The deck out back, overlooking the running water of a stream is one of our happy places, and we will definitely be back next year! Sip some coffee on the swinging bench and find your happy place!

2nd time back and it was as wonderful as before. Our kids and grandkids joined us this time. Was perfect for all. Gorgeous, peaceful location. We adventured farther out this time, but was great to always come back to the cabin.

Great propety. Beautiful location, very relaxing.and clean. We enjoyed our stay. The only issue was house keeping failed to have the beds ready, but did arrive rapidly to remedy the problem when called.

This place was amazing! Inside perfect living space, clean. The real treat was outside. Venable creek is literally off the back deck. We sat out there listening and watching for hours. Plus it was a 2 minute drive to the Venable trail head. Great location for what we wanted. We had a. Issue with the fireplace our first night, the owner had people at the house within 15 minutes. No complaints whatsoever, my dogs loved it also. Will stay again! Ghanks

Magical Alpine Cabin

We stayed five days in this wonderful home. The views were breathtaking and time seems to stand still when you go hiking just yards from the porch. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who needs a break from city life. Richard was informative and very welcoming.

Amazing location by the creek - lots of trees and privacy!

There were 3 couples in our group, and we had a fabulous time - everything we needed was there. Really enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the creek - great fire table when it got cooler. Amazing view of the stars and a great fire inside when we were ready. Great location and perfect set-up!

Perfect quiet and solitude

Exactly what my husband and I needed…. Peace quiet and solitude! Sitting on the back deck is wonderful as the nearby stream relaxes you! The Sangre de Christo mountains are beautiful! As noted in another review, If you plan to cook bring a sharp knife and a skillet that you like! Otherwise, perfect stay!

Back again

We stayed here last year in August 2023 and loved the place. The best features are the back deck overlooking a stream, that and the peace and quiet. We had some friends over that live in area and had a great visit. I heard repeated high pitch "coughs" in the middle of the night, thought it might be a bobcat, I Googled bobcat sounds and that was it. Pretty cool. We will be back!!

Wonderful Vacation

My friends came up from Texas to escape the Texas heat. This house is absolutely what we needed! The house is very clean, roomy and in a great location. Hopefully, anyone nearby wasn't annoyed by our singing loudly LOL. I highly recommend this beautiful home. Our host, Richard, made sure that everything was perfect for us! Sitting outside on the deck listening to the creek was so amazing! We're already looking forward to coming back!

Location is perfect, just what we were looking for. Place is comfortable and well maintained. Enjoyed the creek in the backyard. I would appreciate more ways to communicate with the property manager. There were no clear instructions on how to contact the property manager. We lost power one night but has no way of contacting anyone. Also we couldn't find any one to drop the key on the day of departure. I relied on emailing an email address I received prior to check in.

Gorgeous cosy relaxation dream!

This cabin was not only beautiful and very clean, but had so many amazing little touches to really make it stand out and give us a wonderful, relaxing, comfortable getaway! The kitchen was not only stocked with all of the stuff we needed to cook, but there was coffee and disposable products and spices that made it even easier. And there was a washer and dryer too! The creek in the back was not only incredibly beautiful, but give my kids hours of fun! There was an awesome gas fire table on the back deck overlooking the creek where we can eat dinner with the warmth of the fire! The bench swing on the back deck was an amazing place to just hang out as a family and chill while we looked out into the beautiful forest! It was one of those weekends where when leaving, you know it will be one that none of you ever forget! 10/10 would go again!

Sitting on 1.8 acres of land the Venerable Cabin has a serene and relaxed feeling creating a time for family games and memory-making experiences. We love spending Thanksgiving at the cabin.
Westcliffe is a sleeping jewel in a beautiful valley with magnificent mountains. The community recently received International Dark Skies recognition for the communities shaded lighting which preserves the night time views of the Milky Way and the stars above creating an incredible and moving experience.
Summertime in the small town of Westcliffe has offered us a variety of activities. With an outdoor theatre in the park, The Blue Grass Festival, Western Days, Movies at the local theatre, along with local fun unique shops.
