Truly had a wonderful time. Very peaceful and beautiful surrounding. Beware of the skunks that walk along the water front at night.. glad we smelled them before we saw them, thank goodness!! Fishing was good, caught a large catfish. Looking forward to staying again soon.
The first issue started before we even arrived. No detailed email, no clear instructions, no guidance about where to go, what code to use, or who to contact if there was an issue. The bathroom had a very strong mold problem. Not the faint “old building” smell that some lakeside cabins have. This was heavy, damp, unmistakable mold odor that hits you the second you walk in. You could see signs of moisture around the bathroom area and all over the shower walls on top It made using the bathroom genuinely unpleasant. Also, the shower area is barely enough for one person. The window blinds were also broken, which created two major problems: lack of privacy and poor lighting control. Some sections wouldn’t close properly while others were bent or hanging unevenly. The fishing was genuinely one of the best parts of the trip. If you enjoy peaceful mornings near the water, casting lines while the lake sits quiet under sunrise colors, this area delivers. The access to the water is convenient and easy, which makes it appealing for anglers or families wanting a simple lakeside experience without paying luxury resort prices. Another challenge was the surrounding food and dining options. The area is extremely limited when it comes to decent restaurants or quality meals. Most nearby options felt underwhelming, outdated, or lacking freshness and variety. After the first day, finding good food became surprisingly difficult.
