Our favorite Black Hills Cabin

We loved this cabin for our two families (eleven of us). It's literally about a three-minute drive from the ski lodge, so it was a perfect location. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms. We all loved the big hot tub. One of the best parts was the giant entry-way with all the hooks and benches and shelves for all of our shoes and boots and snow pants, etc. We will be staying here again next year!

Mom’s 70th Birthday

This was our first trip to SD. Beautiful area! The home was lovely. I’m sure it’s even nicer in the winter. We didn’t realize how high up we were, so the drive up/down the mountain each day was a bit time-consuming (10-15 mins depending upon your speed). The 3rd floor stayed warm, especially in the bedrooms, even with the AC set on 68 degrees. It just never really cooled down in the house. And the lack of ceiling fans just compounded the issue, very uncomfortable sleeping conditions. Also, there is a huge lack of storage…no closets, no armoires and only one dresser (top floor bedroom). We had to live out of our suitcases for an entire week, which was not ideal and not what you’d expect staying in a house, more storage in a hotel room. But aside from that, we had a very nice family get-together to celebrate our mom’s milestone birthday. ;-)
