Located on beautiful Johnson Lake in Arbor Vitae and within a few short minutes of downtown Minocqua. This is small quaint lake that is great for fishing, swimming, and all types of boating and offers a little bit of solitude during the summer months of Minocqua, while being right around corner from town. As the winter sets in, you'll be able enjoy the snowmobile trails right across the lake.

ABOUT THE HOME:
This was originally a small and historical hotel that was converted over the years into detached residential home. It is a 3 bedroom with 3.5 bathrooms (3 ensuite) and approximately 3700 square foot of living space. It has a lodge like great room with an expansive wood fireplace and cathedral ceilings, a spacious kitchen and dining room, and a large master bedroom on the main floor. You'll enjoy the views of the lake and entertainment yard below.

The lower level offers two private bedrooms and a relaxing bar to enjoy the evening and watch your favorite games.

You'll end up gravitating to the outdoors at some point during your stay and appreciate the expansive fire pit with the surrounding Adirondack chairs , new permanent dock, swim raft, and kayaks/paddleboards provided.

We look forward to creating your long lasting Northwoods memories at all times of the year.

Overall great winter stay

Definitely would do again. a few minor items needed some assistance on but local manager and owner were attentive in addressing.Location is unmatched. surely the feel of the property differs during the summer, but for a winter stay it is right what we needed and provide a great home away from home.

Great fireplace room and rec room!

Lovely place, with real hardwood in the wood-burning fireplace room that overlooks the lake. We enjoyed the lower-level barroom with the stereo and CDs and Golden Tee game.

Beautiful home!

This property was beautiful with nice parking. The owner is very good at communicating. My entire family loved it. Nice big patio and a great pier. I would highly recommend this property.

Property was exactly as described and photographed. Well appointed kitchen and paper products/soap, etc. Very clean and spacious for our family of four. Having the en-suite bathroom for each bedroom was fabulous. Johnson Lake is very peaceful and not a lot of (noisy) activity. Great location, central to Minocqua and Woodruff/Arbor Vitae. Josh the owner was very communicative and responsive - super easy check in and check out process.

Vacation

We went up for my kids birthday and tried out this property for the first time. The instructions were sent ahead of time and very easy and clear to understand from start to end. The house is very large and beautifully furnished. Strong wifi. TVs in every room. The dock was amazing and comfortable. Our kids caught fish after fish of the dock. It is so close to minocqua to go out to eat or even picking up groceries at triggs for the week. The owners are very understanding and accomodating. The beds are comfortable as well and enough bathrooms for an army to use at the same time. This has been a great trip and would highly recommend to anyone that wants a comforting, relaxing, and adventurous vacation.

Great location

Had some confusion getting into the house but the owner was very quick to help us out and it was all good after speaking to him. House was beautiful and it’s a great location. Short drive down the road to get on the snowmobile trails. Plenty of room for our group of 10 to spread out in the house. Only other hiccup we had was the trash, the trash man never picked it up and we put it by the road as instructed by the owners. Not the owners fault, just may need to check on that. Overall great stay.

Long weekend getaway Friends/Family

I booked this stay for my sister, her husband and another couple that we are friends with. Worked out perfect for sleeping arrangements and private bathrooms in each room. The bar area was fun with music and golden tee. Nice outside area to sit around a fire and relax. Nice chairs on the pier for morning coffee. Upstairs TV had a nice Bose system for movies and the Bristol Night Nascar race we watched Saturday Night. Overall a great long weekend Wednesday - Sunday! Did not have one issue that caused the need to contact the host or property manager.

Lovely large well appointed home...great for our all adult family with the 3 BD and 3 BA. Enjoyed the area as always with biking hiking swimming kayaking dining relaxing on the lake pier! Host was wonderful with any communication and took care of a broken oar on our behalf..thank you! Lake home sits on a main road and across from main hwy so can hear some traffic. Must swim out a bit from pier to avoid some weeds. But a lovely week all and all!

Truly Disappointing

Host Lives in California not Wisconsin During the 2024 January Blizzard and Deep Freeze, we contacted the host that we were not allowed to travel due to no fault of our own for our reservation at his property. Wisconsin was in a Blizzard condition (National Weather Service was posting a 'stay put' warning - Wisconsin State Troupers were stating roads were impassable with multiple vehicles stranded and emergency service would not be available during the below freezing period) The Host stated he would only refund 1/2 of the days booked and stated we could rebook the other 1/2 before the summer. We stated, all six of us are educators who could never coordinate this type of trip in those months due to work restrictions. He refused to refund the other 1/2 of nights. He kept all the taxes paid on the entire entire booking which included taxes on cleaning fees, service fees, and property damage fees. Vbro stated they would accept providing us with a full refund due to the extreme conditions, but the host did not agree. Other friends who booked through Vbro during this same extreme weather event, received full refunds. During this blizzard there were fatal accidents, property damage, electrical outages and great destruction. This Host lives in California and does not understand what we all were experiencing during this time. We lost $856.72 Please research your Host
