The space itself worked well for our needs; there was plenty of space for our family to gather. We traveled between Canyon and Amarillo, so the location was a good middle ground. There is a United Supermarket not too far away so we were able to easily get groceries for our visit. The home is on a cul-de-sac and the neighborhood was quiet during our visit. The host also responded quickly to messages.Unfortunately, the house was not fully clean upon our arrival- I imagine this is not a usual occurrence, as the property has other good reviews. It smelled clean and the bathrooms seemed clean, but the floors had debris on them and the kitchen counters had not been cleaned. One of the beds had sheets that had loose debris on them. The host responded quickly, was apologetic, and offered to have the home cleaned again and send fresh sheets. We accepted the offer of new sheets but chose to sweep and clean the counters ourselves. However, there appeared to have been a miscommunication and the sheets were not delivered to the correct home; we were able to make do with other bedding provided, so that was not a major issue.Other things to be aware of- the home is not ideal for light sleepers due to echoing, and you can hear a train at some times.

Trash can was dirty, underneath the bag and the lid.. Under the bed was dusty and had trash underneath. Where the clean dishes was. Two plates were dirty with dry food stuck on it. Upon arrival around 930pm the front door was left unlock. Wasn't sure if someone was in the house for it being unlocked and easy access for anyone to be inside.

Very nice place that had just about everything you needed. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The neighborhood felt safe. I will stay there again when visiting Amarillo.

Great, clean home

We rented the house while hiking at Palo Duro, which is a short 23 minute drive away. We did Cadillac Ranch the first night, then spent 2 days hiking at the state park. The home is clean, well stocked and the owners are friendly, kind and thoughtful. Great experience.
