About this property
Moose Manor, Westcliffe Luxury With Amazing Views
3 Bedroom. 3 1/2 Bath. Sleeps 6
Amazing views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in southern Colorado, 2½ hours south of Denver, near Westcliffe, in Custer County.
House features include: an expansive open kitchen, dining and living space, with a striking stone gas fireplace; granite-topped bar provides additional seating to the dining room table, which seats six; a large, well-designed kitchen with granite counters and upgraded stainless steel appliances including all the cooking and serving utensils necessary to prepare any meal; a gas BBQ grill located on the deck is available for all your grilling needs.
The over-sized master suite, with a king-sized bed, is a quiet retreat with its own charming gas fireplace and cozy reading nook. Bath has jacuzzi tub, and double marble-topped sinks.
Lower level walkout includes secondary living space with stone fireplace, tall ceilings, french doors to the outside patio, wet bar, 2 bedrooms, one full and one ¾ bath. 600 square feet of covered decking on the south and west sides of the home provide a fabulous spot to soak up peaceful mountain surroundings, view local wildlife, and experience unforgettable sunsets.
Although you could spend all day on the deck enjoying the view, board games, dishnetwork and wireless internet are available for your entertainment. A large laundry room with a washer and dryer is located on the main floor and a second washer and dryer are available on the lower level.
The 3.65 acre property is located just 14 minutes southeast of Westcliffe via Colorado Highway 69 and Rosita Road (CR 328), and is easily accessed with just .3 miles of unpaved roads.
The Westcliffe area provides a multitude of year-round activities and recreational opportunities. Much of the Sangre de Cristo and Wet Mountain ranges are part of San Isabel National Forest, which provides access to hundreds of miles of hiking and ATV trails, camping opportunities, horseback riding and packing, and mountain climbing. You'll also find trout in nearby mountain lakes, rivers and streams. Just a short drive away, the Arkansas River features some of the country's best white water rafting. For golfers, there is St. Andrews in Westcliffe. Winter sports can be enjoyed on miles of cross-country ski and snowmobile trails. Monarch ski area is located within a 1½ hour drive.
The climate is ideal - cool, clear and mostly dry in the winter, warm in the summer, and sunny nearly all year-round. Fall is most beautiful of all with the spun-gold aspens and the first snow crowning the big range.

Why they chose this property
We have stayed in several vacation homes in Westcliffe where we enjoy riding the nearby ATV trails and fishing with our children and grandchildren. After making the decision to sell one of irrigated farms in the Arkansas Valley we purchased this home for our family to enjoy.
Moose Manor is named in memory of our grandson Kent who was taken from us in auto accident on Thanksgiving 2016 at the age of 27. Kent loved everything Moose and we will always cherish the joy he brought to our family.
