We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the river house in Friese. Comfy, cozy, well-equipped with just the right touch of a vacation place set in the hills of SW Virginia. The exterior amenities were especially nice, a large wicker furnished front porch and an equally large back deck with table, chairs, umbrella and an impressive gas grill. We would stay again.

Everything was very clean and pleasant and we especially loved sitting on the shady front porch playing music and meeting friendly neighbors who stopped in. The kitchen was very well supplied for cooking and nice big fridge. The AC worked great downstairs and upstairs, which was wonderful! Thanks so much for our week in the charming cottage!

This is our second stay at "Nana's House" and it was as nice as our first one a couple of years ago. The house is spotlessly clean, the hosts make it easy to check in and out and it is a very comfortable place to stay. It's in a nice, friendly neighborhood and has easy access to the New River State Park trail for biking or walking. If you are here on a Thursday night in the summer; head on up to the historic Fries Theatre downtown for an evening of old time music including a chance to win a cake at the cake walk!

Daughter-Mother Weekend

Great place to stay very pleasant.

We stayed here with another couple to go riding on the New River Trail. The place could not have been better. We loved it, the location is very quite and relaxing. The beds are very comfortable and the owner thought of everything.

The front porch of this home is just as inviting in-person as this picture implies... awesome home! We had 4 adults and each had our own comfy bed. Perfect! Terrific kitchen, comfortable dining room, living room & TV room. We loved being only minutes to the New River Trailhead. We appreciated this wonderful home has a washer & dryer. We also enjoyed the local Fries Steak House for dinner. Rachel & Richard are great hosts! They communicate well, are flexible, and provided everything we needed and then some. I highly recommend this property!

Wonderful vacation

The property was amazing. The house was just like we expected. Tim was raised in the neighborhood and we were very excited to stay there again. The house was well supplied and in excellent shape.

Great spot to enjoy music and biking

We had a wonderful stay at Nanas place in Fries. The house is lovely and a great place to relax after a long day of riding. We also enjoyed the proximity to live music as we were able to experience the Thursday night Jam at the Theater in Fries and a wonderful concert at the Blue Ridge Music Center on the Parkway. Will definitely consider staying at Nanas Place again!

Ver welcoming,clean and quiet. The perfect home away from home.

This was our second stay. We feel so at home there. The neighbors are friendly. We so enjoyed the front porch. We shared several breakfasts on that porch and several dinners by candlelight. We want to return soon.

Relaxing

This was the perfect place to stay. The owners were so nice. The house is well appointed with everything you need! My 2 Sisters and I stayed here and we all had plenty of space. The neighborhood was quiet and it was so relaxing. We played cards, watched movies and just sit out on the porch and talked. What a great time we had!

The house was quiet, clean and well maintained.

If you are looking for a quiet county getaway this rental is for you. We rented this home for three nights to ride the New River Trail. The home is close to the trail and the neighborhood is amazingly peaceful. The neighbors were friendly and the deck and front porch were are favorite place after dinner. I highly recommend this home.

Great Place

This home was exactly as pictured! The neighborhood was quiet and close to the river. Our only problem, no cell service at best spotty. The owners provide a land line which made us more comfortable in case a family member would need us. We would definitely return to this home.
