The Dacha - a four minute walk to town and a quick drive to everything Harbor Country has to offer! Relax in a hot tub facing the woods, watch your kids play from the deck, enjoy coffee and sunrise on the front porch, have a glass of wine with friends on the screened-in back porch, roast s’mores at the fire pit, read quietly in one of our reading nooks.

We are committed to being as sustainable as possible; the Dacha is powered by 100% renewable energy, uses an electric stove, and will soon have a compost pile at the end of the yard, near the woods, for those interested in using it.

The Dacha had everything we needed and more! It was the perfect quiet escape even in winter. We even had a 60 degree day so were able to enjoy the backyard and playset. They thought of everything - black out curtains, pack and play, white noise machines. Everything I would normally pack and bring with us was already there. My kids loved the toys that were there for them to play with. The house is perfect for multiple families and has 2 separate family/living spaces plus the screened in patio. We were close to everything - downtown Sawyer and Warren Dunes. We'll definitely be back!

Great family place!

We had a great time at The Dacha! House was just what we were looking for. There were so many cute little touches in the house that made it so welcoming, and plenty of games for the adults and kiddos alike!

Wonderful family getaway

My family and I had an amazing stay! The house has absolutely anything and everything we needed, and more. It is clean, cute, and comfortable. It is within walking distance to Sawyer and on a quiet little street. We made special memories here that we will have with us forever.

Family Friendly Vacation

Stayed at the Dacha with 3 generations of family ranging in age from one year old to 68 years old. House was well stocked with toys, games, kitchen items and very comfortable. Hot tub was amazing. Would highly recommend.

We loved our stay! Andrea was a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful throughout. The cottage had everything we needed, and the beds were super comfortable. The backyard was a highlight: a peaceful space surrounded by trees, complete with a badminton/volleyball net, a small playground for the kids, and a relaxing hammock. It's just a block from town, making it easy to walk to the coffee shop, grocery store, and restaurants, we especially loved Susan’s! Bonus - there are lots of toys for kids and board games for the family.

We stayed at the Dacha with 3 adults and 4 kids. The house had everything we needed and then some. We loved the hot tub and the great back yard. It is super close to Warren Dunes which is where we spent a lot of our time. We would definitely come back again. Thanks so much!

Girl's Trip

Our group of ladies enjoyed all this property and cute little town had to offer! The house is so cute and has everything you need for your stay! We enjoyed chatting in the screened in porch, a night in the hot tub, swinging from the tree, and the coffee station. It is nice walk into town for coffee or lunch at the brewery! Its close to the dunes, winery, and New Buffalo for shopping! I would recommend this property for families too! I hope to bring my kids back here!

We’d come back! A lovely summer week

We rent a different place in this area yearly and this is one of the few places we’d return to. We had 3 who stayed the whole week and others who came and went(a mixture of young adults and their benevolent parents;). Great location near “downtown “ Sawyer. Walking distance to coffee shop/groceries/brewpub. We cycled the 12 miles to New Buffalo and took country road cycle trips as well. Quick drive to beaches. The house is comfortable with a ton of nice touches-cute decor, tons of hooks to hang stuff after a day at the beach, and sleep sound machines in each bedroom. Kitchen well appointed with lots of coffee and bar equipment. Screen porch, hot tub, fire pit made it great for relaxing. We’ll be back!

I’ve daydreamed of traveling for as long as I can remember, and though I’ve had many adventures and still have many places I plan to travel to, my home away from home has always been Harbor Country in Michigan. My husband and I were able to make our dream of having our own place near the beach a reality in December of 2020 and, after extensive renovations, we’re looking forward to sharing our Dacha with other families who enjoy a peaceful getaway in the woods, a four minute walk to town, a short drive to the beach, hiking trails, and, of course, good food and drinks! We planned the Dacha as a place to enjoy with our extended family, friends, and guests to have a memorable time in a relaxing and easy to enjoy space that you’ll want to return to again and again.

Why they chose this property

The Dacha is on a quiet, dead end street surrounded by woods and across the train tracks from downtown Sawyer. A four minute walk from The Dacha, downtown Sawyer houses Greenbush Brewery, Sideyard, Section House event venue, Infusco coffee shop, the Sawyer Home and Garden Center, Susan's, and Sawyer Market. Warren Dunes, which features miles of beach and hiking trails, is a five minute drive away, as are many other restaurants, breweries, wineries, and means of entertainment for the whole family!
