Little Cottonwood Yuletide Skiing

We stayed in this sprawling house for a Christmas ski trip with 3 other families. The house was wonderful--plenty of room, well-equipped kitchen, warm fireplace, etc. Door-to-door to Alta and Snowbird is 20 minutes without traffic. Thanks to the hosts for quick responses on our few questions. We look forward to getting back to this great place.

Perfect for Large Group

19 of us stayed at this home. It looked just as listed. It was clean and worked great for all of us to gather together or go to different parts of the home to hang out. We were in Utah for a family wedding and the location was perfect. Just 25 minutes from SLC Airport and close to the wedding venue as well as close to things to do.

Family stay for a wedding

We had family members that ranged in ages of 6 years to 85 years during our stay for our son’s wedding weekend. There was room for everyone with room to spare… home is laid out very well with thought given to all ages. There was little that we needed that hadn’t been provided. Very nicely appointed home and Jessica was very easy to work with our ever changing schedule!! So appreciate everything that made our stay so comfortable. Michele

Not a luxury mansion!

This property was very dirty and the dead yard was full of mice nests! The host would not message back and there were no check out instructions. We would not stay here again!

Great Location, Great Interior Space for large groups

The interior space was really nice, lots of rooms and beds. The pictures don't lie! Everything was clean and well appointed. The bathrooms and kitchens we very well stocked. 7 bedrooms with at all Kings or Queen bunkbeds offers so much room for large groups! We arrived offseason in the fall for hiking and the location was very close to both the mountains and nearly by areas for food. The exterior looks like it's still being worked on, but if we really didn't mind that at all. Lots of potential. The only small thing was the hot tub and spatub was pretty dirty, it probably needs TLC for the winter when skiers will want to use it a lot. The hosts were good with communication before, during and after. What was really nice was the check-out instructions, we have stayed at many places that have whole long list of things to do, but this was more like a hotel, just put dishes in the dishwasher and go. Made the vacation feel like a vacation.

Beautiful inside, a mess outside

This home was beautifully decorated and spacious. The outside lawn, both front and back, was full of weeds, pea gravel and bush stumps...a real disappointment. The lap pool and hot tub were great except the deck umbrella was broken and tipped over. Communication with the hosts was good initially but at the time of our arrival, I still had not received a code to enter the home. We checked in the back of the house and two doors were unlocked. We did some minor damage to the home and the host was very good about handling this situation.

Home not leaned from previous guests

Had to reach out (after 4pm check in time) for details on entering the home. Front yard full of weeds and curb appeal of an abandoned home. Upon arrival, found that house had not been cleaned from previous guests. Used glasses and old food on counters, all beds slept in, towels on floors, all garbages full, windows in bedrooms left open. Hot tub was filthy. Attempted to call host 5 times without an answer. She finally messaged that she was not available to talk. Jessica said that her cleaner must have had an emergency and wasnt able to clean. She wasnt able to have a cleaner there until next day so provided a full refund to stay somewhere else. Lack of planning and oversight from the host created a huge inconvenience for our holiday family vacation and we had to find a hotel to accommodate all of us on short notice.

Disaster

We rented this place for my wife’s 40th bday family gathering. What a mistake. We had no access to the garage (it was snowing) because it was filled with debris and old furniture, there was trash and construction material strewn about the yard, the outside furniture was laying in the mud and dirt, zero hand or dish soap or trash bags available, landscaping tools and rocks left all over the outside patio, TV finally worked after 2 hours of trial and error troubleshooting, unopened boxes strewn about the rooms and lest I forget there was a dead deer left rotting in a window well with its cross eyed glare staring at us. We paid a lot of money to rent this place for one night and the lack of preparation and overall dissary of the property has left us asking for our nonsensical cleaning deposit back. The owners have tried to sneak by VRBO and text and call me behind the scenes apologizing and promising a refund. It’s not happened. Unfortunately the next step is small claims. The property is not that great. Has a new double sized hot tub but it is far from a “mansion”, let alone a stellar stay. Has a lot of beds but in the end dealing with this little couple and their mediocre digs was not worth the money or headache. Just mind boggling he didn’t just send the cleaning fee immediately to my Venmo as promised. Good luck folks, you’ll need it if you book JS

Great Place, More INFO would help overall

We were a 17 member family reunion. happy with the house though it needs acoustic tiles in main kitchen-living area, as it is currently quite loud, otherwise the house is lovely and suited our needs well. Jennefer was very responsive when I suggested a drip coffee maker would make sense for a house this size as there was a lovely Breville espresso machine and a Keurig. She ordered one and it arrived the next day. Also, be aware if you want to use the espresso machine to bring Coffee BEANS, it has a built in grinder. Also, having descaled tablets there would be helpful as the light is on showing this needs to be done. The pool and hot tub are great, though when we arrived, they were full of what looked like tree debris and algae covering the vents in both. I called Jennefer, she got right back. Said she'd had the pool guy there a few days before, asked me to send photos, which I did. She got back to me a little later and said the pool guy would be there first thing the next day, that didn't happen so after getting permission to enter the garage to get the umbrella, I noticed a pool vacuum so we took it upon ourselves to clean the pool and one member of our group worked with the PH to get that going. We were bummed to have not heard back until the next day and was told by the pool guy that there had been a family emergency. All things considered,more info/check out expectations would be helpful. It seems this is a new endeavor and room for improvement. I wish them the best

Why they chose this property

This property is our pride and joy - we spent a full year renovating it (took it down to the studs). New internals (plumbing, electric, hvac), new flooring, windows, paint, etc. We poured our hearts out into this house to make it the absolute best it could be. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

Skip the traffic to the ski resorts!! Most traffic heading up to ski resorts comes from Salt Lake city and moves south. Since you'll be coming up from the south, you'll skip quite a lot of the traffic on a pow day.
