to get away and was able to stay here and bring our dogs. We all had a great time, relaxed, enjoyed the bay and the area. This house is right on the dunes and a short walk to the beach. Great beach getaway.

Peaceful beach

We had a great stay at Suzy’s on Primehook Beach with our dog. The house is right on the beach and is in a very quiet neighborhood. Our dog loved swimming in the bay and watching the horseshoe crabs. Saw very few people on the beach during our stay. House had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Suzy was very communicative and sent us all of the info that we needed before our trip. One tip: make sure to write down the Wi-Fi information before you arrive at the house. There is very limited cellular service, so we were unable to access the VRBO app and had to drive back to the coastal highway to get a signal to retrieve the WiFi info.

Perfect relaxing getaway

This charming cottage is ideal for a peaceful getaway. If you’re looking to avoid crowds and noise, this is the perfect spot. Perfect getaway, as always

We love our stays here (this was our second year) we stay between Christmas & New Years & it’s just heavenly. We love the remoteness, quiet & everyone is so friendly! We love exploring the Wildlife Refuge, it never disappoints. The house is perfect for us & our pups & we will be back! Gorgeous views of the Bay & we love the visits from the Snow Geese!

Paradise!

We had the most amazing week. The cottage is clean and cozy with such incredible views of the bay. Perfect neighborhood for walking/running. Marsh is on the other side of the road and the birding is great! We plan on staying here many more times!

Perfect Beach House To Getaway & Relax

This place is a quintessential beach house with a touch of that cozy bygone vibe yet with all the current day necessities that make for an enjoyable stay. From the house there's great bay views, refreshing breezes, and the relaxing sound of waves crashing. We met a couple locals that were friendly and welcoming which is always a bonus. Overall, it was a great getaway and the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Great Getaway with the Dogs

We've stayed at a few properties in Prime Hook Beach and this is our favorite one when traveling with our dogs. The fenced yard can't be beat. The beach is just steps away and never too crowded. The house had everything we needed. The host answered all of our questions super fast.

Summer Vacation 2020

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and very comfortable. The sunrises are amazing. I got a lot of beautiful pictures. The outside shower and washer and dryer were very nice to have. It was really great to have a private beach. Nice and quiet and very relaxing. We look forward to returning next year.

Wonderful New Year’s Eve

We had a fantastic two nights celebrating New Years at Suzy’s quiet and comfortable beach cottage. Suzy was very communicative and made the process a breeze; we particularly appreciated her recommendation to bring firewood for a fire on the beach at night! We look forward to returning.

Pure Relaxation

This house is perfect for our family of 5 and our tripawd dog! The house has everything you need. And we love that the beach is right there! Our only issue (which has nothing to do with the owner and the house) were the black flys….they were brutal the whole week we were there!

A perfect stay in every way

We needed a quiet winter getaway and this home was absolutely perfect! Bright and beachy, while warm and cozy. Our welcome basket was extremely thoughtful--AND useful; the home was spotlessly clean, and the beds and bedding were really comfy. The private beach was ideal for long walks, the sunsets were gorgeous, and there was even wood for our small bonfire on the beach that last night. --Like I said, just PERFECT!

Promehook Beach

Primehook Beach is a beautiful and quiet private beach. The house we rented was perfect for the two of us and our small dog. Our dog loved the very spacious fenced yard! Just steps to the beach for great walking!! The unit was very clean and set up nicely. Lots of seating and the view is awesome. The kitchen is roomy for a small house. Loved our stay!

We had a great stay! I would book this again. This location is a private area so the only people you see are people who live there or visiting, no extra visitors. We were their early June and it is horseshoe crab time. Which was cool to see. They are out early morning and late evening. I share because we did not want to go in the water with them around. My husband shore fished. He caught some crab but also got a string ray. He thinks he had 2 shark on but we are not sure, the line was cut completely. The house had everything we needed to enjoy some downtime as a family.If you want a quiet and relaxing time, book here! If you want a location with lots of people and action, I would book elsewhere because this is not your place.

Awesome! Cutest little beach house! So welcoming and inviting as soon as you walk in the door.

Girlfriend weekend! Absolutely perfect place. Cute, comfy, fully equipped bungalow right on the beach. The owner has made the place warm and welcoming. VRBO was easy to use to book. I couldn't figure out the checkout process but I'm sure that was my non-technical side showing through! I can't wait to go back with my husband!

Fall Beach Trip

The property was amazing. The house was clean and very comfortable. When we weren't spending time walking or playing on the beach, we spent it on the cozy porch by the fire or playing games at the kitchen table. The place was everything we were looking for in a long weekend trip. The owner was very quick to respond and very helpful. There was a nice little welcome basket with a treat (that my family devoured quickly) and other items for our stay. I would highly recommend and we'll be back in the future.

Beautiful cozy and clean getaway on the bay.

This was our second time returning. We love it. Only steps from the beach. We especially love that we could take Nikki and Coco, our German Shepherd and Chocolate Lab. They had just as much fun as we did. The home is so cozy with everything you might need. Very clean. AC was cold on those very hot sunny days. The view is fantastic. We love the bay. We walked 15 miles along the beautiful beach while we were there. My son and fiancé joined us for a few days which we loved! Hats off to Suzy.

Lovely long weekend getaway!

We had a great time, our very first time staying at Prime Hook Beach, and hope to return again! The pictures and the many reviews accurately match and describe the house. It’s perfectly clean and well maintained and very well supplied. The house is really a well designed beachfront property, sitting just over the dunes, just a short private pathway in the sand to the beach. It’s our kind of beach, natural, secluded, away from the bustle and crowds. In fact our mid September visit meant we rarely saw anyone else, just waves and sand and our doggie dashing into the water. What a welcoming place for our pet, and so very comfortable for us, too. Just what we wanted, a peaceful, relaxing long weekend at the shore, an easy 2.5 hour drive due East from our city. Our host is so accommodating and responsive, we sure hope that she’ll have us back!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this little shack on the beach. It was exactly what we were looking for, a week with peace and quiet! We only saw 2 other humans the entire time we were here. The house was simple and very clean, but perfect for us and our 2 little ones (4 and 1). One step and you are in the sand. WE made it for the height of horseshoe crab mating, so we got to flip a lot of crabsin the early mornings with our 4 year old duaghter, who thought it was the coolest thing! She also like to dance on the sandbars. We made lots of sand castles and had 2 fires on the beach. .We cooked most of our meals but did have a great meal at FINS in Rehobath Beach. It gave us a much needed break from our stress filled lives! We miss it already! Thanks Ed

I am an Olympian, Mother, Wife & Animal lover. Just like many of you, life gets very hectic & challenging. My family & I vacationed at Ed’s cottage in Prime Hook and didn’t want to leave. We loved this secluded area & cottage so much we decided to purchase it. We want to carry on Ed,s tradition of hassle free, pet friendly & honesty. This is a natural preserved beach with no retail, hustle or bustle. We have a private secluded beach and a completely new fenced in yard for our animal lovers. There are farm stands, antique stores minutes away. We are close to all of the tourist resorts such as Lewes, Rehoboth, Bethany, Dewey, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City. We are about a 20-minute drive from the Cape May Ferry (you watch the ferry cross to Cape May from Delaware on the beach), and about 20 minutes to the Casino in Harrington. The best part of our beach when you are here is nothing seems close until you leave the property.
